I just purchased a Western Digital My Passport Ultra 2TB external USB3 hard drive model WDBBKD0020BBK and it's not detectable/mounting when plugged directly into either of the USB3 ports using the factory supplied cable .It's not seen under disk management either. I've verified the drive as working and detectable on two other computers. Another USB 2 drive I have is recognized.
Have gone through in detail all troubleshooting steps found in WDC's page for external HDD's, as well as Dell's knowledge base and tried various suggestions found via web searches involving USB and Windows 10 over a period of several hours without any success.
Both Windows and Dell updates are current as are USB related drivers.
It is spinning/vibrating and does have a solid indicator light so it's powered up. The light eventually changes to a slow flash indicating it's in standby.
Has anybody else had this issue and found a fix?
