I configured my laptop (Inspiron 14Z 5423) to hibernate when I close the lid, but sometimes, I would say 1% of the time, it doesn't hibernate. Today, I closed the lid, put it inside my backpack and that happened. It was in there for almost three hours, overheated and wouldn't turn on for a couple of minutes. Battery status said it was too hot to be charged.
Another problem (2) is that when I put it to sleep, after a couple of hours it will hibernate. And when I turn it back on, it takes a couple of minutes to turn on the screen, and then it shows the Windows logon screen right after. If I turn it off and on again, my session will be lost - all the programs will be closed.
My questions are:
- How can I troubleshoot and fix the problem that is not allowing my laptop to hibernate?
- Should I run a diagnostics tool to check if everything is ok after overheating?
- How can I troubleshoot and fix the problem that when I put the laptop to sleep, and it hibernates after a couple of hours, it will have a delay of few minutes to start up?
Thanks!
