I couldn't believe how slow the WiFi is in my brand new XPS 13 laptop. I can find no way to speed it up. My old Inspiron 17R WiFi runs at 300 bps when properly configured. Has anyone found a way to reconfigure the WiFi card in the XPS 13?

M4600 missing .Net Framework versions
My system has Windows 7 64bit OS. I had trouble loading an application that requires .Net Framework v4.5.
I looked in services and the registry to find what versions are installed, v2.0.50727, v3.0, v3.5, v4, v4.0, v4.6.1.
I appear to be missing v4.5, v4.5.1, v4.5.2, and v4.6. How do I go about getting these versions installed?

SD Card usage
I have an old Mini 1018 that I would like to run Linux on. I would like to install the operating system on an SD card. Two questions: 1. Can I use a UHS SD card in this netbook and if so what is the size limitation (64GB, 256GB.etc)? 2. Can I setup the BIOS to look for the SD Card during boot?

Hard drive crash and document/file access
I have Dell XPS M1530. I bought it new in 2008. My computer broke early in March. Working with a Dell tech via phone, we discovered a code that indicated the hard drive had crashed. I ordered a replacement hard drive, received it and had it reinstalled.
The computer works well,; however, although my files and documents are listed, I can not open them. I had my microsoft works ( 7 discs) also reinstalled at the time of the hard drive installation. I called Dell tech support and they transferred me to warranty section. The warranty section indicated they could not help me as my computer was out of warranty. They transferred mr to the Dell out of warranty section. The Dell out of warranty section they did not have copies of the 25 digit Microsoft Key that in 2008 accompanied my Microsoft Works that they installed on my "new" computer in 2008 and I was out of luck.
Any suggestions on how to open my files and documents? Thanks, John

XPS 13 Battery Not Present Issue
My XPS 13 9343 which I purchased in September 2015 just started showed that I have no battery present. I haven't dropped it and I take good care of the battery. There were no signs of the battery acting up. Now I have to be plugged in for the laptop to work and as soon as I unplug my charger it dies instantly. Randomly the light that shows it is charging and the front of my computer goes on and the computer will charge but it doesn't charge for more then ten seconds and I can't seem to find a way to keep it charging even if I don't move it once it starts changing. Any help is appreciated.

power adapter LED indicator light turns off after plugging in to laptop (inspiron 5523)
I have an Inspiron 5523, and it was running fine, until earlier today. I went to plug the thing in to charge, and it would not charge. Instead, the light on the power adapter brick shut off, or would flicker. This happened with 2 charge cables. Am i looking at a dead motherboard, or something else?

What is wrong with Backup & Recovery Disk No 2?
We have 5 Dell Vostro Laptops in our small organization. We all created our own set of Backup disks when we received our laptops. Today I wanted to restore my laptop back to factory settings. (I don't have HDD based backup partitions, I deleted them while install Linux and dual booting). So I decided to restore it using my own Recovery disks. (Using live Linux USB, I deleted all partitions, so that DELL recovery disks wont confused how to delete ext4 partitions. Now I have clean disk with no partitions. I booted my laptop from Disk #1 -> Original Factory reset -> Restoration of drive started. After reaching 48% it asked me to insert Disk #2 , I inserted it, nothing happens! I waited for more than 2 hrs!
I decided to check with different set (created from someone else laptop), The UI had different look & feel, again on Disk #2 just like earlier one nothing happens when disk is inserted! I repeated this process with all 5 sets!!! Disk 2 doesn't work! we all have DELL Vostro 3542 laptops. What should I do now? I don't have any OS and restoration is not working!

Inspiron 13-5323 will not boot after new hard drive installed
Dropped my Inspiron and the Geek Squad said it needed a new hard drive. I installed a new WD Blue identical to the old one myself. When turned on, the computer immediately goes to "Phoenix Securecore Tiano Setup." The preboot tests indicate the new hard drive is functioning okay. I've tried to boot in the secure UEFI mode, and in the Legacy boot mode, but neither boot up. I get a message that "Operation System Not Found." It's my understanding this computer has the OS embedded on the motherboard. I had previously upgraded it from Windows 8.1 to 10. When I tried booting in Safe Mode using F8, I got the same OS not found message. The F2 and F4 keys upon start up don't do anything different, either. Am I missing a step while in the Phoenix setup window? Any suggestions while in the Phoenix window that might get me closer to booting up would be appreciated.

