Hi everyone,

First of all, please excuse my English ;)

Someone gave me his former laptop N5010, the HDD was broken. I spent some money to buy a SSD and to upgrade the RAM, everything was working fine, and I don't know why I tried to update the BIOS...

I downloaded the A15 version on the Dell website, started the EXE file, and while updating from A4 to A15, the screen went black. I waited for a long moment and decided to remove the battery.

As a result, now the laptop is not working anymore.Black screen with beep while "booting".

I followed many "tricks" to recover the bios, they were all marked as solved for everyone but me, this one for exemple : http://bit.ly/2cdODDc

I extracted a rom file from the EXE bios update with Windows CMD prompt C:\BIOS.EXE /writeromfile , with Phoenix Tool I created a bootable USB, put the BIOS.ROM (renamed BIOS.WPH) on the flash drive, removed the battery, plugged the flash drive, hold the end button while plugging the AC cord ... But nothing interesting happened ...

Still not working...

Team Dell,

Please note that I have taken a Dell Vostro 1015 laptop but I am not be able to activate Wifi and Bluetooth for my internet connection.

And my OS is Windows 7 64 bit.

I have downloaded Wifi driver from Dell website but that is not working in in my laptop.

 Error is comming this software not supported your laptop.

 Kindly advise which version shall I download or kindly forward me link to download the Wifi driver and bluetooth driver which support my laptop.

 Your assistance will be appreciate if you reply faster on my mail.

hi guys,

i am using a vostro 3550 and its about 4 years old.From last week,i started experiencing some issues with booting of my laptop.when power button is pressed,all lights turns on and after showing dell logo laptop turns off.Then it attempts to turn on and fail like before.but some times it works normally.also while i am working in the laptop it shuts down automatically.....

i did the ePSA test and the tests available in dell support and it passed all tests.....

hope that someone can help me to solve this issue......thanks in advance......

i don't know the exact model 17 i have but i can't get it to boot past the dell logo

had it on sleep mode (i have ti set to sleep every time i close the lid) last night went to sign in & it wouldn't finish loading past the logging in screen

i got the blue screen & it restarted on me & now i can't get past the dell screen. the progress/loading bar goes about 3/4 of the way through then stops & nothing happens

not one single button works

can't get to boot options, can't get to setup, can't get into safe mode, nothing works

nothing is plugged in, battery & cord seem fine

i can't hear anything turning on inside the laptop not even the fan

tried taking out the battery & pressing the power button thing still nothing

no warranty

ESC, ~,TAB, CAPS, 1, Q, A, and Z keys working intermittently... (more not than working).

NOW that Dell KNOWS about the above keys not working correctly... does anyone know if they have found a solution yet?? My warranty expires in Nov and I've been dealing with this (real pain in the ***) problem for a good 2-3 months now and my hubby wants me to buy a new laptop (certainly NOT another DELL after THIS problem) instead of trying to fix this Inspiron 11, model # 3147. Well... it's only 10 months old and still under warranty. I REFUSE to keep wasting my money on laptops and want to have this one repaired under warranty.

I ALSO noticed in the last few months, there is an exorbitant amount of heat coming mostly from the left underside bottom, so much so... that I have to use a lap desk in order to keep my lap from burning up. This might be contributing to the problems of the keyboard. I just want to be able to use it. My only fear is... I get it repaired and then it fails again for the same reason in a few months.... then what???

From reading ALL the blogs on THIS problem... I'm loosing confidence in Dell's products.

So I've tried to press the power button, obviouslly, but the laptop won't turn on. Not a single beep or flicker fron the power light occurs. It's like the laptop's dead. But when I connect the AC charger the light indicating that the laptop is charging is on....

Last thing I did: The laptop warned me that I have a low battery but I kept working... so ecentually it turned off automattically. I tried to turn it on again... without charging the battery... then it turned on, then of again... thereafter when i got home, I charged the laptop but when I press the power button... it doesn't start... can somebody help mee

I am using inspiron 3521

OS : Windows 10 Pro (Genuine)

I have updated the os from Windows 8.1 to Windows 10. The 2 finger tap for right click is not working in the new version of touchpad. Is there any new option in the new version ? because my right button wont work and I use only 2 finger tap for right click. Please help me

I installed Ubuntu 16.04 on my XPS 13 9350.  It does have the Broadcom wifi/bt adapter.

My wifi issue is the computer will not connect to my 5GHZ network. Every time I try it just fails to connect and asks me for the password even though it's correct.  I can connect to my 2.4ghz but not the 5ghz

My BT issue is I have always have to repair my BT mouse when the computer restarts.

I previously had a 9343 and I had no issues like this.  I was able to connect to my 5ghz network and using Bluetooth manager as a trusted device my mouse always reconnected at a reboot.  

