my laptop is Inspiron 15R, windows 8.1.
my problem is, after connecting audio jack and increasing the volume up-to 100 level the CPU fan automatically increases and its getting shutdown. This problem is not appearing when normally increasing the volume ie., with out connecting the audio jack.

While waiting for a new battery to show up I went and lost the screws that hold the backplate on on my Vostro V130. I also had taken the display screws out as well, and so they're gone as well.
Can anybody tell me the correct screw sizes I need to get? There are a total of 5 on the underside and 2 on the back. I don't think they are the same as the V13. The screw sizes are not in the manual or that I've found on youtube or iFixit.

As a background information, i have:
Dell Latitude E6430 with Windows 7 OS.
What happened is this: I replaced the old battery last Tuesday with a new one. I was able to use the newly bought Dell Battery. On Wednesday, the laptop suddenly shut down. I noticed that it didn't call my attention that the battery was very low and needs to be charged. Since it shut down unexpectedly, I checked first the condition of the hard disk and repaired it and found ok. Afterwards, i plugged in the charger to the laptop but now, the battery indicator tells that it does not charging. It was also verified when I put the cursor to the battery icon.
From the forums in this community, I tried to update the BIOS version from A12 to A16 but nothing changed - the battery still not charging.
Could anyone suggest possible solution? I suspect that there might be a loose connection with the new battery installed in my laptop because I tried to install it on an another Dell Latitude E6430 computer and indicates the same problem. I try also to use my old battery and found it charging (though the battery is degrading).

i have recently installed windows 10 in my laptop its inspiron n5110 before my usb3 was working but now its not working i checked the device manager in windows 10 usb host xhcl compliant host controller cannot start (error 10) i restarted the computer but it didn't work what i should do?

My Dell XPS 13 9343 is giving me a lot of trouble. I am currently running Windows 10 on this machine. Whenever I turn this laptop on I get a black screen and then I somehow enter my password and after 20 secs it comes on. Sometime when I am working the screen randomly goes black and then I push escape key and some other keys and it comes on. In addition, sometimes when I am working screen just randomly flickers and then blacks out.
Can you please help me with this issue?

I have a Dell Inspiron 15R N5110. Four months ago I upgraded from win 7 to win 10. Everything was working fine till the last win 10 update.
Particularly, my Dell bluetooth mouse only works when I pair it to the laptop so if I restart the laptop is not working even if is shown to be paired with the laptop. I reinstalled the bt drivers but I have the same problem again. I unchecked the option that the laptop can turn off bluetooth for saving power but still the same.
In the support page of Dell for that model is written the following:
Dell is not testing or developing Windows 10 drivers for this product. If you choose to upgrade, some features, applications, and connected devices may not work as expected.
Do you have any idea how can I fix that problem? I want to use my bt mouse

I've got a 2-year-old Inspiron 17R 5737 and it's got the black screen with 7 beeps and I can't start it up.
I've taken it to a computer repairer and he says the motherboard needs replacing as it's been damaged due to overheating. But he says he can only find a secondhand motherboard in the US for $230 which would have no warranty and might not last very long.
Surely I could purchase a new motherboard? Any suggestions? In any case, I'm not very impressed as it's only just over 2 years old.
I bought dell Inspiron 11 3148 from retail shop today (25/02/2016). While viewing the warranty details of the laptop in dell.com, I could find that the warranty, shipped dates, etc are one month past (Shipped date : 10/Oct/2015 Warranty start :04/Jan/2016) of the actual buy date. Why this so ? Is it because a used one? or refurbished (Retailer claims it as brand new). Please help, I have 6 days left to return the item to the seller, if it is a used one.

Recently, I've upgraded to windows 10, the WiFi remains off permanently, I'm wondering if someone can provide a link for the 32bit version of the WLAN driver for windows 10, it isn't listed in the downloads section.
Ever since Windows upgraded to Windows 10, I always get a driver error with the freefall application.
I was wondering if there was a solution to this.
I have had my machine since November I think and have never had an issue or a crash. Earlier today I updated the BIOS for the improved battery life I have been hearing about from version 1.0.05 (I think, it was not x.xx.15 it was the one before that) to the most recent x.xx.19 version. Noticed a definite improvement in battery life of about 1.5 hours however since then my machine has crashed to a black screen 4 times. When it crashes the screen turns black (Not off), and the keyboard lights light up when I use the keyboard but none of the keys are responsive. The first time after powering on my wifi would not be recognized but I restarted and that issue fixed itself. Is there anything I can do to fix this, I do not have time to send my machine in for a motherboard replacement as I code on it daily and it would be a massive pain in the *** to lose for an extended period of time. I can provide more details if needed.

