i have purchased a second hand Latitude E5540. The problem is that nothing shows up on the internal display, when i connect a display to the VGA port it works fine. Even during POST so it can't be driver related. Loading defaults in BIOS and updating it to the newest version didn't help.
Any ideas what to try?

Today i format my E6500 hard drive...When im going to dell support page to download drivers for my laptop giving me big list of available drivers........Do i have to install all of them?How i know which one is for my model...I add my service tag system found my model but is giving me option for different type of drivers for the same device..Lets say for wireless modem giving me option for dell 5540 dell 5530 and conexant D330...which one i have to install and how to know that...these happen for almost all of devices...

My laptop doesn't work at all. I have bought a new adapter and a DC Jack to hope that the laptop start. No succes. I don't know what the problem is. Any suggestions? Can sombody help? My laptop is now 3 years old and i have No support.
Hello all, I have a Inspiron 15 7000 Series 7559. I got this laptop about 10 months ago, yesterday I restarted my laptop and than I ran into the problem of it not working. At first I got the error code : 0x80070002 . I tried looking it up and doing some things they said and none of it worked so I shut it off and went to bed. This afternoon when I got off work I tried again. Turning the laptop on and it shows preparing automatic repair, than a small box appears for a second on a black screen and than the laptop goes into a choose option menu with the following options : continue to Windows 10 / use a device / troubleshoot / turn off pc. I have tried all of these options and nothing works ;l( I've tried restarting the whole laptop and when I do it fails and says error and all it says is it can't be done than goes back to the option screen. If anyone could help please that would be great! Thank you!
Hey folks. I've got a Latitude E5270 and love it, but the 128GB M.2 SSD is too small. I would like to upgrade to a new Samsung EVO 950 SSD, but someone told me the BIOS won't even see it. Other said it may not be compatible without some special adapter.
From what I can see after inspecting the current SSD and the way it's installed, the Samsung SSD would fit, but I'm dead in the water if the BIOS won't see it in order to install Windows 7 Pro. I'm also being led to believe by Microsoft that this system cannot upgrade to Windows 10 for some reason, but that's another discussion.
Any thoughts on the SSD situation by someone who's tried this upgrade?
I bought a new adapter and a new DC Jack but still the laptop won't start. I hope you can help. The laptop is 3 years old and i have No support from Dell.

I have a Dell inspiron 7720 R (3D) with motherboard problem. The model of the motherboard is DA0R09MB6H1 REV H. I bought the same model (DA0R09MB6H1 REV: H) to replace but for my surprise the motherboard LCD connector in new board is LVDS and my LCD flat cable is eDP!
This is the versions... its the same!!!
But, for my surprise... the LCD connectors are different

It is possible to change the flat cable? in my research i need a flat cable model 0K2M54 and my original flat cable is 07JFX4. My LCD screen is 3D, may be i will lost this function but i dont care! My question is, the LCD will work if a change flat cable??? A flat cable is cheaper than a new motherboard... :)

I am having trouble with the USB controller driver from the cab files for my E5470 Laptop. I have tried all versions (A00, A01, A02, A03) of the cab files with the result that it blue screens after the image is dropped. When I exclude the driver from MDT and try to install the different versions, the OS blue screens again. The blue screen error code is listed as iusb3xhc.sys.
I would appreciate any direction in resolving this issue.

I recently updated this 15Z laptop to W10 anniversary update, and now am getting an error message at boot-up that reads: "missing system32\eed_ec.dll". Anybody know how to resolve this? Can I copy this file from another computer and paste it into system32 on this laptop? I tried scannow and no errors were reported.

I have a E5470 laptop that I am unable to find the driver for, I am able to get the software installed, however the driver is missing. The cab files for deployment does not seem to have this driver and I am not able to locate it anywhere in the downloads area.

Hello - I have a new Dell Inspiron 3558 that came with Windows 10 installed. For some reason the touchpad keeps turning itself back on despite turning EVERYTHING off under settings. It's not always on but when it does turn itself on it competes with the Mouse and is becoming annoying. I'd appreciate your assistance. Thanks
I created a usb recovery drive in W10 1511, but now have updated to W10 1607 (anniversary update). I want to update my recovery drive to that level, but get an error message that some files are missing and cannot create a recovery drive. How to solve?
When I press the on button on my Alienware M11x I get a screen that says the following:
"Windows failed to start. A recent hardware or software change might be the cause.
If Windows files have been damaged or configured incorrectly, Startup Repair can help diagnose and fix the problem, If power was interrupted during startup, choose Start Windows Normally.
(Use the arrow keys to highlight your choice.)
Launch Startup Repair (Recommended)

and etc.
Either choice never reaches Windows loading. Selecting "Start Windows Normally" goes to black screen.
Is this a possible hard drive problem or something else? Any advice would much appreciated.

When I am using this device in normal laptop mode, all is great. When I want to use in tablet mode and the screen is laying against the bottom of the laptop, the screen turns off and locks as if I had closed it normally. Tablet mode works ok if I don't lay the screen all of the way back. If there is a couple inches of space it seems to work okay.
It's out of warranty and I can't send it back as I bought it from Tigerdirect.com and they essentially went out of business and had a fire sale. The new owners of Tigerdirect Business wouldn't accept any returns.

I've ordered an Inspiron 3558, which indicates that it comes with drivers for an Intel 3160 wifi/Bluetooth card. Does anyone know what kind of interface this card uses? In the "specifications" tab on the reference guide, it says there's one M.2 port for a wifi/Bluetooth card. That's the only mention I can find. I'd like to put a better card in it; can I replace the 3160 with a newer Intel, say, the 8260 or 8265, if it is indeed an M.2?

My 6400 laptop will not go to any internet sites. My settings including DHCP are normal, and there are no error message, but every single website I go to times out.
The Network Diagnostics tool says my computer is configured correctly, but the device or resource is not responding. When running the tool on Wi-Fi, it also says there’s a problem with the wireless adapter or access point, but I’m confident there is no problem. I tried ipconfig/release /renew /flushdns, and none of that worked. When pinging any address, I get 4 general failures. I tried using my own wired and wireless networks as well as a Starbucks Wi-Fi and my laptop still refuses to connect to any sites. Lastly, I installed new drivers and not only did that not work, the Network Diagnostics tool says it can’t identify the problem.
Any ideas?
So i just bought this thing yesterday from office depot. what is happening is if i rest my forearms on the case of the laptop it will left click on the touch pad. which is very annoying since it always makes me start typing where ever my cursor is at that time. Also if and press very lightly up from the bottom of the laptop right below the touch pad and it will do the same thing i think something is screwy here.
I have this new computer and I am trying to download the Cyberlink essencial software, but I can´t get the Digital Delivery to work. After a while of seen the tool logo, I got the message that it couldn´t connect to the Internet and tool shuts down.