I know there are some issues with Broadcom adapters but my 9343 had one and I did not have this issue at all.  Is it just because the 9350 has a newer broadcom chip so it's not fully supported?

I have 6 year old Alienware m11x R.2 running Windows 7 x64 SP1. Since the ole' computer is still alive and kickin; I thought i'd do a quick upgrade on the RAM for an inexpensive upgrade.

I'm far from an expert but have built my own PC and have torn down and rebuilt this particular laptop (amongst others) several times. Upgrading RAM has always been something that requires very little thought or planning other than making sure you have compatible specs.

I upgraded the RAM this laptop came with a year after purchase to a Kingston Hyper-X. www.newegg.com/.../Product.aspx

I recall having no issues installing this RAM and it's been perfectly fine since then.

A few weeks ago I ordered DDR3L RAM, after having trouble starting the computer I realized the error but was also told that L RAM should still be compatible with 1.5V sockets. But perhaps it was a compatibility issue so I returned it for regular DDR3 RAM shown here. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820231582

Aside from the actual size of the RAM I see no other difference with the specs.

Here's the issue: when I install the new RAM I'm asked to do a startup repair. No matter if I select run the repair or run windows normally I'm sent back to boot-up. This repeats endlessly. When I re-install the old RAM the same screen comes up but I'm able to proceed to startup or I can choose to run the repair. (I've done both.) This happens with both DDR3 and DDR3L RAM. No difference.

I've triple checked that the RAM is installed properly and BIOS sees all 16gb.

Any advice and help is appreciated. Thank you.

Hi Folks,

Please help me, I have pulled my hair out trying to make a 256 gig msata a true boot drive with no other hard drive in system.

However I can get it to work by having the msata boot but the system reserved partition sets on a nother hard drive. which when I pull the hard drive out of system it will not boot. but if I put a windows os disk in dvd drive and let it find it first it will then go ahead and boot from msata.

I am sure other people has had this problem and some body has figured it out, but not me.

If I use Dells directions it does work but it puts the system reserved on a hard drive rather then msata

PLEASE SOMEBODY HELP ME IF POSSIBLE

Since I found out the Right click on Dell Touchpad was not working.

I uninstalled its driver, then downloaded the file on Dell website, then reinstall it.

But, the right click on Touchpad is still not working!

I am using Windows 10.

Please advise me how to make it work?

I got a big issue during a discussion with my colleagues. I saw wifi connection, connected but no internet. I need "right click" to do troubleshooter, but I was not able to do so! So shame for that as my colleagues thought I did not prepare everything well!

I have a Dell Inspiron 15R (N5110) laptop with i5 processor.. It has a 1TB 5400RPM SATA Hard Drive..

I wanted to know if I can change this to an SSD hard drive and whether this model is compatible with SSD hard drives..

My laptop is around 4 years old..

At several occasions now, my trackpad two-finger-scrolling stops functioning as it should after some time of using the system. It seems the gesture is still recognized, but it is handled incorrectly: rather than scrolling 'within' the selected window, the whole window seems to 'bounce' indicating I can't scroll any further. Scrolling with an external mouse works fine, as does scrolling with the touchscreen, as does moving the mouse to the scrollbar and click-dragging.

I have updated all latest drivers, except the BIOS which is on A06 since I do not want to upgrade it (yet) since the higher versions currently cause the screen's brightness to flicker. Unless this BIOS is known to address these issues (not listed in the details) I do not see a reason to upgrade it (again).

Worth noting is that this issue only seems to arise after some time of using the system (possibly after a few sleep sessions?).

After returning from sleep, the external monitor does not seem to 'wake up'.

In order for it to receive input I need to unplug the HDMI cable and plug it in again.

I have updated all latest drivers, except the BIOS which is on A06 since I do not want to upgrade it (yet) since the higher versions currently cause the screen's brightness to flicker. Has anyone else had problems with their touchscreens?

At times I receive random touchscreen input, above and below the actual touch point. This renders the touchscreen unusable.

I noticed that when unplugging the AC adapter this issue is resolved, and at times stays 'fixed' when plugging it in again, although not always. I have yet to encounter the issue to occur without the laptop being plugged in.

This seems to be indicative of faulty HW. I also have other problems with the display, namely incorrect color presentations in mainly dark areas. Before, (with a new laptop) I needed a battery replacement because the battery was no longer recognized after just one week of usage. Possibly all of these are somehow related to a faulty unit?

I have about 5 DVDs I purchased over the last year that won't read on my DVD player.  Even had a couple from the local library that wouldn't play. Got lots that will play. Any suggestions? Windows 7. Thanks