I have purchased two external monitors from dell recently.
I have 13inch macbook pro 2010 edition laptop. which got two USB port, One Mini Display port and an Ethernet.
My question is: How do I connect two external monitors to my macbook pro. I wanted to have an extended screens. I dont want to mirror my laptop screens in other two monitors.

I've had the problem of "plugged in not charging" for a long time now. But when i re-plugged the charger a few times, it started charging again.
But about a month ago, it didn't anymore. Now it just never charger no matter what i do.
I am pretty sure it is the motherboard. Since my laptop still has less preformance even if the battery is out,so it is not the battery. And it is also not the charger, because other correct chargers are also not charging the laptop. (i let it test it in a small laptop store)
And please, any dell support guy, i did every guide you have on your site, so don't post those please.

I just purchased a used dell inspiron 1545 laptop. It has 3 GB of memory and running Windows 7 Home Premium. I actually have 2 questions. The first question is, I would like to install Windows 7 Pro 32 bit Version as I already have the install disk for it,what are the correct drivers and can I down load them from Dell? My second question is can I upgrade the memory to 8 GB or am I better off with 4 GB of ram?
I bought my alienware 13 at Aug 2015, by Nov the battery is died. But the laptop is working fine with a power cord and I am really busy that time, so I called DELL until Feb. After some phone diagnosis, DELL decide to let a onsite technician replace my battery, the part shipped fast and the technician contacted me timely.
When we met, he seems a nice guy really, but he is not so good to my laptop. He went to my office to repair my laptop and I was around busying on stuffs and pass by him sparsely, but when I take a look, I saw he was having some trouble connecting the wire and find the right place for screws. I didn't worry a lot because everybody have their working style. However, after the battery replacement ,this took him 1 and a half hour, when he run the diagnosis, the VGA fan is not working, so he said he would continuing and recheck that, I feel a little anxious but I am at work I have works to do, so I left and after 5 mins he said it's done then prepare to leave. After I walk him to the parking lot and get back I run the diagnosis my self(Well it's just only F12 and diagnosis), everything did passed.
Then the not going so well part, yesterday I plugged a jump drive in my left USB port as I did normally, but got no response. Then I test with my phone and some portable hard drive, the phone seems charging but also no sign of hardware recognition on windows.The wire or cable of this port must have been connect loose if there is any wire. I opened the HDD and RAM cover and hope I could maybe see the connector. Then the scene is like this(figure 1), I think this black tape is from the last 5 mins repair for the VGA fan, because I didn't saw that previously. And when I look closely, the connector of Keyboard back light is also chipped( the white plastic part in figure 2).
In a follow up customer service Email for the battery replacement, they let me call some number to fix the USB problem. But I am tired of this chain of problem DELL created by them self and feel no need to repeat to DELL customer service or tech support the whole story on phone because they don't really care about my property once it's bought from them. They do the repair is only because the warranty is forced by law. that's why they do fix your problem but did it poorly or say let someone fixed it poorly.
Personally I won't purchase on DELL again, not only because this overall messy experience of Alienware 13 but also other bad history such as a order cancel without noticing me after 2 weeks of last day delay on a digital writing board I ordered.
I am a foreigner to this country, so please forgive the grammar and other English problem if any. I saw above standard working integrity all around me but not this DELL warranty experience.

Windows starts fine, there are some graphics issues with gaming and wifi issues but nothing extreme. Diagnostic tools ran several time and showed no issue. What are these beeps for? I tried to apply the usual Dell list of beeps but that does not seem to be matching.

I have being trying to factory rest my Dell Inspiron 5749 laptop with no success, i downloaded Dell Backup and Recovery (DBAR) Application and installed it.
I ran the application and created a factory recovery media on a usb flash successfully.
I trayed to restore my laptop to the factory image without success and this note poped out (an error occured while selecting the system backup to restore).
I Left the flash memory attached to the laptop and restarted and pressing F12, entered the bios mode and selected boot from usb drive,the laptop buted from the flash drive and gived me the following error (IDS_ENVIRONMENT_INCOMPLETE) followed by another error (Restore7.exe-Application Error) followe by this text (The instructio at0x8fc1f43b referenced memory at 0x02ee6e80.The memory could not be read)
Note the system on my laptop is windows 10 64bit.
