I have an XPS 12 and, though I love both the equipment and the concept, I have been having problems with the touchscreen since I got it about a month ago.
The screen randomly begins to vibrate in a manner that I can only describe as being somewhat out of phase. I upgraded the system to Windows 8.1 shortly after receiving it.
I have had several conversations with the Technicians over the phone, who installed new drivers. I have had an onsite technician attempt to fix it, and it became worse, as the keyboard stopped working. He arranged for me to send it in to Dell to be fixed. I thought after it had been returned, that it was working properly, but after it was up and running on house power for several hours, and I spoke to the phone technician telling him everything seemed to be OK, the vibration problem returned. I was able to stop it by closing the laptop, reopening it and pressing the windows button at the bottom of the screen. When it restarted, it was stable again. I noticed in past iterations of the problem that the longer this went on, the worse the vibration/phasing became, until portions of the screen began to go black.
I read somewhere that the power settings could have an effect on this, but have not been able to find that post again. Can you help?
