Inspiron N4010 urgent help needed

Hi Chinmay,

My name is Abhishek, I am using Dell Inspiron N4010 for nearly 4 years and i am a proud owner of it.

It was all working fine with windows 7 ultimate x64 edition till last month. But started overheating and becoming laagy all the time.

Although i was aware but I preferred to go through the forum which suggested me to do a BIOS update. I downloaded the latest update which is A13 as compared to my old A10 , I did the update and it started working a bit fine.

But still the overheating and lagging problems were there. So, i opened and cleaned up the Laptop, which really had a thick layer of dust. It cleaning is an annual workaround for my laptop but since i moved to a dusty area, i have cleaned this time in 4 months.

It worked good and was cooler and less noisy. I shut down the laptop and slept. On the very next day, i.e. yesterday, i started the laptop and logged onto email accounts and left for breakfast from my workstation for nearly 20-25 minutes. I came back and found my Laptop's LEDs are on but the screen is off i tried waking it up, but of no use. i was wondering that how it happened when i have altered the settings to prevent the system to go on any of the sleep, hibernate or shut-down process by itself. Left with no other option i tried to shut it down forcefully. But to my surprise the laptop completely refused to shutdown. i kept holding the button for more than two minutes but it did not turn itself off. So, i took the power cable off and took the battery out. The laptop was now finally off.

To turn it on again i plugged the battery first and then A.C. cable and it has no lights on it. Tried turn it on, nothing, No LED blink, no light at all. I was surprised what has happened. Then i opened the laptop to see if any visible damage or burns on board or something i can figure out. Nothing has happened like the same.

I tried contacting Dell CC, i have been transferred to different departments and been told different things, no technical help all. Someone disconnected the call after telling me that the warranty is expired so i have to wait for monday to get the department who support customers with warranty expired.

I need my laptop working in one day to work on some real important stuff and With no hope from dell I went on googling the problem. And has encountered various solutions ranging from replacing battery, RAMs, HDD, taking CMOS battery out, Flushing off the reserve charge by pressing power button for 30 seconds and the above suggestions too. I spent whole day in hope to get it resolved.

First i suspected the RAMs(My laptop has  1x1GB samsung DDR3 and 1x2GB Kingston DDR3 sticks) so i checked both of them with different combinations with the A and B slots, no luck.

Then i suspected the HDD, i took the HDD out and checked if i can boot to BIOS and remain there for a long time, say 5-10 minutes. again no luck.

Took DVD drive out, booted, nothing comes up.

I tried to boot with just RAM and display but again no luck.

I wonder why LEDs don't come up or blink.?

All i got so far is when i leave the laptop for an hour or so, i can start it for nearly mere 30-40 seconds which gives me enough time to go to BIOS settings but while i try to reset the time even, It shuts down itself and even after pressing power button many times or for a long time it doesn't turns on.

I am in a great need to fix it. I have been told by Dell CC that i can pay 18,000/- INR to get an engineer at my place to fix this problem if my laptop is out of warranty which is a way too unaffordable to me.

I would gladly seek your help.

Thanks in advance.

Waiting for a quick response.
