  I have a Dell 7537 laptop with an Intel Core i7 running Windows 8.1 Pro, I've been ocurring a problem for about 2 months now and it hasn't been fixed yet... Upon pressing the start button the logo shows and then after a while it turns black, if I keep waiting it will simply stay like that eternally. Thus I have to shut it down from the power button and start it up again.

  This started randomly and hasn't stopped ever since, I read a forum regarding a similar problem and tried it's solution but didn't work for me.

Probably didn't work for me because of the fact that I don't have a CD-Drive in my laptop, not sure, though a solution to this would be much appreciated. Thanks

Hello!

i have  DELL Inspiron 15 7000 Series 7559  (win7 /64)  and  DELL D1000 docking station.

all the time then i connect DS to laptop it  shows only like a USB 2.0 MTT hub.

I have replaced DS but the same problem appears.

on others laptops (not dell) it works.. so seems it is Dell USB driver problem or something..

any idea how it can be solved?

Hi, 

My Dell Inspirion N4010 working smoothly, just next morning when I switch on NO Hard drive detected and go to PXE ROM msg and not boot due to no OS found. BIOS version I think needs to be updated as shows A08 where current version is A13. but since this BIOS file is EXE not even able to run from DOS. 

Please suggest what to do ASAP.

Dell Inspiron 14 5000 Series takes 10 minutes on Dell logo then another 10 minutes logging in on my account and 10 minutes for me to click anything on my desktop.

I did CHKDSK /f /r and SFC /scannow, still the same.

Hello,

im user of this notebook for 3 years and last 2 years i have problem with temperature.. I bought new heatpipe TYP01 with dual heatsink and notebook has still temp. about 90°C (CPU,GPU) HDD had 30°C.., I have last bios....is any chance to change thermal paste?... What kind of thermal paste use?....

Ive Windows 7, notebook is for programming, no gaming.......

My brand new Inspiron 7559 got delivered today that I bought on Amazon. The touchpad is completely unresponsive and the cursor does not even appear unless I plug in my external mouse. I looked under the device settings and there is no sign of any driver installed for the touchpad.. Can someone please point me in a direction for the right driver?

My slot load optical drive isn't spinning up.  It accepts a disc and then a moment later immediately ejects. I deleted the device and made windows find it again and reinstall the driver, but the problem persists.  The drive shows up in Explorer and computer management says it's working ok.  I'm assuming that it's toast.  Replacement looks fairly straightforward in some videos I found online, but I thought I would throw it out there in case anyone had a suggestion and/or the best place to buy a new one??

My niece bought a used Dell Vosotro 1440 laptop at a university sale.  It already had Windows 7 OS installed.  It had Wi-Fi capability and worked just fine.  She put in a password, but later forgot it.  She came to me for help.  I had no clue how to recover the password.

Since it was a used laptop, she did not have the original Windows 7 OS installation or repair disks.  And all I had was my own Windows Vista installation disk from my PC.  So I installed Vista on her laptop instead. 

Everything works fine now, except the laptop does not see any Wi-Fi signal.  The laptop uses the Realtek network hardware, and so I downloaded the driver from the Realtek website for Windows Vista and installed that.  Still nothing.

Does anybody know how to get the Wi-Fi back up and running?

Your help would be sincerely appreciated.

I have an Inspiron 5558 and periodically it appears to lock up and logs errors like this to the event log:

The IO operation at logical block address 6bac027 for Disk 0 was retried

This was occuring with the retail Toshiba slow HDD that shipped with the unit and so I decided it may have been faulty.  I replaced it with a Samsung 850 SSD and periodically I get the same issue!

I have upgraded the BIOS, tried with and without Intel RST drivers.  Problem still randomly occurs.

This is not a high load laptop - web and word processing!

I see others here report how slow their 5558 is and I wonder if they go into the Event Log/Windows/System, if they'd find similar logs.

I of course ran the Dell Diagnostics tool and it finds no drive or system errors... but they exist.

Any thoughts?  Is this a bad mainboard?

