I have had this laptop for about a month and from day 1 it has turned off at random intervals, i don't tons of research and numerous check to identify the problem and have found no solutions. It is not caused by overheating and my bios are up to date. What happens is without warning the screen will go blank and all sound will shut off, the screen appears be on but shows blackness and the power button remains lit. The only way for it to work again is if i hold the power button and turn it off then back on. Please Help!

Touchpad gestures not working - Inspiron 15 5000 series
Hello!
I got my Dell Inspiron 15 5000 series a week ago, and despite things working perfectly in the beggining, my touchpad stopped scrolling (2-finger gesture).
The only think it does is move the cursor.
According to the sticker on my laptop I have a precision touchpad, but I see no "You have a precision touchpad" statement in the settings as I believe I should.
Can anyone help? Is there a specific driver that maybe got corrupted? (I ran the update driver test and it says that my driver is up to date) Or is there a separate driver for the gestures?

Virtual keyboard (on screen keyboard) work in tablet mode?
Got an inspiron 13 7000 series yesterday and the on screen keyboard will not work in tablet mode. The selection for the screen keyboard goes away when I fold into tablet. Anyone know how to make screen keyboard work in tablet mode?

Need info on Charging/Powering Inspiron 15" 5559
Hey all,
I recently had my charger for my laptop die, so I bopped over to Harvey norman to grab a replacement and found it only powers my laptop & doesn't charge the battery. Was just wondering where I could find one that will actually charge my battery.
I know that chargers don't all work cuz of problems with exploding batteries while back.
I know that the charger needs 19.5v and 65w, but I have no idea where to find one.

Inspiron 11 3000 Series BIOS upgrade slowed down my laptop - is there a fix?
Hi there,
Bought my LP Inspiron 11 3000 Series earlier this year and was really pleased with it because it was fast and light.
Then DELL sent out a BIOS upgrade which has turn my lovely speedy laptop into a dead donkey in that it no longer "sleeps" - it reboots from scratch every time, the time it takes to boot is painfully slow when before it was really fast, and it takes *ages* (sometimes feels like years) to open applications such as Excel, Word, or Chrome.
What has DELL done to my laptop? Please, PLEASE, is there a fix?

Dell XPS 13 keyboard - shift+2 types " , shift+' types @ (ie functionality swapped). Fixable?
Hi on my new Dell XPS 13 when I press shift+2 which should type @ it instead types ". The opposite when I press shift+' it types @. Like this since first got it, is this a miswired keyboard or fixable setting issue. Any advise would be appreciated or will just have to take it back.

INSPIRON 13 7359 WARRANTY
I bougt an inspiron 13 7359 recently from amazon us store. Got it brought to india with relative. I first started the laptop in india and the screen was not working. It shows different colours and acts randomly. sometimes it becomes perfect. I registered the product using my personal information and then gave my personal info for tag transfer to india. How much time will it take to transfer the tag? and will i have to pay on this new product to get it working? Other option i have is to send this back to US which will cost me approx 200$ in 10 days to get a refund.

Alienware M17x, 3 Problems, 1 Major
Hey! Website was recommended by a friend, so I'm sorry if there's some protocol I must follow that I didn't; I'm new.
I own an Alienware M17x laptop. Bought it off a pawnshop about 8 months ago. That's all I know about my laptop's internals(sorry).
I've had a couple of problems with this thing, and I was hoping this website's wonderful community could help me out.
1.) This Alienware laptop comes with a small physical "control panel" for volume control, mute, skipping or rewinding/pausing video, ejecting discs, toggling wireless signals, and most importantly, accessing the Alienware Control Panel shortcut, which opens the Alienware Control panel. These buttons are located on the top right of the keyboard, above the number pad(look at pictures on the internet if still confused). This is where the first problem persists. About two weeks after I got this computer, the Alienware Control Panel shortcut button stopped working. I could still go to the FxEditor, but only by clicking on the icon. I know I didn't break the button, so what could've happened? After it broke, I also couldn't change the backlights on the keyboard without first disabling them entirely. I used to be able to switch them without having to disable the lights, but around the time the button on the computer stopped opening up the program, I had to start shutting off the lights to switch the colors.
2.) After I switched to Windows 10, the speakers stopped working. Headphones work, and as well as HDMI connections to other monitors. So, I tried deleting and re-installing the sound driver, but to no avail. After asking a forum(Dell I think), they said this computer simply doesn't work for Windows 10 when it comes to speakers. I don't like this answer, as it seems they just gave up, so hopefully someone can help me out in finding a solution. Willing to try almost anything that makes sense, and some things that don't(but not deleting windows32, thanks).
Now, the big problem.
3.) About 4 days ago, my computer randomly got the Blue Screen of Death. I didn't pay too much attention to when I should have(I know), and now it got worse. The next day, I tried turning on my computer, and it stayed in the loading screen, with the Alienware Logo staring at me for about 15 minutes before I noticed something's wrong. I hit F2, ran it in Debug more(I had no idea what that was so someone please explain it seemed like the right thing to do), and then it loaded up to the password start-up screen. Typing the password was incredibly slow, and I knew something was wrong. The computer shut down again, and I turned it on again. I let it stay on the loading screen, force-shut it down, and did this process for around 2 times. On the 3rd time, it loaded the password login screen, and after slowly putting in my password, it logged me in. The desktop was all black, and only the Windows 10 bottom tab showed up. I couldn't type anything into the search bar. After a while, the computer gave me the BSOD again, and it showed an error message similar to "0xffffffff"(I could be wrong) or something. From my research I discovered this error was the cause mainly to a program installing incorrectly. On the 4th time, I let it stay in the loading screen. It then began "scanning and repairing drive xxxxxxxx"(I didn't take or record the address of whatever it was repairing, sorry). It fixed overnight, and my OS worked. I didn't run any hardware-intensive programs, so I wasn't sure if it was completely fixed, but I left it alone.
Fast forward to today. Once I turned on my computer, I was greeted with a "Repairing C:// Drive" message. Once that fixed, I logged on. I got a major error message from the Microsoft .NET Framework about 7 times, along with a major error message inside that Framework message which I will hopefully link if I can figure out how. If I can't link them for any reason, I will DM/post in the thread the complete error messages. My Alienware AlienFX system (the backlight system) isn't working, and keeps crashing, along by showing another error message, which I will also link. I tried to give whatever information I could, and I will try to update as more things will hopefully not screw up. Thank you for reading this lengthy message(I tried to give whatever information I could), and I hope you can help me.
EDIT: As I was writing this, got the BSOD again, with the error message: UNEXPECTED_STORE_EXCEPTION. I’m also trying to run a Steam game, and it is INCREDIBLY slow to load.

