XPS 13 9350 - Samsung PM951 NVMe - RAID to AHCI?
Hi
After a few tests, I have discovered that I am only getting read speeds of 650 and write speeds of 300 using Crystal Disk - with the data at default and 0 fill. Should the read speed not be in the region of 1500?
I believe it's using the standard windows 10 driver.
I see in the BIOS that it's in RAID mode. Could I simply change this to AHCI without affect the current installation? Would this increase the speed?
Is there anything else I haven't taken into account?

Touchscreen not working - Inspiron 7568
Hi,
Just got a Inspiron 7568 with Windows 10 about a month ago. Everything was fine until just this week the touchscreen suddenly stopped working. I tried updating all the drivers, the touchscreen firmware, windows, etc., but nothing worked. I finally restored from the factory image, but that didn't work either. Tried again installing all the drivers, firmware, bios, updates, etc., but still it does not work. Has anyone had this issue and found resolution? I searched the forums and support section, but no luck.

D1000 dock draining batteries on wireless devices
We recently purchased a two-in-one tablet and the D1000 docking station. The user had the wireless keyboard in the docking station, and the wireless mouse in the tablet directly. The wireless keyboard began needing new batteries every two days. We swapped the mouse and keyboard, and now the mouse needs batteries every two days, and the keyboard is fine. Is there something that can be done to stop the D1000 docking station from draining the batteries on these wireless devices in a short period of time?

Java Console / Applet Tiny On New Laptop. Need Solution
Just got a new laptop that has QHD resolution, 3200x1800. I've already set the config in Windows 10 to 150% size/text increase but that doesn't help with my java console pop-up. It's still microscopic and I have to use the magnifier feature which is annoying, clumsy and not a solution.
I went into the app properties > compatibility and enabled "disable scaling" option as other forums suggest, did absolutely nothing after rebooting and reopening the console.
Does anyone know of a solution to this? I experience this anytime I use VNC for virtual machines or logging into IPMI via Dell iDRAC console (iDRAC 6 Enterprise). Anything related to Java, the window is extremely tiny. No way to resize the window whatsoever. I'm running the latest java plugin as of today.

Inspiron 5537 Touchpad issue. Google browser single click download.
I'm really hoping someone can help me resolve this very irritating issue. When I'm on a website using the google browser and single tap on my touchpad to go to a link from an image link, my computer automatically downloads the link instead of taking me to said link. I have deleted countless .htm files from my downloaded folder and sometimes have to click the links two or three times for it to actually work.

Charging through USB-C
Hi everyone
I'm a proud owner of a 2015 XPS13 and I would like to charge my laptop through its USB-c port.
I got from Amazon a power charger claimed to function with chromebook and also Dell laptops.
The charger is able to erogate 60W through USB-c at 5-9-15-20V at 3A. That said, I tried to charge my laptop using that charger but without success. My questions are: is my charger ok to power the laptop? Which charger do you advice to charge xos13 through USB-c?
Last but not least, is it possible that charging through the laptop USB-c port option needs to be enabled in the bios?

NEED URGENT HELP
hi
ive been having problems with my nvidia GPU. it simply wont be detected by the system at all. everytime i try to install drivers for my GPU and it cannot complete the systems requirements check because my GPU is not compatible, even though ive checked double checked and assured by nvidia that my GPU is very much compatible. my GPU nvidia one is also not under the display adapters option in my device manager.

Widen date/day/time area in taskbar system tray
On my XPS 15 (L502X) I'd like to widen the day and date area so that the day and date fit on one line. For instance, for today, I'd like it to display "Friday/09/16/2016." I have made this change in settings, and when I hover the mouse over that area, the display is correct. But because the display area isn't wide enough, it otherwise shows only the time. This works fine on my desktop PC--plenty of room there.
I don't want to increase the taskbar height. I want only to widen the day/time/date area to accommodate the day and date on one line.
So how do I widen the day and date area on my laptop? Thanks.

