Hello,
I have a Dell Inspiron I5 / 5000 series which would not start on pressing the power button. I called Dell while it was still under warranty (it is out of warranty now), and they advised to simply remove the battery, and reinsert it. The laptop started fine after this tweak. However, it has done the same now on two more occasions, and worked after doing exactly the same each time.
This is now turning out to be a botheration. Would someone advise on a permanent fix?

Can someone assists me, in regards to how I can remove or reset the DDP security in BIOS, to disable it.
I just purchased a new XPS laptop and the D3100 docking station. I need to connect a Focusrite Saffire Pro 14 that has a 6 pin Firewire 400 out.
Should I connect directly to the XPS via the Thunderbolt port using the Apple sold Thunderbolt to FIrewire adapter?
Is there a way for me to connect with the dock via the Thunderbolt compatible USB 3 ports?

Dell Inspiron 15R N5110 (purchased in 2011 ) sometimes numeric button not working and touchpad. If I press 6 then it print continuously 666666666666666666666666666666666 like this, if I do scroll down then it will be doing same for a while. please suggest what to do.

Ever since I bought my XPS13 a bit more then a year ago with the 12000 Dell Power bank, I encountered problems. At some instances, when the power companion is put into my laptop, the speakers become distorted, and the laptop becomes very slow and sluggish. The sound gets back to normal when I pause music for a minute or so. However, the computer runs still slow/sluggish since two weeks now.
I see it especially in the browser (edge), as the cursor becomes sluggish when hovering over buttons, and in general the browser is very slow in responsiveness...
I already ran a bloatware test, and a AVG scan!
Hope someone would be able to help me!

I wandered if it is at all possible for me to purchase a Blu-Ray internal optical drive for my Dell Inspiron 6400 laptop?
If so would I need to change the drive bezel in order to install it?
Also another question with the Dell Inspiron 6400.....
I am looking to fit an SSD inside of the machine rather than the standard conventional hard drive that is already installed, is this possible?

I recently purchased a Dell Inspron 7559 laptop. It arrived on the 31st August. The issue I have is that the service tag is not recognised on the Dell site. I get the following message when I enter the service tag: -
There’s no match for that Service Tag or Express Service code. Retype the code or select your product below. Allow 48 hours for new devices to register on our site.
It's been well over 48 hours since the machine was registered.

i havent been able to find a solution on the web about the issue i am experiencing,
The issue is following:
The Notebook has a SIM Card Slot and we installed a Sim in it, installed the current Driver and everything. Unfortunatly i am not able to Access it in any way. It doesn't Show up on the WiFi networklist at all.
So i cant even unlock it with the pin.
Anyone have a succetion i might try?

Hello, I am planning to buy i a new laptop with 64gb ram. Found that Precision 15 7000 Series (7510) supports 64gb ram. can i reconfigure this laptop to come with only on board intel graphic card. I have upgraded my XPS 9333 with new HDD Samsung 850 EVO 500GB mSATA. I was trying to install clean Windows 10 but without any success. The installation freeze every time after first boot and I have a blank screen. It usually freeze after "Getting devices ready" information. I can install Windows 7 without any problems. The HDD firmware is up to date. Does anyone has a similar issue? Thank you.

While trying to solve the sleep, no sleep problem after win10 upgrade, I tried to install the
firmware update recommend in Haswell ME FW v9.5.55.1948 update.
The file downloaded, I ran it and now I'm stuck on 4% install for the past hour. see text below.

Greetings, I've had an XPS 9550 since mid January. Was an Apple guy for a decade but wanted to get into gaming. While I'm having to get used to video_scheduler crashing my computer all the time and the audio jack isn't plug and play all the time, it's a good computer.
A month ago the touchpad started to rise so that I can now get a finder nails underneath and the bottom corners are no longer clicking. I can still click near the white line so I'm guessing there is just dirt. Is this a common problem?
I have a new Dell XPS 13 Linux edition (this one) and immediately installed Linux Mint 18 on it, wiping the Ubuntu 14.04 which was shipped with the it.
I am really confident with it, only the backlight for the keyboard is not working. I have a keyboard light symbol on my F10 key but when I press it, nothing happens. All other features and all other media controls/media keys/screen brightness keys work. When clicking the battery icon in the Linux Mint taskbar, I see 2 controls, one for the keyboard lights brightness and one for the screen brightness. When I drag those bars, only the screen brightness is working again.
I also see the settings in /sys/class/leds/dell\:\:kbd_backlight/ (I think that's the config folder for it). The brightness file in this directory contains "1", so as I understand this correctly, this should theoretically work.
As I noted before I immediately installed Linux Mint on it, so I can't say whether it worked before. And this is really the only thing which is not working on the laptop.
I have obviously checked that my ultrabook has backlights with the product number on its back.
Do you have some tips so I can get this to work? Thanks in advance!
A client's laptop will not load Windows 10 with latest updates installed from power on while it is plugged into the docking station. The screen will be black with white circling dots. The client can undock and boot the laptop just fine and plug it into the docking station afterwards. Not entirely sure why it's not booting while docked though.

I want to buy a graphics amplifier for my alienware 13, but I have a doubt. Currently I use my laptop screen plus 26 inches monitor, I wonder if the amplifier graphics could still use the same configuration.
I would also like to expand the RAM and web kingston recommended me a Impact DDR3L 1866MHz CL11 SODIMM modules.

I'm just completely stumped. My laptop will just not turn on. Last week it was having issues saying that the battery was too hot, but I was able to fix it. It happened twice doing this last week. I took the battery out, and would turn it on using the AC adapter. Well, now this week it will not turn on. Yesterday I shut down the laptop completely before going to work and making sure it had a full charge. Now it will not work at all. Removing the battery and turning on using the AC adapter does not work, and I just have 0 power. I checked the AC adapter to make sure it works with a family member's laptop, and it does. Any help would be greatly appreciated as I am a student and really need it to work.

We've got several Dell latitude e7270 (BIOS 01.07.03). These machines will require the recovery key when they are connected to a Dell dock. Every. Time.
Even after we've done the "suspend protection" and re-enabled it, it still requires the bit key.
Anyone else having this problem?
Saw a similar post about this, but the solution to that was the newest BIOS, 1.2.0 fixed it, but we're still experiencing it.

My new Dell XPS 15 won't turn on. Last week I had a similar situation, and I had to press the button several times once to get it to turn on with similar behavior. Now it won't turn on at all. I can get the LED lights to start blinking, always showing the same pattern - 4 white blinks, 2 amber blinks, and I can get this to turn off by holding the power button down. Any ideas? It is only a month old...

I switched over to the new Windows 10 update a couple weeks back, and felt fine doing it since my laptop was listed as being tested for the new update.
Everything was fine until I noticed that I couldn't play any MOBAs. Dota 2 and LoL both completely freeze my laptop any time they load the main screen. Once they freeze, there is nothing I can do, no ctrl+alt+delete, no nothing. I just have to hard reset the computer. Every other game runs just fine, so I don't know what the problem is or how to fix it. Any help would be much appreciated.
I have an Inspiron 5558 and all of the drivers are up to date with what Dell has on their website.
Do I have to send it to a Dell repair place somewhere in the U.S. or can I bring it to a local place in the Chicago area? I can't be without my laptop for more than a few days so sending it through the mail is not an option.
I am a little shocked that this very expensive laptop would have problems within the first 2 months. When I pay $2,500 I am expecting a little quality and quality control.
In the mean time, I will use my Bluetooth speaker or my home speakers but it really *** knowing my sound will be bad if I go on the road and can't bring my other equipment with me.
