So here the full chronology,
At tuesday 25th Feb 2014, my Notebook Dell Inspiron 3420 wouldn't boot normally. I called the Dell service number for my Country (Indonesia) and the Customer Care for Inspiron Division said that they would send a Technician to replace my Hard drive. Later that night i tried to make a recovery USB flashdisk, it worked. My notebook was working fine, so when the Dell person (from Singapore) called me I said that it was working with a recovery USB disk. They called me all day to inform me that they would come in the afternoon. When the tech person came, i showed him that it was working fine and i actually quite satisfied. With his recommendation, he said that he would check on my hard drive as a pre caution act. He then told me that since the symptom i told him seemed to indicate that there was a hard drive issue, he would recommend me to replace the hard drive (My symptom was that under Thorough diagnostic using diagnostic tool the process seemed stuck at 95%). I agreed, and he then replaced the hard drive he brought with the one installed, then he set my notebook on diagnostic tool under thorough mode. He left me the used hard drive and told me that i can buy a SATA connector for Recovery Data. Because it was taking too long and it was night (I never asked him to come in the afternoon), He left me with my notebook still doing thorough diagnostic, i then leave it be and go to dinner with my family. When i got back from dinner, the diagnostic tool said it's done and my device was ready (no error message). When i tried to install my OS (reboot), it showed me an ERROR message "Real tek PCI: PXE-E61: MEDIA TEST FAILURE, CHECK CABLE, PXE-MOF: EXITING PXE ROM. REBOOT AND SELECT PROPER BOOT DEVICE OR INSERT BOOT MEDIA IN SELECTED BOOT DEVICE.". I have tried to disable "integrated NIC" yet it will only show this ERROR "REBOOT AND SELECT PROPER BOOT DEVICE OR INSERT BOOT MEDIA IN SELECTED BOOT DEVICE".
My questions are:
1. Where did i got wrong?!
2. How can it get worse after a tech come?!
3. If i call now, will there be a Customer Care?! Because i can't have my works piling up
4. Can i have a replace for my unit?! I'm tired of having this experience. I just want it run like before.
Thank you for any reply given,
