I have a Dell E6220 laptop and the cpu fan makes a ticking noise like
maybe one of the blades is hitting the frame of maybe there is a bad
bearing. This is a recent referb.
Anyone have the same problem?
Can I open the bottom of the laptop and get the fan running?
Can I run the fan out of the case?

I have an Alienware M18X R2 with windows 7 Ultimate 64x. It has 16gb memory Samsung 500gb ssd 840 hard drive. I was reinstalling the os. After finishing with all the updates and drives laptop worked fine. I had too much junk in the drive since I bought it in 2012. That's why I reinstalled the os. Then I went and installed two more drives to add my steam games in one and on the other to add windows 10. So as I started it, all I heard were 7 beeps. What went wrong? Do I have to replace the cpu, I read what the 7 beeps meant or is there another way making sure the cpu is ok? Thanks Humberto Haro

Inspiron 7559 Driver Downloads Missing?
I apologize if I posted this in the wrong section, I couldn't really decide what category this fit under, so apologies in advance if this should have been somewhere else.
Recently I purchased a Dell 7559. I got the base model (i5, 8gb, and the standard HDD). I also bought an additional 8gb module, as well as a 2.5 inch SSD to replace that hard drive. I threw in the upgrades, reinstalled Windows, and went to go download the drivers for it, but much to my surprise the drivers page only seems to offer a single driver for download.
So basically my problem is as follows.
When I go to the store page for the Dell 7559, I click the 'Drivers, Manuals, and Support' tab, and navigate to the drivers and downloads page (by clicking 'Get Started' followed by the 'Drivers and Downloads' tab on the next page).
However when I get to this section, only one driver appears. It doesn't matter what filters I use, or what operating system I select, only the single driver (the 'Dell Airplane Mode Switch Driver') appears as an option to download.
Even when entering my devices service tag, this is the only driver on the list.
I'm not sure if the site is currently broken, or if maybe I have a bad link or something? I just don't know. lol
Basically I was wondering if anyone has encountered this problem, or if anyone has a link to the drivers page for the 7559 that actually has a full and populated list of available drivers. lol
Any thoughts or input/help would be greatly appreciated. :) Thanks in advance everyone!

MX17 Wireless Adapter Wont Enable
Hi there,
I cant get my wireless adapter to enable anymore. After using it with a cable i have decided to use the wireless on as as i am on a hoilday and the cable isnt an option. I have tried updating the drivers to fix the issue. I have done the updates through the dell support page for my laptop.
I have hit a brick wall and am in need of help.

dell 7548 keyboard only registering key inputs after key is held for a second.
I applied an update to windows 10 on my laptop and the keyboard has stopped working properly. when I type now I have to hold a key down for a second before it registers. nothing happens if I tap a key. extremely frustrating. please help.

Reinstall Windows 7 on E5570
I'm told by support that since the Latitude E5570's have an M.2 SSD in them, they need a driver to be installed before the typical Windows 7 OS install media with recognize the hard drive. If that's true, we kinda stuck if we lose the installed OS. We won't be able to re-install Windows 7. I have a "Smart-Repair" thumb drive from Dell which should allow you to re-install the OS but it doesn't work because there's no driver for the M.2 drive I assume. Those "Smart-Repair" USB drives have always worked in the past, but the with M.2 SSDs it appears to be something different. Any advise?

XPS 15 9550 - Restore with USB
Hi
Has anyone tried to reinstall the 9550 with the iso file that can be downloaded trough the support pages? I have tried everything to do this but the USB can´t be found, Tried to disable smart boot, enable legacy and have it set och AHCI but no success. Any ideas?

Performance: Dell XPS 13 9350 and Windows 10 clean installation
Good morning,
since a couple of days I'm the owner of a Dell XPS 13 with 16 GB of RAM, i7 processor and QHD+ display, but I noticed that general performances are not so fast (browsing inside Windows 10, launching applications and so on... sometimes the delays are visible). I've updated the BIOS to the last version and all other drivers are updated as well.
The question: if I decide to make a clean Windows 10 installation, would I gain some points in performances? Did someone try this before and noticed real improvements?

Inspiron 5547 laptop right side joint broken while opening
Hi,
i had purchased my dell 5547 from amazon.com, when i opened my laptop lid i heard a pop sound, however i didnt notice anything that time, however now i see that the right side hinge has come off and after joining this forum i see that this is a recurrent issue with the dell 5547 laptop, (refering to the thread Inspiron 5547 laptop pops open at the right side joint while closing),
I called up the tech support and they want $105 to fix the issue, since its a manufacturing defect, why should we bear this cost,
the solution to this problem has been to report to BBB.org, is this is what is expected or this issue will be sorted out here before i start posting my complaints at BBB.org.

New XPS13 does not sleep!
Brand new 1TB XPS 13.... great machine!
But... I select Sleep, close it , put in my bag, and hours later it is WARM (very warm), and has used up all the battery.
I have updated bios and all drivers to very latest...
I ran powercfg -energy, and then put it to sleep, and got this report:
What should I do?

THANK YOU FOR YOUR REALLY GOOD LAPTOP, NOT
in these past bloody 3 years with this piece of error machine i've been stressed, u know when u get a i5 2450m , 6 ram, nvidia 550m u will expect to get a really good fps at a simple games like counter strike 1.6 and counter strike global offensive right? well not me because getting a 30 fps on lowest settings in 1.6 is bad ? actually YES, and getting 12 fps on cs go with AN I5 AND 550M ,TOOOO BAD, not just this but this laptop is soooo laggy and has a bug with it's touch screen where it keeps self touching it self in right down corner it's driving me crazy
i don't wanna solution for this, i don't want anything expect letting u know how good this computer is
for the past 3 years i've been trying to fix, format, open, edit, make, solutions for it, spending nights and nights surfing the web for solutions with no results, nothing, can't even switch between the intel hd graphics 3000 and nvidia 550m
and again go away with your useless solutions because am gonna throw it back in the closet forever or eve use it as a cup holder
aha forgot to mention that it battery does not charge, tried everything from your advises and happily nothing worked (AND YES I REPLACED THE AC ADAPTER AND THE BATTERY)

Dell XPS 13 9350 Airplane mode sleep issues
This happens randomly. I can't seem to reproduce it on call. Basically I close the lid to put it to sleep but the computer doesn't go to sleep. Airplane mode just turns on but the laptop stays on.

New XPS 13 laptop: Often fails to see external display
Brand new 1TB XPS 13
I have a Dell supplied thunderbolt to displayport cable.
When I boot up fresh, the laptop sees the display fine.
But after the machine and/or external monitor sleeps, the laptop does not detect the external display. I can even cycle power on the external display, and 9 times out of 10 the laptop does NOT see the external display (it is kinda strange, because the laptop display flashes, as though it is detecting the external, but it does not ultimately see it).
In display management, the external display is there, but the wrong size, and it doesn't display anything (and the external display itself says "no signal").
How to get this baby working right?
All drivers on the XPS are fresh as can be. Just downloaded and installed (again) yesterday.

Dell M6700 Nvidia Quadro K4000M No display After Secure Boot
Hi,
M6700 doesnot show anything on the screen.
here's what i did:
Installed windows 10 in UEFI enabled and Legacy ROM enabled.
After installation, Secure boot.
Blank Screen Now.
Tried reset by removing CMOS battery. no luck
Need Help.
