Recovering files from APPS.INP
Hi I have been experience of how to recover files from .inp backups but first I want to show you whats inside of my backup folder which is called "20160115225719_BACKUP":

At first, everything in my backup folder are in it and restore it from inp into my usb by using MigRestore.exe. After I restore my files from .inp into my usb and I deleted everything, next I deleted DATA.INP, DATA_0000.INP, DATA_0001.INP, DATA_0002.INP, or DATA_0003.INP and run the MigRestore.exe again and I received error that it says "error number: 3223257092" or whatever. But when I restore all DATA inp files back in the backup folder and deleted all APPS inp files and restore all DATA inp files and run the MigRestore.exe, it runs normally and I didn't receive any error. My concern is I want to know whats inside of any APPS inp files. If there are files in it then I want to know how to recover it. Because I realized that some of my personal files that I used to have are still missing or not stored in any DATA inp files.

SD card slot not being recognized as a drive
I inserted my SD card from my camera into the SD card slot of my laptop, but it is not listed as a drive!! How can it get this to work? Any ideas?

Why won't my laptop start?
I have a Dell M3800 laptop and I was using it last night and it was running fine. However this morning i woke to turn it on and it would not show any sign of life. It has a battery icon on the side saying how much power the battery has and even that wont show lights. I removed the battery and used AC power only and it wont start at all.
Plz help me as i need this for my college work.

What things should I prepare for Studio 1555 motherboard replacement
My Dell Studio 1555 doesn't working. I am trying to replace its motherboard.
I guessed followings needed for this job:
1. Motherboard (CN-0C235M DA0FM8MB8E0 PWB W018J)
2. Thermal Compound (CPU Chip Heatsink Paste)
I also guessed that I should take following steps:
a. Dis-assemble 1555 and pull out CPU.
b. Add thermal compound to CPU.
c. Install CPU to the new motherboard.
d. Assemble 1555 with new motherboard.
Are these all O.K. to do the perfect job?
What else should I do or prepare for this job?

BSOD after memory upgrade on Dell Inspiron 15R 5537

Few months ago I updated to Windows 10. I've upgraded memory in my laptop Dell Inspiron 15R 5537. I've installed 2 sticks CRUCIAL CT102464BF160B. As I see it must be compatible with my laptop. But after that my laptop started to fall into BSOD. What should I do now?

Issues with E-Port II Replicator PR03X in combination with both the Latitude E5530 and the Lattitude E5540
Hello,
Recently we've seen increasing issues regarding the combination of the E-Port II Replicator PR03X and Latitude E5530 and E5540 Laptop Models.
The most common issues are:
- Windows Crashes when docking/undocking (with an open or closed lid)
- Wi-Fi does not function properly after undocking
Another issue which also came about around the same time which may or may not be related: Windows crashes when the lid of the respective models are closed (without being docked to the E-Port Replicator).
Things which were already tried:
- Updating the BIOS and Drivers (Except for the Graphics Drivers, more on that later) of the laptops
- Updating the MST HUB Firmware of the Latitude E5540 laptops (I don't seem to be able to find any for the E5530)
- Updating the Graphics Drivers(with Dell Drivers), which failed with a generic "The setup program failed to install one ore more device drivers, Setup will now exit."
-> The respective driver installer names are: Video_Driver_JVC00_WN32_10.18.10.4176_A17.EXE & Video_Driver_FGGYJ_WN32_10.18.14.4280_A17.EXE
I'm personally suspecting that , because of the suddenness of the issues, a Windows Update may be the cause but that's just a guess. A full reinstall of the affected systems seems to cause the issues to disappear but I don't see this being a solution really.
Any suggestions about this? I'm also wondering what's causing the issue with the graphics installer, I tried updating through the device manager but with no avail.

