Hi,
I'm Giancarlo, from Italy, and I bought my L701XPS about 3 years ago.
I've always been really happy to have bought this kind of laptop (technically speaking) until I used it to play to a very "hard" game!
After I add to the machine 2 X8 DDR3 4GB SODIMM RAM banks, to help the laptop system to support all different kinds of activities I usually do with it, it happened while I'm playing, after 10/15 minutes, his temperature goes over 30°C!!!
Imagine that I must turn off it to let the temperature decrease instead of "burning" my hands!!!
I understand that my laptop isn't a game consolle, but it is not so regular that there is not a system protection or a internal strong enough fun that avoids the temperature goes on until those levels.
I'm sure someone could help me!
Do you think it's better to install a stronger internal fun inside the laptop, to buy an external "funning" base or to pass directly to another kind of machine???(...such as alienware DELL version??)
Waiting for your answers...
Giancarlo