I have  INSPIRON laptop .. tried win 10 upgrade .. HW to compatable with win 10 and can not be upgraded to WIN 10 .. any fix, workaround or options to make it work beisdes buying a new laptop?

I'm coming through with this issue because I saw so many people (including dell tech support) struggling with this issue before.

The issue is as follows: you connect your laptop to the charger, the charging light goes on, windows says "charging", even the BIOS says charging, and yet, the battery's voltage just keeps going down no matter what you do about it..

Dell tech support usually try to guide you to reset the BIOS battery by removing the main battery and press the power button. but it's not the case here.

The solution I found was a very strange one, changing the RAM slot seemed to solve the issue completely.

Just taking the RAM card from one slot to the other. on one slot it's stopping your laptop from charging, on the other everything is good.

I honestly don't know why that is (and I'm a PC technician myself),  considering the laptop ships with two perfectly good RAM slots, but I thought the solution needs to be out there.

I'm hoping I managed to help some of you, (Even with my less then perfect English)

I have a Dell Inspiron 13 - P57G.

One of the most important features of the offered by Intel Skylake mobile CPUs series is Speed Shift, which improves CPU battery and speed performance. However, this featured came disabled on this model current latest BIOS (version 1.08). And there is no setting that allows to enable it. Other laptop manufacturers have this feature enabled in their current line of laptops. Dell support, please provide a BIOS that has this feature enabled or switchable.

I just tried it from WIN 7 Pro.....  This was even with the WIN 10 upgrader telling me that it didn't see any problems with me upgrading to Win 10.  HAH!!!

The whole thing came crashing down telling me that my OS had to be repaired but that it couldn't do thatbecause I wasn't on line and didn't know what else to do.  The entire computer was sitting dead in the water.

There was literally nothing I could do except a complete re-install of Win 7.  SO I did that and then I had all these WIN7 updates to install (again).... except that all my Dell drivers were wiped out as well.  So I had to download a Dell Lan driver just so I could plug it in to the internet and get all the rest of the Dell drivers that the WIN10 upgrade so nicely obliterated.  CURSE YOU WINDOWS 10 !!!!!!!

I finally, after 4.5 hours of messing with it and reinstalling my virus protection and assorted other headaches, I have WIN7 reinstalled and it will now even connect to a wireless connection.  (yes that driver was smoked as well.)

At any rate, DO NOT try to install WIN10 on an E6410 Latitude......no matter WHAT WIN10 tells you.

When my Inspiron 15 7568 is flipped around into tablet config, both touch and stylus stop working.

Is there a firmware fix?  It appears to be a problem inside the machine and not Windows.

When I open the lid all the way, a number of items instantly vanish from the device manager.  -Which is smart for things like the touch pad and the keyboard, but somehow the touch screen and stylus got included in that feature.

Hello, I'm having issues with a computer. I formatted the hard drives and reinstalled the Vista 32bit OS. Now when I shutdown the pc, MediaDirect reboots the computer. 

I've double checked to make sure the option I chose was SHUTDOWN and not restart.

Help I have a dell inpsirion 5559 BIOS Revision 1.0.6 and I restarted the computer but then it had said it failed so I pressed cancel now my computer turns on and only gos to the dell logo and repeats the whole dell logo screen again I already took the 3 hour test it says its fine please help

I got my E5470 Quad Core i5 6440HQ. I noticed the CPU never go over 35 watts - most of time it's actually under 30 watts even under heavy load, is this normal?

I'm assuming the E5570 Quad Core would have similar behavior, anyone knows details?

btw, I'm using Intel Extreme Tuning Utility, it does show me a 'Current Limit Throttling' warning when under heavy load.

My laptop came with a 65 watts charger, but I tried a 90 watts adapter, and it does not make a difference on CPU power.

The ultra-sensitivity of my Dell laptop trackpad has driven me mad. How to reduce the sensitivity. I read forum advice that said go to control panel,mouse, and there will be a trak pad sensitivity adjustment. But..there was no adjustments for track pad on the mouse section. anyone know where it is??