Backlit keyboard for Vostro 3559
Hi,
I have a Vostro 3559 and I am pretty happy with it. I would like to -though- replace the keyboard with a backlit keyboard. Some suppliers on the internet say I need to check and not all 3559 are suitable for a backlit keyboard. When I remove the non-backlit keyboard I see a connector for the keyboard flat cable and next to it a 4 pin flat cable connector that is labeled as "B_BL1" (or something similar). I see that a flat cable on a backlit keyboard is also 4 pins. Does this mean I can upgrade the 3559 with a backlit keyboard.
Are there any people with experience with this issue?

Problems with TV as Monitor
Hi everyone. I hope I can get some actual answers here and this forum isn't run by the same customer service in India.
I just spent 2 hours on chat with tech support (INDIA) trying to describe and solve my problem with my laptop. They don't understand or have the technical ability to do this job if your problem doesn't fit into their scripts. And it's not a hard problem to understand. My new Inspiron 3558 is plugged into my Sanyo LCD TV at home. I use this as my sole monitor when home. I had a Inspiron 1574 hooked up to this tv for 7 years with zero problems. 2 days later I plug this new system in, and the computer keeps trying to change the resolution on me all by it's self. The chat with Dell in INDIA took the tv model number and tried to tell me that it doesn't support the resolution I'm trying to use. WRONG! It states right in the tv manual it supports every single resolution my computer can. I'm just looking for a way to stop my computer from trying change the resolution! Instead I got maybe it's my HDMI cable, your tv doesn't work right. I was going to buy the extended warranty but if i ever have a problem this is kind of help I can llok forward too for a price?
So while getting on here they messaged me again saying that it is my TV. Well here is what they just said "The Resolution of the TV is 1920 x 1080 for Full HD whereas the laptop supports 1366 x 768 HD resolution. Connecting the laptop to the TV the resolution would remain 1366 X 768 hence it’s a compatibility issue. Do let us know if you need further assistance."
Now I have an older Dell laptop and my wifes Toshiba with the same resolution as my my Inspiron 3558. I have used both of these for the last 6-7 years on this same TV as my home only monitor. Literally the next day I plugged in the 3558 and the screen keeps going black for a second or 2 and sometimes the resolution is adjusted higher than what I specified it be or lower sometimes. I just want it to stay at the resolution I set it at and not try to change it on me. But Indian Customer Support can't seem to grasp this no matter how I try to explain it. I was going to buy an extended warranty, but I'm not going to pay anything to have this happen when ever a problem comes up.

Dell 6820s Ethernet LAN not working
After a recent failure of the wireless router the laptop refuses to connect to Ethernet LAN wired network.
Even after a full format of HDD and reinstallation of OS (Windows XP).
The Ethernet driver downloaded from Dell support did not worked,
also if I let windows (from Wireless connection that worked) search for and install Ethernet adapter.
The LAN connection can not receive any data (on status has received 0 - at any time)
Can not receive IP from router, and if I set an IP (manual) and ping to Gateway (router) obtain 0 packets received.
I have a good network and everything works but for this (2 there are 2 identical) Dell 6820s.
I tested LAN of the Dell with a Live Linux CD and it worked OK. So it is about Windows, drivers, or virus.

Precision m4700 - No POST
Precision m4700. Normally on most of time. The other day had to power off and when went to power it back on, nothing. System has all 4 banks populated with 8g for 32g total.
Power light comes on, HD light flashes, Optical bay light flashes, sound (mute, -, +) all light up, power light stays on solid. No LED codes from HD/Batt/Wifi.
Have removed ODD, HD, mSata module, wifi, all ram, no changes.
Tried with/without battery, tried different ac adapter. Tried with HDMI cabled up, tried with VGA cabled up.
One time, when I removed a memory module I got the 'memory has changed' warning, thought I'd found it, turned it off (stupid me) and then never got it again. Even changing other memory didnt result in another warning.
No beep codes.
Tried different memory and memory configurations. Nothing. Using incorrect memory (PC3-8500 for example) resulted in LED pattern indicating a problem with memory configuration)
I've disconnected CMOS battery overnight and bled any residual power, nothing.
If I remove all memory and power on, the LED codes DO indicate no modules are installed.
If I press and hold FN while turning on power, I get a blinking battery light, but can find nothing LED wise that matches OFF, BLINKING, OFF
If I press D and power on the display comes up and cycles between White/Red/Green/Blue/Black for 30s or so.
Of course, warranty ended the end of June.
Any thoughts?

