My USB ports don't seem to recognize what is attached. I've done a diagnostic and it passes. The ports will power-up an external HD but it does not recognize it. Same for a mouse. They no longer work. The keyboard and track-pad does. I've updated all drivers and BIOS. Another confusing issue which may be related, or not, it that when I plugged in the power source an error message said that it is not recognized and that charging may not work. It does supply power but I can't seem to start the computer on battery alone.
I'm running Win 10 and it worked just fine. I've scanned for spyware and viruses and nothing (except cookies which I delete)
I purchased this new laptop about a week ago and now I'm having a couple of annoying issues. Windows 10 was preinstalled and the latest build 1511 just installed itself a day or two ago.
1st issue: I keep getting the Intel graphics error listed below that randomly pops up then goes away. I am not doing anything stressful. I could just be browsing ebay and it will on occasion pop up.
2nd issue: Perhaps it's related or it could be nothing at all. To try and fix the problem listed above, I checked the driver version. Device Manager has the most recent driver version listed which is 20.19.15.4312. The issue is Device Manager says the driver date is 10/28/15 but the Dell website says it was released 1/22/16. So I don't understand why the dates are different.
On a similar note, I went to update the Kionix freefall sensor and Device Manager has version 1.1.4.0 however Dell has version 1.1.4.1 listed as the most recent. After downloading and installing the latest version, Device Manager still shows 1.1.4.0 instead of the most recent. I tried numerous times with the same result even though the install process shows no issues and says it was successful.
I had the exact issue trying to update another driver but I don't remember which one. Device Manager just does not seem to want to show the latest installed version.
Any help would be appreciated.
Hi there, I own a Dell Inspiron 7737 i7 laptop (which I bought a year ago), and a while ago, out of the blue, I was unable to write DVD's. I googled the issue I was having, and everywhere it said that it was probably due to a corrupted driver, and that a re-installation should fix the issue. I uninstalled the driver, but I've been unable to reinstall it.
If I go to Device Manager in Windows 8, there is no category/section for DVD/CD drives, and I went to the following link, but I am unable to spot the DVD driver on that list....
Any advice?

I have a Dell Latitude E5450. If I turn on the computer there will be a power log within the bios saying "Power on - not applicable". I don't know if they are related, but there is another symptom. Occasionally when I turn on my laptop, after the screen with the Dell logo, the windows doesnt turns on. The dell logo fades out but the windows doesnt starts. The sytem doesnt response anything and there is just a black screen, but it doesnt shut down either.The dell logo fades out but the windows doesnt starts.
If I turn off and during the screen with the dell logo I press the f12 button and ask directly to boot from the internal hdd it will work just fine, but its weird.
I ran the diagnostic and it doesnt give me any errors. Can you help me, please? I updated the bios, so I have a11 bios.

I've installed a T-mobile (NL) simcard in my Venue Pro 11, but for some reason I'm not getting connected to the internet.
When I use the problem-solver in Windows 10 it says I need a simpincode2 to get connected.
Does anyone know if I can deactivate this option? According to T-mobile it's an hardware demand. Does anyone know if I can get this to work with an T-mobile simcard?

Hoping for some advice before I replace video card and/or mother board.
When I boot my XPS 13 L322X (windows 8), I hear 8 beeps and the boot stops at the bios screen. And the screen image is split as shown in the image below. I know 8 beeps is supposed to indicated LCD failure, but this doesnt look like failure to me. Would you disagree?
I can get to the boot admin via F12, but that image is fractured too.
Welcome any suggestions or observations.