Brightness Key Not Working
Hello, I have recently purchased a Dell Inspiron 15 i5558-5718SLV and I have noticed occasionally when I press the brightness key, the screen will turn black and it will lock the computer. It is a little frustrating. Is there a reason why it does this? I have tried to notice a pattern, but I am a little flustered as I cannot detect one. Thank you.

How to improve fingerprint reader and can the nfc reader read tags? e7470
Good day,
Got my new and shiny E7470, but there is some trouble in paradise.
Is there a way to improve fingerprint reader? This thing is complete <profanity>. Half of the time it does not recognize the finger and when it recognized, it just takes too long. Updated all drivers and software to the latest, as per dell support suggestion. Still <profanity> :D My old Vostro 3350 FP reader works better in any case.
And the second question is, can the nfc read tags? Installed a couple of programs from windows store, but they do not show the tags info. When the sound is on and I place a tag on the reader, there is chime and that is all. Device manager shows, that device is active and working without problems.
NFC card should be Mifare Plus.

Architecture Keyboard

I recently bought a Dell Latitude. I noticed that the keyboard has a slight rise in its central part. That is, the keyboard is not perfectly flat, the position of the letters G and H the keyboard is higher over the side.
This is normal in notebooks DELL? Or keyboard is in trouble?

Latitude E6230 HDD SATA adapter
I purchased a used Latitude E6230 laptop from my employer. They took out the HDD and I have a new one to install. Apparently an adapter is needed to convert the HDD SATA (horizontal) to the motherboard SATA (vertical).
Unfortunately I can't find it on DELL's site. Any idea how I can solve this? Thanks.

Inspiron 15 3452 not charging
Just a quick note, I have checked if it's actually plugged in and I have tried it at many wall points.
So my Inspiron 3452 is not charging and when the AC adaptor is plugged into the laptop, the green indicator light extinguishes and doesn't charge any other Laptops that take the same adapter (Tried with another Inspiron 15). The laptop also flat out refuses to boot without the battery when plugged into the wall.

XPS 13 (2015-6) Boot Configuration
Currently my XPS is configured with the default boot setup (windows boot manager/SSD/secure boot). I am using Acronis True Image for backup. If the drive does fail I will need to boot from a USB thumb drive.
What is the best way to accomplish this? Should I just leave things as is and if I need to boot from the USB drive I will change things then at startup? What settings do I need to change to give me access to USB drive?

Dell XPS 13 QHD+ 9350 Heat Problem
When the laptop is charging and being used, its temperature goes up higher than when not charging around 15 Celsius. I have tried monitoring the temperature during charging while playing games, the laptop is overheating and it went up to 94 Celsius then I tried to plug a laptop power adapter out, it went down to around 83 Celsius. It would always be like this. Another problem is the power adapter gets very hot during charging even in sleeping mode or playing games. I can't touch it!. Moreover, my screen is flicker sometimes while I'm playing games and displays that "display driver stop responding and has recovered"
My drivers are up to date. BIOS: 1.3.3

keyboard light failure
When I turn my computer off, sometimes (not always) the light of the keyboard is still on. It also happens when It goes in sleep mode. if it happens, then I can't turn the computer on, so I have to press for some seconds the turn on button to reset the computer. I am not sure if the Keyboard is the only one that stays whit energy when this happens so i don't know how to solve it.
My Computer is a Dell Inspiron 15 7000 series.
any idea how to solve it? I will be really Thankfull

Battery/Power problems with a Latitude E4310
The battery on my E4310 appeared to be bad (it wouldn't run for very long and had been losing power for awhile). The last time I went to use it about a week ago it wouldn't start at all even with the adaptor plugged in which was the first time it had done that.
I noticed that the green LED on the adaptor would go out as soon as I plugged it into the laptop. Since the laptop still wouldn't power-up I unplugged the adaptor from the laptop AND the wall outlet. When I plugged the adaptor back into the wall the LED would come back on but as soon as I plugged it into the laptop it would go out again.
I assumed that the battery had gone bad and was shorting out the adaptor and ordered a new battery but when that came in I had the very same problem. The adaptor LED would go out as soon as I connected it to the laptop even if the battery wasn't even connected to the laptop, and as soon as I unplugged the adaptor from the wall and then plugged it back in the LED would come back on.
What is the MOST likely problem as it obviously isn't the battery but more likely something within the laptop itself? Is there anything I can check given that the system will not power-up or boot into the BIOS?