Driver Update Issues
I have a Latitude E6430 which was running Win7 Pro. I successfully updated the BIOS and did some driver updates before doing a backup and then a full upgrade to Win10 Pro.
All appears fine with Win10 - monitors set up, restore turned on, applications all running.
I then did a Driver check using the Dell utility and it responded that there were two Drivers in need of update:

Car Charger for the Inspiron 13 7000 2-in-1 (7348)
I purchased the car charger Dell 450-AEGT but did not work with my 7348 laptop. Strange enough, it would be compatible with the 7347 and even with the 7352, which shares the same BIOS of mine, but Dell does not list it as compatible with the Inspiron 7348. Is there any Dell-made car charger compatible with the 7348? I would for third-part acessories but did not find anyone that I could be sure it would work anyway.

On analysis an older supply 0J62h3 which I use for a latitude e6520 shows as only 60% efficiency so I would like to replace it with a more efficient supply.

Inspiron 5759 - AC Adaptor cannot be recognized
I've been dealing with ac adaptor problems for a few weeks now, and at first I was convinced it was because of my adaptor (the OEM charger that came with the laptop) since it's connector looks like it's a bit damaged.
If I connect it, the laptop doesn't recognize it and it says the adaptor is connected and not charging. If I twist the connector around for a bit, the error goes away, and it starts charging like normal.
So I bought a brand new charger (this one in particular) and it worked fine, until a few hours ago. Now I plug it in and it says that the ac adaptor cannot be recognized and it does not charge.
I have no idea what is wrong at this point so any help is greatly appreciated.

Duplicated Laptop Service Tags
I ran an audit on our company's laptops recently and discovered 2 of them (Latitude E4310s) had the same service tag. I got in touch with Dell and they said this is likely to have happened when a motherboard was replaced by one of their technicians and the incorrect service tag was entered.
I've tried every method I can find online, no matter how old, of resetting the tags I can find (Dell Command Configure, cctk.exe, asset.com, svctag.exe etc.) to no avail.
As such, does anyone know of a way to change the service tag on a Dell Latitude E4310 without getting involved with the (frankly useless) Dell out of warranty support?

Dell xps 9550 slow bios boot time
Hello,
Few weeks ago bought new dell xps 9550 4k model i7 512 Toshiba ssd model.
Unsatisfied with boot time - about 23 seconds to boot windows 10.
Bios boot time in task manager shows 12,3 seconds - it is unacceptable for such expensive computer with newest hardware. My old inspiron with windows 7 boots faster and has bios boot time about 1-2 seconds.
Clean install win 10, bios newest version 1.2 and newest drivers.

Searched all forums - no solution.

DRIVER POWER STATE FAILURE on My Dell Vostro 5459
I just buy a new laptop brand and i install clean windows 8.1 install work fine after finish still work fine no problem at all, but when i shutdown the windows. i push a power button on.
After that my dell show windows logo and stuck with blank screen after 3 minute appear error screen capture?
Someone Please help me, i am stress 2 days fresh install windows 8.1 or windows 10 still appear the same problem? the problem appear when i power button on. and wait 3 minute. error appear screen capture.

Precision M4700 Charging Problem
M4700 laptop. In the BIOS the battery condition is Normal. The battery is charged to 19% but the number never changes. Plug in the 180W power adapter; icon in the tray says "Not charging". Put the computer in its docking station hooked up to a different power adapter, same thing.
Could the battery still be bad even though the BIOS says it is Normal? I don't want to replace the motherboard only to find that the battery is actually bad. I don't want to buy a new battery only to discover the laptop won't charge that battery either.
Isn't there a definitive way to determine whether my problem is the battery or the motherboard?

Was doing an upgrade and lost power or connectivity during the upgrade
now my Laptop will not boot.

Dell Latitude E5450 Fingerprint Reader note available at login in Windows 10
Hello,
I have a curious Problem with a Fresh windows 10 Install (restore from Dell Media) and he Fingerprint Reader.
I installed all drivers inkl. Dell Security Tools. 2 Fingers are recognized in Software.
But after Restart from Windows, Login is only possible with PW or secure Question. When i then lock the laptop, login with finger print is available and possible ?!
Also when I then shutdown the Computer and re-power on, fingerprint login is also possible.
But when i press Reboot in Windows, the reader is again not available.
Also when the Computer hits standby and then is power on again, fingerprint is not available.
What can I do to get this reader always available ?