Dell 5559 i5 6200u with AMD m350 audio crash(audio cracking sound) when power source is changed usually when power shifts to battery. the problem often occurs when watching online videos, like from youtube or Facebook. the sound is choped and terrible noise came with audio from Laptop speakers. But no sound issue when using a plug in device like headphones. or external speakers.
only solution is to restart that application.
Hello, so I bought this brand new Dell Inspiron 15 5559 machine and I was super excited. Today it is 13th day I have it and I am sad about one thing. Laptop is rattling/crackling when being plugged and you do common stuff such as browsing web. It does not affect functionality, but it is super annoying and quite unpleasant with NEW machine. I would like to ask if it is normal or I am just being paranoid.
I have everything updated - drivers, bios, I even reinstalled whole Windows. I don't know what to do. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I have a Latitude E6410, running Win7 Pro. The Dell factory HDD crashed (and unreadable) two years ago and another HDD was installed.
When accessing Skype or the like, and the webcam is activated, I get the tally light, sound, but no image. I've upgraded BIOS to A16 and updated drivers for the webcam. The 'Device Manager', under 'Imaging Devices' shows both the Integrated Webcam and an external Logitec webcam. Both state "This device is working properly'.
I do not find the program 'Dell Webcam Central'. I've tried to load it from the Dell site, but it must be an update and requires the original program.
I need to find out where I can get the Dell Webcam Central and/or how to get the webcam to image again. It had been working, prior to the HDD crash / replacement. I understand that Dell writes a sector to the HDD for proprietary software.
Since I purchased this laptop from Dell, how can I get the support cd that came with the Latitude.

On my Dell Latitude E6510 the Wi-Fi turns itself off when I close the lid, and turns itself back on when I open the lid.
I have the power management in Win7 set to DO NOTHING when I close the lid while running on AC power, but closing the lid still shuts down the Wi-Fi.
I'd rather have the wi-fit stay on with the lid closed so the laptop will stay on my home network, but I cannot find any setting to make the wi-fi stay on.
Am I missing something or is this just something that the Latitude always does -- none of my earlier Dell laptops ever did this.
It took me some time to fine tune my XPS 15, here's my 2 cents.
3 tips for enhancing the XPS 15.

The The Dell Feature Enhancement Pack Application 2.2.1, A00. It really works although it's an older package not officially for the XPS 15.

You can safely install the package although i created a restore point to be safe.
When done go to windows settings and search for DELL.
You will see the option to change the back light setting.
With FN F10 you can turn the backlight on/off.
Tip 2, Create a home, end page-up page-down key
I really missed the dedicated home,end and pageup/down buttons.
I installed the program Sharpkeys and changed the right Alt and Ctrl in a Home and End key.
I use the F11 and F12 as page up and down. It's easily done with the Sharpkeys program.

Tip 3, I installed a program called Holdkey to disable the capslock and use it a shiftkey.
I just applied the latest bios and the latest thunderbolt firmware and now I am having major issues. I have a Thunderbolt to Display port adapter and it always worked perfectly. Now the monitor flickers and goes into sleep mode. It seems like the laptop does not recognize it correctly. I see that people are talking about similar issues with the TB 15 dock. I am wondering if their issues are not related to the doc but Dell messed up the TB controller in the new bios/firmware.
I have a Dell Inspiron M731R-5735 (Windows 8). I forgot the password so I did a reset on the whole computer. I did this by holding down shift while restarting and it brought up the trouble shoot page and I did the reset. After the reset, as i was setting it up, the low battery message popped up and then went off. I lost the charger as well but I went to my local Walmart and bought a universal laptop charger, and it had a DELL adapter. The LED light on the charger box would light up, as if it was working, but as soon as I connected it to my computer the light went off and the computer wouldn't charge. Even with the computer dead, if i press the power button no lights show up at all. I don't know if I should get a new DELL charger, a new battery, or if it's just my computer.

I have Dell Inspiron 15 3000 Series. Recently i had problems with my internal HDD, so I'll have to replace the internal drive and install Windows 8.1 ( as I got the same when I bought the laptop), and i was not provided with the product key at the time of purchase. So i just wanted to know if the Windows key still does exist in the BIOS even after replacing the HDD?

My keyboard does not work after my Dell XPS 15 9550 wakes up from sleep. I have to swipe up on the screen in order to type in my password to log in. Then the keyboard works fine.
I don't know if this is a hardware issue or a Windows issue.

I just bought a new batter for my Inspiron 15 r. It worked in the begining as it came a bit charged from the shop. But after it power finished my laptop works when I have the adapter plugged in and when I remove I get a notification that my battery is about die and I need to charge. What's going on here?? Help please :)