please is option how to deactivate "FN+Insert".
I am using mode "Function Key", it is suitable for me. I would like keep this layout.
But FN+Insert is not perfect for my work. Mosty i am oversight sending computer to Sleep / Hibernation mode.
How to deactivate "Fn + Insert Enter Sleep / Hibernation mode"?

Question on Inspiron 5759 battery
it was my belief that a removable battery was (gasp!) removable whereas an intergated battery was not as it was a part of the laptop. however my "Inspiron 5759 17 Touch" which in its product page on your site is listed as having a integrated battery has a battery that i can remove. (note: realized this when i had to switch keyboards)
so my question is... what is the difference between a removable battery and an integrated battery?
and as a follow question... which do i have?

Dell XPS 13 Trackpad Click Problem
I have the 2016 XPS 13 (9350).
Occasionally single tapping on the trackpad no longer works. Instead it assumes a click and hold action - when you move the mouse it'll highlight things you go past or when you tap on a file it will drag on it. The only way to work around this is to physically click the trackpad everytime. Restarting fixes the problem but it still reoccurs every once and a while.
Also when I go to settings --> about --> it says XPS 8700. The laptop has intel i5-6200U CPU @ 2.3 GHz 2.4 GHz so it's the 9350 right?
I've also been getting around 6.5-7.5 on moderate usage - YouTube, facebook most often. Is this normal?

Less touchpad gestures after update to Win10 (XPS15 L521x)
Hello,
after the update to Windows 10, I have less touchpad gestures available. Before, I could use 4 finger swipe to the sides to change the tabs in the browser. When I go now to the DELL touchpad software, there aren't any options anymore for 4 finger gestures. And instead going back/forward with a 3 finger swipe to side, it changes the apps now (which is unnnecessary for me because a swipe up opens task view). Is it possible to change the actions of the touchpad and get back the 4 finger gestures?
For me it's incomprehenisble why DELL reduces the functions of the touchpad with the upgrade to a newer OS...

Inspiron 7437 WILL NOT REBOOT after BIOS Update
Hi,
Last week I updated my machine to the latest BIOS from Dell, file name 7437A10.exe. The machine rebooted fine after the installation and worked fine for a day or two. But now my machine will not boot pass the DELL logo (the progress bar at the bottom keeps spinning). The hard disk light lights up and blinks, indicating that the system is accessing the hard disk.
I tried a few things to get the machine to boot, with no success. What I tried was:
- press Start and wait for the machine to boot for about 5 minutes, Iooking at the logo
- press and hold the start button for about 30seconds
- detach the battery, press the start button for about 30seconds to release any remaining current, attach the battery and tried to boot
- reset the bios settings to default
None of these options worked. Can you help me figure out what the problem is?
I'm running Windows 10.

Latitude D630 bluetooth help
I was trying to pair up a bluetooth speaker to the laptop and it wasnt working so I thought try some bluetooth drivers, when installing this driver Dell_Wireless-360-Module-wit_A01_R155463 the laptop crashed when it was at this stage, pic below
Now the bluetooth wont work or show up in device manager.
Any help to get the bluetooth going would be appreciated.
buy another bluetooth chip ?
