Latitude E6500 - Dell Command | Update Tool - Win 10
Hi!
I purchased a Latitude E6500 (original delivery October 2009 w/ windows vista), with an installed Windows 10 Home Edition, from a Microsoft Authorized Refurbisher.
The Dell Product Support Page generated by the Service Tag says the "Product is not tested for Windows 10 upgrade" etc., etc.
The Device Manager shows the majority of Device Drivers as being Microsoft 2006 vintage with the following exceptions.
All are Provided By & Signed By, Microsoft
All are Dated 10-29-2015 - Win 10 public release July 2015.
All are Version 10.0.10586.0
System Device - High Definition Audio Controller

Studio 1749 will not power up
All of a sudden just died. Charger "blue band" is on. Voltage at end of charging cable +19V (unloaded - no laptop connected). Will not power-up using charger (with or without battery pack installed).
Battery state just above laptop charger plug-in port always "off" - (never amber or white).
Red power button on laptop will not light / flash - just appears dead.
Tried coin battery (original 10 years old) voltage was 3v - low but not a game changer. New coin battery about 3.15v - no change.
Buzzed charger common direct from laptop charging port to battery plug-in contact. Found no direct connection between +19 (center pin) on laptop charger port to battery plug-in contact. Should there be one ? I suspect no because it probably has to go thru a bunch of (not so) happy HS before it gets to the battery.
Suggestions ?

N7110 fan problem
My N7110 decided that it was going to upgrade to win10 2 days ago - I'm not sure how that happened as I'd been declining the upgrade requests.
Anyway, after upgrading to win10, my fan was cycling on/off constantly.
I installed speedfan and noticed that if when the temperatures were a little higher, ie. if I opened a couple of browers tabs and streamed some video, that the fan stopped cycling and stayed on low.
When I close the tabs and allow the temps to reduce again, when the fan tried to return to idle, it starts kicking in again, causing the fan to cycling on and off constantly again.
I had assumed that it must be a win10 driver problem and rolled back to win7 but the fan problem persists.
I've also realised now that if the temps are up and I reboot into the bios update section the fan will cycle there too - so possibly not a windows driver problem ?
Strangely, although its been cycling now for 2 full days, the fans stopped altogether for about 1 minute in the middle of typing this post !
Any ideas anyone ?

Issue on Inspiron 15 3558 laptop
Hi, first, sorry for my english.
I´ve buyed a new laptop inspiron 15 3558 (i3, 8gb ram, 500gb hdd, ac3160, hd5500, Windows 10 home 64bits).
Now, i´ve done a fresh install of Windows 10, but when i unplug a usb (pendrive, hdd, mouse) using safe extraction, notification center and cortana stops working. After a few minutes, they start to work again.
If i make a system restart, i can plug/unplug usb´s and everithing goes ok, only happens on a first start of the system after hours of being off.
I have all new drivers versión of all hardware, dell web have the same or older drivers versión of the same hardware.
Any idea/help?

Unable to clear TPM
Hi, I've got serious problem with clearing the TPM on latitude 7450. Clearing the TPM from the BIOS does not clear it. It restarts the system but Windows OS still can't see uninitialized TPM chip. I tried to clear the TPM from Windows OS (win10) using tpm.msc console. It restarts the system, invoke TPM clean, so I needed to pres F12 to confirm the cleaning operation but immediatelly after that the following message is shown "error trying to complete tpm request". I've got A13 BIOS (latest, released today)

Inspiron 5558 Backlight Keyboard in Win 10
I was in Windows 8.1 and this function works normally, but i upgrade to Windows 10 and doesn't work anymore. I try Keyboard Fn, Mobility Center and bios Function don't exist in my model for change this (I use latest BIOS version for my model).
What I do in this case ?

iNSPIRON 11 3000 SERIES MOTHERBOARDS
This may be a dumb question but I'll ask it anyway. I love my 3000 3157 win the pentium quad core but I notice there is the same machine out with the faster i5 and/or i7. As you know the cpu is not socketed on this motherboard so I am wondering if the faster i5 + motherboards keep the same general design so that it may be possible to upgrade the motherboard in this laptop at some point? To mean anyhow upgrading to a motherboard with a faster non-socketed cpu would be more cost effective than a new machine. The only thing that really bothers me at this moment is the lack of good stylus support and a second minicard slot for cellular network would be very desireable as well.

The laptop doesn't boot and displays a blank screen
I have Studio 1555. Few days back, the laptop stopped and The screen colours got smudged and there were lines on the screen. It was all internal, no external damage. I tried to restart the system, but I was unable to restart it at that time. I turned on the laptop after an hour and it started. Now, few days later, the laptop isnmt turning on at all and displays nothing when turns on. Just the light in power button and backlit of keyboard, except that, nothing is working. No beed sounds etc.
I have tried various troubleshooting steps but in vain. I can feel the fan running. What to do, please help?

