So my Dell is just sitting at "updating your system 8%". When I turn it on this is as far as it gets. Before it would just do a blank screen. I did the take battery out unplug it and push power button for 58 secs. This is as far as I am. Any advice would be great.

Dell Inspiron 7537 Microphone Hardware Tilting Screen Problem - Dell Unhelpful
Since a few weeks ago, my microphone has only been working when tilting the screen forward. I saw a previous discussion (http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/windows_vista-pictures/microphone-not-working-that-in-installed-in-my/f4e6d450-8bee-4981-9afc-9f5b86a633f0?auth=1 ) where people have reported similar problems. Although my laptop was still under warranty when I reported the problem to Dell, they proceeded to sending me an onsite technician with a repair microphone part who said that he could not replace just the microphone because I had a touchscreen (you would think Dell would have checked to send the right part), then a refurbished new screen that did not work at all on my computer, and then refused to solve the problem by arguing that my system was no longer under warranty (which it was not by the time they finally sent the non working screen and I called back to ask for another one to be sent—it was all problems from their side). Wondering if anyone has had a similar problem and if they were able to fix it themselves, as now my microphone is not working at all, not even when I tilt the screen.
I have also noticed the same problem for the touch screen. It only works when the screen is tilted forward, and I am afraid that, like the microphone, it will reach a point of no return. It seems to me that there is some faulty wiring from the screen components into the base. Any help would be much appreciated!

Laptop Battery!!!!
I have a problem with the laptop battery it gradually drained and can't be recharged above 33% but i bought a new one and bec.ithought tht the problem is with the battery bec.it was too old but the new one had the same problem until it dropped to 59% and i didn't try anything so I need help !!!

touchpad buttons keep switching after touchpad update
I did a touchpad update and now the buttons switch around. when one works the other will pop up with a tiny menu ive never seen before. If both buttons work the touchpad wont work. I have put them to default and it works for a bit then will switch again. Didn't have this problem till that stupid update. I have a dell 15-3552 laptop and its less than 2 months old.

(Specifically I have an M7710)
The reviews look pretty good and one reviewer looked at the output with his oscilloscope "to check the "Pure Sine Wave" on the Yeti-400 AC output and I found a very nice sine wave with low harmonic distortion 150vp 60Hrz and 110vac RMS" so I'm assuming the dell power adapter wouldn't notice the difference between plugging into this and the wall outlet.
But I just wanted to check and see if anyone has feedback before ordering.
(There's no power companion available for the 7700 series laptops or I would go that way)

I'm just going to copy paste my review.
Overall this laptop is fine except for the plastic frame and keyboard being way worse than any other laptop I've used. A key became loose simply because I had a game where I pressed it too much, no exceptional force applied. I've replaced keys in other keyboards and this has the most tiny, hard to manipulate plastic hinges of all of them. For other keyboards, either peeling off the key from the top or bottom is easy. For this neither is, and if you risk it there's a very good chance you'll break the drips of plastic that hold the key to the hinge.
to avoid damage to the power cord, i taped the end of up so it wouldn't bend. After that, just by lifting my laptop up and down in normal use, the laptop was literally pried apart at the corner, had to get it repaired. The taped power cord was more stable than the chasis. Now, I don't necessarily blame this on Dell, but it does speak to the build quality, in addition simply inspecting the sides of the laptop and applying a little pressure with my FINGERNAILS, which should never destroy a laptop, a bit of border plastic popped off and despite seemingly having connectors to snap back on, it would not.Dell obviously cut corners or skimped when it came to this laptop's body to cut costs and have a more attractive sticker price. I could rate it perhaps a 2 because it's good performance, but with all the laptops on the market, one that is so fragile that it may as well have been put together for a school project, with a keyboard that can be ruined just by pressing a key many times for a game, is not worth going for.

E7450/7470 wifi off after removing network cable
Hi everyone, we are having issues with all of our Latitude E7450's and E7470's not reconnecting to wifi after being connected to LAN. The problem occurs when you have been connected to a dock or directly to an ethernet cable, when removing from the dock or unplugging the network cable the wifi adaptor stays off and cannot be turned on via the proset software, the only sollution is to reset the proset software or reboot the laptop.
E7470's are running drivers 18.12.0.0687 as are the 7450's
Has anyone come across this?

Dell Inspiron 13 7368 Touch Screen Problem
I purchased a dell inspiron 13 7368 a month back. The touch screen from the past three days stops working randomly. Haven't been able to figure out the problem. My friend who purchased the same laptop is also facing a similar issue. I have tried updating drivers and also updated the bios but still no help. Diagnostics shows as the device is working fine but the screen is non-responsive. Any ideas would be appreciated.

