Hello all.

The Dell site says my e5440 needs this update:

Serial-ATA_Driver_R4HDM_WN_13.1.0.1058_A11

It downloads fine, but install continually fails saying .NET Framework 4.5 required.  So I went to Microsoft, downloaded 4.5, but the MS installer says a newer version of .NET is already installed.

So I'm stuck. I can't install the Dell SATA driver update because it doesn't recognise a newer version of .NET Framwork is installed. And I can't 'roll-back' to .NET 4.5 because MS won't allow it.

Can anyone help?

Hello Dell -

All of a sudden my XPS 15 laptop network port is not working .The local technician says its problem with port.

checked device driver 

- drivers upto date

-working properly

But still not working .Could you please assist in identifying the issue.

This PC worked for 2 days and now when powered up the power led lights for about a second and turns off. No access to bios. I'm assuming that I'll need an RMA # to return this pc for service.

Any ideas??

When using Dell System Detect to install drivers it finds the "Intel Serial I/O" driver needs updated. The driver shown is this one, "Version 30.100.1519.7, A00", updated 12 Jan 2016, but when I download the EXE and extract it, all of the .inf files show version "30.63.1519.07", from 04 May 2015 instead.

So it looks like the wrong version is posted, or at least it's mislabeled; is there any other place I can get the "correct" driver? The link URL also has the .100. version number, so it's not like they just forgot to update the link.

I'm having issues with using a docking station and so I'm trying to ensure all drivers are at the latest version, but this one keeps showing up.

Attempted to upgraded to Win 10 and it caused major failure.

Did not know that it could not be upgraded.
I need to reinstall OS to empty drive and I get a message after install starts from cd/dvd  that I need the driver for the cd/dvd.  It is doing start of install up to that time, not sure why it all of a sudden needs it.
Not sure where to get this.  Can someone please assist me?

If you have any thing to tell me that will help with this, PLEASE do so.

I have run across a Dell T54FJ laptop battery that looks different from known genuine Dell laptop batteries and might possibly be a counterfeit. Here are some photos of the laptop battery in question:

Here are some pictures of known genuine T54FJ laptop batteries:

Here are the differences I notice between the battery shown in the first set of photos that looks different from the known genuine batteries and might possibly be counterfeit, and the known genuine batteries shown in the second set of photos:

• The text is in a different font in the battery shown in the first set of photos than it is in the known genuine batteries shown in the second set of photos.
• The known genuine batteries say Further processed in China instead of Assembled in China, even though I have encountered known genuine Dell laptop batteries for newer Dell laptop models that actually do say Assembled in China.
• The text Cells made in Korea and Assembled in China is clearly in a different font in the battery shown in the first set of photos than it is in known genuine T54FJ batteries.
• The small print on the TIS logo and on the TÜV GS logo on the bottom label is legible on the known genuine T54FJ batteries if you look closely enough, but is illegible on the battery shown in the first set of photos, even if you look at the label closely.
• The RBRC Recycling logo is clearer on the known genuine T54FJ batteries than it is on the battery shown in the first set of photos.
• The battery shown in the first set of photos is missing the small white label on the bottom of known genuine Dell batteries that includes the DP/N, a Data Matrix barcode corresponding to the serial number on the white label, and a serial number on the white label.
• The battery shown in the first set of photos has a gray label that includes a QR code that decodes to 12345678, followed by a Code 128 barcode that decodes to a serial number in a very different format from that of known genuine Dell laptop batteries.

Is the battery shown in the first set of photos actually counterfeit?

                    I wanted to know if I can dim down completely the screen in my Inspirion 5447 , 14 - 5000 Series (with the f11 keys), and if it's not possible with the native software installed, which 3erd party company should I trust for this job. Thank you.

Hi,

this is my first post on these forums, I usually find them useless but I can't find any other answers on dear old Google, so I thought I'd give this a shot.

I purchased a brand new XPS 9550 today, unfortunately the 4K touch model wasn't available at the selected store and I needed a laptop immediately for work (by Monday morning)

I'm very curious because I only have the Full HD model is it possible to replace that screen with a 4K display (the same one from the 4K model of the same laptop) as I know you can purchase them.

Using a mouse the right click behaves as I would expect it.  Using the touch pad, right and left click perform the same function. 

I am new user to both lap tops and Win 10.  Is there a problem with my new Inspiron 11 3000 or with me?

Hi,

I have an XPS 15 9550, bought half a year ago, and today I just noticed there are several dark stripes at the right side of the screen. Very obvious under the white background. Is there anyone else who has the same problem?

Hello,

So just a question. I have Dell Inspiron for several years and has been still running great. I had done the free upgrade to Windows 10 that Microsoft provided. 

I've recently been trying to do smart screening with my Roku TV but it says that Miracast is not supported. I was wondering how exactly can I get that driver?

I've added the TV to the connected devices and have enabled it on the TV. So, I was wondering if there any other way to remotely connect to a Smart TV?

Hey Guys,

I have a question, so when my laptop is in tablet mode, and I am trying take notes on OneNote, my palm/wrist keeps touching the screen so i can't write quickly. It always comes out sloppy and with dots all over the page from when my wrist touches the screen.

I tried the active stylus, which didn't even work with the laptop. Is there another solution to this. This really is annoying me as I can't use it for it's intended purpose which was for handwritten notes.

my laptop battery light is flashing orange. I'm running Windows10.

I checked the battery health meter and the battery is 100% charged and the meter indicates that it is functioning normally. The laptop is only a few months old.

I saw another post that suggested rebooting the laptop with the cable unplugged. I'going to try that next.
