Dell XPS 13 9350: Shutting down completely when laptop lid is closed.
Hi i have an otherwise working laptop that seems to shutdown completely (closes browser, shuts off programs) when the lid merely closes. I updated everything I could fine on Dell's website but to no relief. What can I do to fix this issue?

E5430 selecting wrong bios update through SupportAssist
SupportAssist selects the E5530 version of bios update, which fails to install.
Workaround is to to manually select and install.
Also does not seem to be able to actually install the chipset update it claims to have, as the option will re-appear the next time SupportAssist is started.
Might explain the missing webcam.

XPS 12 9Q33 - Windows 10 Anniversary Update hangs on upgrade
Hi,
I previously upgraded from Windows 8.1 to 10, but the Anniversary Update will not complete properly and I've been stuck on v1511 for a few months now.
The installation goes through most of the steps but on reboot it just goes to a black screen with the dell logo and the endless spinning dots. The error message after rolling back is: 0xC1900101 - 0x30017 ("The installation failed in the FIRST_BOOT phase with an error during BOOT operation".
I've tried the following based on other forum posts, unfortunately without success:
1) Leaving this running overnight.
2) Unplugging all USB devices.
3) Installing upgrade from USB drive.
4) Installing from a clean boot.
5) Installing with wireless adaptor disabled.
In each case it hangs at the spinning dots. After a few forced reboots the upgrade rolls back fairly quickly to the previous version. One thing I haven't tried is a clean install, as if it fails I'll not have anything to roll back to. Also it's unclear if my existing Windows 10 license will carry over.
Any help appreciated.

Laptop refuse to turn on
I wanted to remove the dust from the fan of my laptop and I turned it on, no trouble. I left it open for a few minutes and came back, my screen was dark as it turned into sleep mode. But since then it refuse to turn on. I press the power button and 1-2 seconds after it turn off. Did I touch something I wasn't supposed to touch? I tried to disconnect the power, remove the batterie, press 30 sec and then check if it turn on after. Nothing happen. It's an Inspiron 15 series 5000, Windows 8.

Overloaded c drive
My old laptop studio which was running Windows 7 and an important expensive software program which only ran on 7. My computer auto updated to 10 and much to my surprise my software continued to work. Until this morning when I turned it on and an auto 10 update ran. When finished my password into the system keeps coming up "incorrect password". So I re-ran the operating system disk and can now reinstall my software. I noticed that my c: drive is at max. I also noticed when I used F2 and closed it will ask if I want Windows 7 or 10. If I click on 10 the same problem with the incorrect password is there. If I use 7 my c drive is almost entirely used. Can anyone out there help to either get pass the Windows 10 password block or tell me how to get rid of all 10 files in my c drive so I can have a healthy computer. Thanks so much to anyone out there that's super smart!

dell studio 1555, charger does not seem to work
Hello,
I have dell studio 1555. It was working fine. For last 6 months I did not use it. Now when I try to connect it with charger, its not charging. As I have not used it since long, the battery is dead.
When I plug in charger, I see blue light on the connecting end of charger (at the pin that connects to laptop). However as soon as i connect it to laptop, the blue light goes off, Also there is no sign in the laptop to indicate charging. The laptop is not powering up.
Based on tips given in youtube url (Please visit the site to view this video)
I think the charger is up. However I dont understand why charger blue light goes off when I connect it to the laptop.
Any suggestion to fix this issue.

Dell N4050 Keyboard combinations not working !!!!!
I have Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit OS. And I recently figured it out while playing game that my "up" key and "left" key cant work together and also various other combination such as cant press "q" while pressing any of the arrow key. Is it a driver or a device problem ?? Please help

Lost WiFi settings
XPS 14 L1421X keeps losing wifi settings. I see the wifi connection on the W10 logon screen, but once logged in, there is no wifi icon on the taskbar and going in to the network settings, there is no wifi option.
Last time, I plugged in the ethernet cable and wifi showed up and it worked for a few days. Now I can't seem to enable wifi anymore.
Going to roll back to previous build.

I am having problem with my Dell XPS 15z where the chrome trim is flaking off, coming lose, and very sharp on the edges making it hard or difficult to type sometimes. How can I get it replaced?

Quickset doesn't work for BIOS update.
I have dell Inspiron 5559, I updated my bios to the current version but apparently my quickset isn't working. I tried to uninstall but it says "Your computer's Bios is outdated. Update your bios firmware to current version." I cant update the quickset too! What should I do?!?

Latitude 7275 unusable RAM
I recently bought a secondhand Latitude 7275 , had the SSD replaced today as it was unworkable, tech reinstalled windows 10 however still not running properly. When I click on about this computer the following information (amongst other info)
Installed RAM 8.00GB (741 MB usable).
System type 32-bit operating system, x64-based processor
Not being really tech savvy this would seem to be an issue. Solutions anyone??

Latitude E5420 Mousepad Not Working After Updating To Windows 10
Hi Guys,
I am new here so be gentle! :)
As the title says i have upgraded my laptop to Windows 10 and the mouse pad is not working the only drivers i can seem to find seem to relate to a windows 8 update? I have gone into device manager and updated drivers and it says i have the most recent one:- 8.1206.101.112 - Alps 6/2/14.
I would be very grateful if anybody could help, my system is running 64bit version.

Display not full screen after Bios Update - E5470
Yesterday I updated my E5470 to the latest Bios 01.08.03 and now my display does not fill up the entire screen. It looks like it was scaled down with the new Bios. I updated all the video drivers and even tried to downgrade the Bios. I get an error that it is an unsupported downgrade. I tried unchecking the TPM security, still no luck.
How can I force it to downgrade the Bios? Or is it something else that messed up the display not filling the entire screen?

Alternative Pointstick driver for E6430 ?
Hello
I have Latitude E6430 with Win7 x64 installed. I want to disable Touchpad with its buttons (using stick only), but if i install the "Dell Touchpad" driver the pointstick behavior changes (most annoying - cursor movement stops if any key pressed) without driver stick works perfectly.
Do you know any workaround ?

I marked AUTO. With few words i lost the 40MHZ choice. At this moment my DELL is not 40MHZ capable, and Idon't know why.
My Router is Linksys X1000 N300 with ADSL2+Modem and marked AUTO (20MHZ or 40mhz)

2015 Dell xps 13 not charging properly
Hi,
recently I bought Dell XPS 13 (9343) with UHD+ and touchscreen and it seems to have charging problem.
Battery charges fine up to 80% and signal LED is turned on, when it reaches 80% LED light is turning off and on. When I put mouse on battery icon it says plugged in not charging for a while, then it starts to charge and so on.Then battery reaches about 85% or 87% and no more. It is really annoying.
I tried to change settings in BIOS but none of them helped. What should I try next?

Continuous connection to a WD15 docking station.
My XPS 13 9350 can sometimes feel a bit warm (through the keyboard) when it's been connected to the WD15 for a length of time. CPU temps aren't out of control but it did make me wonder if it could be harmful having my laptop connected as often as it can be to the docking station. Because it uses the WD15 to connect to a number of peripherals (the ports that work of course - I still have no USB 3.0 use), I have it connected more often then I would if only to charge the battery. So... could this lead to harm or diminished capacity for my battery?

rubber seal around screen coming off - latitude e6540
I'm using Dell Latitude E6540.
Same problem as experienced by other users.
The Rubber liner on the Left side of LCD display came off.
