Using Dell Inspiron 15-5568 in tablet mode - how to pull up a Yahoo email message

$

I just bought an Inspiron 15-5568.  I put it into tablet mode and I'm trying to pull up an email in my Yahoo Inbox using IE.  I double-tap on one of the email messages in my inbox to pull it up.  Instead of pulling up the message, the double-tap zooms in the entire IE screen.  Another double-tap zooms it out again. I've tried a number of different operations to pull up an email message but nothing works.  I can get a context menu to appear next to a message but there's no option to Read or View the message.  If I was using a mouse, I would double-click the message and it would come up.

I reviewed the user guide but it's not of much help.

Can someone please tell me how to pull up an email message in Yahoo or Google Mail with an Inspiron 15-5568 in tablet mode?  It seems like this should be very simple but it's not.

Thanks in advance.

My BIOS is messed up really bad, and how do i fix it?

My BIOS is messed up really bad.

It is a Dell Inspiron 1501 laptop.  On the security settings:

Supervisor password: Clear

User password: Clear

HDD password: Frozen

I tried to run a few BIOS freeware clear programs, and I have tried to remove the battery and press the power button for 30 seconds to try to force reset the BIOS back to defaults, but still no luck.  I cannot boot to windows normally or into safe mode in anyway without it rebooting non-stop on the test screen.

i am currently using Mini Windows XP on the same laptop that is having this issue off the CD Hirren's Boot CD.

It is able to boot from a disk, or USB, but the not he hard drive.

Please respond to this ASAP with ideas on how to fix this issue or email me at:

Jonathan112_112@outlook.com

Thanks in advance,

Jon

Hi,

I have DELL Inspiron 15R 5520 and for some reason i cannot update BIOS from Windows and i want to make a bootable USB Drive to update BIOS from outside Windows but i can't find the proper software to make my USB drive bootable for my specific laptop model.

I tried the following tutorial which was made by Dell:

www.dell.com/.../EN

Unfortunately, the software mentioned there ( DDDP ) doesn't support my laptop model.

Please tell me how to make a bootable USB for my laptop in order to update BIOS properly.

Thank You.

USB-C conmpatibility

I found by bitter experience that USB-C in DELL Inspiron is not compatible with USB-C on DELL AD200 adapter.

To connect the Inspiron 7368 to external monitors and projectors I have to buy another USB-C to VGA/HDMI/USB 3.0/Ethernet adapter.

All offers for USB-C adapters mention that it is for MacBook.

Please reply to the following questions:

1. What is the underlying standard behind the USB-C connector on the Inspiron 7368 2-in-1: USB 2.0, 3.0, 3.1, Thunderbolt or some other standard?

2. Are USB-C adapters for MacBook compatible with the USB-C connector on DELL Inspiron 7368?

2. What can be done and what cannot be done with the USB-C on the Inspiron 7368:

  • is it bi-directional, i.e. can it charge the battery of the laptop from an external power bank AND charge other devices like smartphones?
  • connect to external monitor's DisplayPort or HDMI via an adapter?
  • connect to Ethernet via USB-C - RJ45 adapter?
  • connect to USB 3.0 and/or 3.1 devices?

I'm trying to make sure I don't have an incorrect setting.  In the BIOS, under System and "Drives" both the SATA-2 and PCIE M.2 boxes are checked.  What does the SATA-2 setting mean?

Hi,

I'm trying to reset my votro130 to original setting.

I've installed Dell Beckup and Recovery and tried to run it.

My run failed with the following information recorded as an event report:

System encountered an unhandled exception.

Whats' wrong?

Can anything be done to facilitate recovery?

Reinstalling WIn 10 to DELL XPS12, supplied with Win 8 OEM

I MAY HAVE TO reinstall Windows unfortunately as I can't reclaim ownership of my C drive, though can access files on it. (Screenshot)- trying to find workround.

If I can't recover ownership and have to reinstall Windows (don't think Dell came with a Win8 b\ up disc), would I then have to pay to upgrade back to Win 10, now we're out of free period??

Laptop blackscreens after attempting a BIOS update

$

I have an Alienware 15 R2, and I recently went to Dell's product support page and proceeded to the
"Drivers and downloads" section. I installed around 4 updates, but the last update (regarding the BIOS) needed a manual install, so I looked up the instructions, which was basically to download the update, double click it and let it do all the work. I am not sure which update I downloaded (probably the latest one) but after double clicking it and leaving my laptop alone, it blackscreened. No button nor the mousepad is responsive, I have left the charger on since then and I have not turned my laptop off at all. The keyboard is still lit up and all the lights are on, but the screen is black and unresponsive.

I've read that interrupting a BIOS update can damage your computer, but I did not do anything in any way to interrupt the process.
I'm no so sure what I should do now, I'll be calling tech support after the weekend, but before that, does anyone have any suggestions as to what I should do?

When I close the laptop, often the computer does not sleep and I reach in my bag and the laptop is red hot.

Battery is almost always dead when I take the computer out.

This is very frustrating as I bought this item a few months ago.

Fingerprint reader stopped working immediately after Windows 10 Anniversary update (version 1607)

Hello. . .

I use the fingerprint reader to login to my Latitude E5550 every time.  However, I was unable to do so after the latest Windows 10 update (version 1607).

  • It did still show in the Windows Device Manager (i.e., no "Unknown Device" listed)
  • I went into the DDP Console to try to register a new fingerprint (for troubleshooting), but it wasn't reading the swipes
  • I attempted to update to the latest firmware/drivers, but that only caused unknown devices to show up in the Device Manager (ControlVault Firmware v3.3.15.0 and ControlVault Drivers v3.3.14.68)
  • Switched back to the older driver (v3.0.48.26) and all devices were once again recognized

Any suggestions for how to get around this?  It's not the end of the world, but I *really* like using the fingerprint reader (I paid extra for) to login.  If I can provide additional helpful information, please let me know.

Thanks!