DELL Inspiron 15R (5010) Recovery Issue
This is my second attempt to post this question; the first has never made it out of moderation.
I hope someone here has some insight into what is going on with my Inspiron 15R (Model 5010) and possibly some suggestions overcome this problem. Sorry for the long post, but I wanted to provide as much information as possible. I did perform a search for answers and unless I missed it, I didn’t find a similar problem.
At this point, it is my opinion that DELL created a Recovery Partition on this Laptop that, after a Recovery procedure is completed, somehow points to loading the OS from one of their Servers or a device that is not available, instead of my local Drive C:, the next and subsequent times my Laptop is restarted after the initial setup is completed.
Background: I purchased this DELL Inspiron 15R new from DELL in 2011 and it came with Windows 7 Home Premium. Last year, when the free Windows 10 upgrade was available for this Laptop I decided to try it, knowing that I would probably have an issue with the Bluetooth capability. As it turns out, Bluetooth partially worked, but I lost the availability of my LAN card. So, I decided to use the Windows 10 feature that allowed me to go back to Windows 7 within the initial 30 day period. The rollback created numerous problems (couldn’t uninstall or update some programs, some USB ports didn’t work, and other issues) that I’ve lived with, but finally decided to restore my laptop using the Recovery DVD I created when I received the laptop from DELL. I didn’t restore from the partition because I wasn’t sure if it had been corrupted during the Windows 7 to 10 and back to 7 processes.
Recovery: The recovery from my Recovery DVD seemed to go flawlessly. It went through the recovery process, restarted the laptop and Windows 7 launched and I proceeded through the setup. I checked the System Properties and Windows was activated. Knowing that there would be lots of updates, I ran Windows Update, installed the first wave of updates, clicked on the necessary restart, the computer restarted, the DELL Startup Screen displayed as expected, and then the a failure dialog screen appeared. I’ve performed the Recovery about 10 times, with and without installing updates, and it always goes through the Recovery, restart, and first time setup; but whenever you restart the laptop or perform a shutdown/power on sequence, the same failure occurs. I even created a new USB Recovery Stick from the current Recovery Partition and the same thing happens. It is like a program that you’ve loaded from DVD, but when you try to change it, it looks for some non-existent server somewhere.
The laptop is as I received it from DELL, no hardware changes and no BIOS updates. And, after I perform a Recovery, everything works perfectly until I restart or shutdown/power on the laptop. It is interesting that after the Recovery and it restarts the computer to launch and setup Windows the first time; it goes through the DELL Startup Screen and launches Windows; but the next time and all subsequent times it fails after the DELL Startup Screen displays and seems to complete.
When starting the laptop; F2 (Setup) and F12 (Boot Options) take me to the expected menus, but F8 has no effect and it just goes to the error screen.
I went into the BIOS and checked the list of boot devices and found it interesting that a Diskette was listed as 1st Priority, so I changed 1st Priority to Hard Drive and moved Diskette to the lowest (6th) priority; but that didn’t make any difference. I even performed a BIOS reset to default settings, but that didn’t make any difference either. It should be noted that the BIOS Version is A12 and I think A15 is available, but everything worked fine before with A12.
As an additional data point, I decided to try to update Windows 7 again to Windows 10, even though I couldn’t update my Windows 7 to Windows 7 SP1. I used the Windows 10 Home 64-bit Installation DVD that I created. Somehow in this process, rather than update Windows 7, I created a dual boot system (Windows 7 and Windows 10). However; when I select Windows 10 (default) it boots, reboots, and restarts without any problems; but if I select Windows 7, I get the failure that I mentioned. So, I’m pretty sure the issue is with the Recovery Partition that DELL put on my Laptop’s Hard Drive; I just don’t know how to fix it!!!!!
Here is the error screen that appears after the DELL Startup Screen.

1. Insert your Windows installation disc and restart your computer.
2. Choose your language settings, and then click “Next.”
3. Click “repair your computer.”

Inspiron 1150 Unable to type in primary or administrator password at bootup
At bootup, the Dell splash screen clears and then primary or administrator password screen comes up. I know both passwords but the screen disregards all key presses except for the Enter key.
Note: these are system passwords not Windows, plugging in a USB keyboard does not work, trying to boot from a CD or USB doesn't work because neither are read before this screen.
Does anyone know how to get the key presses to be recognized by the BIOS so I can type in the password?

My laptop doesn't turn on .. with 3 beeps
my laptop was opened and suddenly the screen goes black and laptop shuts down .. when i try to turn it on .. the led lights for 1 second and turns dark when i blug the charger or battery .. when i blug the charger and the battery together the led lights as the battery is charging .. so the problem isn't in the battery or charger .. when i'm trying to open it sometimes after the led goes down with while it gives me 3 beeps .. so i want to know what happened and possible cases for it and what is the mean of the 3 beeps and what i can do ? .. my laptop is dell inspiron 3542 core-i7

Laptop won't turn on and beeps infinitely
My inspiron 3521 wont turn on and beeps forever. I started trying to see if it beeped a certain amount of times but i stopped at 32. I do not have warranty and the only way to use my laptop is to repeatedly turn it on and off several times.