PLEASE help - Latitude E6410 Overheating!
Hello everyone- I bought this Dell Latitude E6410 off of ebay recently and it's been nothing but a nightmare...
Here is my issue- the laptop gets VERY hot during normal usage... For example, just typing this message it's hovering around 85 degrees Celsius. I have tried literally everything- running Linux instead of Windows 7, I poked around in the bios and found nothing, replaced the CPU fan, replaced thermal paste and installed a copper shim on the GPU, did a deep dust cleaning of the entire thing....
I've noticed that the fan doesn't even spool up until the CPU and GPU start hitting around 75c?!
Running prime95, the laptop began to climb to about 95 degrees Celsius before I immediately stopped the test....
Is this how these laptops are meant to run? I should mention that I am using the model with the i7-620m and the NVIDIA 3100m.
Any help is greatly appreciated, as I really like the design and speed of the laptop... its just too hot to use.

Prevent battery failure message on startup
Hi,
the battery of my Alienware 15 R2 has failed after 1 year and 7 days (coincidence?). I am not going to replace it anytime soon and I just want to get rid of the annoying BIOS message: "Your battery has experienced permanent failure and needs to be replaced. Press F1 to continue or F2 to enter setup". I just don't want to press F1 every time I boot my PC. Is it possible to disable the warning? Consider that I already tried to disable 'Adaptor warnings' from BIOS, but the message persists.

Inspiron 17 5759 Power
Hi,
The power button does not seem to be working correctly. Sometimes it sounds as though the computer may power, sometimes LED blinks 2 amber and 4 white repeatedly, sometimes it will just blink white with the caps too, after about 5 minutes of trying it comes on....
Is it the button? Harware? Fixable?
Bought this second hand, and it still has warrantee - probably

XPS 9550 BIOS A06 still recommended
For anyone having issues with BIOS updates (up to A12 now), I still recommend you to use BIOS A06, which does at least not have the following two issues:
- Heavy brightness flickering on any brightness level. (Introduced in A10.)
- Battery does not charge above 60% (Not fully tested, but mine is at 73% now and not charging, thus confirming this report. P.s. this is already a battery replacement) (This was introduced in A12.)
I upgraded to the latest BIOS (A12) in conjunction with the latest Intel HD Graphics drivers just released today (A07), in conjunction with a fresh motherboard and screen replacement. These are most definitely not hardware issues!
While debugging the issue for which I got the hardware replacements (random touch screen input), I also found out that brightness flickering on A12 (did not check A10) primarily occurs while charging. Likewise, it seems that my random touch screen input only occurs while charging. Does anyone else encounter this?
I recommend Dell to rather than wasting resources on product support, hardware replacements, and time of customers, to simply address the real issue here. Contact whoever is in charge of these firmware releases. They are doing a horrendous job implementing them, if not at the very least, properly testing them.
Please let me know once a BIOS version has been released addressing both these issues explicitly. I will no longer upgrade until this happens.

lcd display not working

I have a Dell Inspiron 15 N5010 which is not under warranty. Its lcd is not turning on when I press power botton. It continuously make 8 beep sound. I tried to connect using external moniter using VGA cable and HDMI. On connecting using VGA cable display is not clear. Windows is turning on but cannot see after bootloader. Tried to enter into bootsetup but cannot see display. On connecting using HDMI cable nothing is displayed.
please help.

I need info on a replacement hard drive.
Today my hard drive died.
Before a pull it out I need to know what size " physical dimensions" I will need to get for the new drive. My laptop is an Inspiring N4110. Also is there a driver disc I might purchase as it was a used computer and did not come with any thing but the computer its self.

Should i increase RAM from 4gb to 8gb
I have Dell inspiron 5521 laptop.It has processor Intel(R)Core(TM) i-5 -3337u CPU @ 1.80GHz and RAM is 4.00GB(3.87 GB usable) .IT has 64 bit operating system,x-64 -based processor.When i bought laptop 3 years back my laptop had windows 8 operating system which i updated to windows -8.1 single language.
Currently i have Android Studio installed on my laptop and Eclipse too as i am working with Android and Java but my laptop is getting hanged very much.Is it because of Android Studio?.So i am thinking to add extra RAM to laptop so can you suggest me whether i should add extra RAM ?Is the slot available for adding extra RAM to my laptop?How much extra RAM i should add?Kindly provide me answer to it.