Inspiron 5721 Won't boot up!
So about 2-3 days ago I was planning to reformat my computer, it wouldn't allow me to do, so I restarted my computer like regular but something strange happened. I turn on my PC and I would get the regular Dell logo on the start up screen, but there isn't the spinning dots that are there when you usually start up your PC.
The same thing happens every time I turn the computer on: the Dell logo but no spinning dots and then after 30 seconds to a minute the computer restarts itself and it goes through that loop. I have run a diagnostics and everything seems to be fine. I have tried many solutions that are up on the forums but none of the seem to work.

XPS 13 wireless card update problem - no bars
So I just updated the native wireless card for the Intel 2nd Gen 7265. It appears to be working well, but the icon on the bottom right shows no bars. Ultimately that's just a cosmetic issue I can live with, but I'm afraid it represents an underlying optimization issue that I cannot see. Thoughts?
I used the intel updater to automatically scan/update the drivers. Was I suppose to uninstall the previous drivers, and if so, how do I do that? Thanks

Inspiron 7720 stopped recognizing 32GB mSATA SSD after a Windows 10 update
Hi,
After a recent major Windows 10 update, my Intel Rapid Storage Technology decided to stop working and as a result my laptop has been much slower to boot and wake up.
My 3 year old Inspiron 7720 came with mSATA 32GB SSD that accelerates the 1TB hard drive. I used to be able to choose to accelerate the drive when I open Intel Rapid Storage Technology Manager, but now I can't even see the mSATA SSD in the manager. Also, when I go to the BIOS settings, it says something like "mSATA: No", so the BIOS doesn't see it either. I tried re-seating the SSD but that didn't help. I repaired the iRST manager installation, no go. I uninstalled it and reinstalled it, no go. I tried seeing the drive using diskpart, it wasn't there as well. I looked for updates using intel driver updates but didn't find any.
My Intel Rapid Start Manager stopped opening too, and when I reinstalled it, it started giving a "This computer does not meet the minimum requirements for installing the software." message.
Any tips for troubleshooting this?

Time for a Class Action Lawsuit,Nobody has a YY9RM battery for the Studio 15Z (1569)
The Dell Studio 15Z windows 7 laptop (1569) worked like a charm until the battery YY9RM dies. The other problem with this laptop is that when the hard drive fails you have to almost disassemble the entire laptop to get to the hard drive because there is no hard drive door on the bottom. If I knew that I would have not purchased it.........
Its time for a class action lawsuit to force them to have the batteries made for the thousands of people who purchased them or reimburse everyone 799.00 for the laptop they purchased that is now a desktop! Always has to be plugged in, that is ***.
Many overseas vendors on Alibaba.com all show the battery in stock until you email them. I have at least 15 customers that purchased this laptop and I have 1 too. Its *** that they want so much for a replacement but none are available. Laptop batteries should cost 20-40 dollars maximum for any laptop.
Dell should be forced to pay vendors to create what we need for a reasonable price or refund the price of the doorstop, I mean laptop.
I am *** off like everyone else in this discussion.

Sticker removal from new 7368 laptop
Hello,
I would like to remove the large square sticker from the left side of the touchpad without scratching the surface. Is this sticker supposed to be permanent or can it be removed? I have tried to peel it off at the corner, but it does not want to come off. I don't want to damage to corner, if it is supposed to stay put. If I peel it off, will it leave a mark?
This is a trivial question, but I appreciate an answer in order to avoid making a mistake.
