Hi guys, I want to perform a clean install of windows on my machine, so I'm wondering which bios settings (sata connection, boot etc) are the best with this kind of storage. and which drivers are the best.
because now I have very bad write performance, far less good then samsung official benchmarks. I also read about disabling the cache flushing option in device policy, but is it a safe move?

Hi I have a Dell Inspiron 2 in one and the computer does not transition well from laptop to tablet mode. Screen flickers, sometimes does not work when in tablet mode at all. It seems like something is loose or something. Works great as a laptop but I cannot use as a tablet. Definetely a hardware issue.
How can I get this fixed?

How do I extend the C partition on the Hard Drive. In Disk Management The Extend option for the C partition is greyed out.

My Dell Precision M6800 is fairly new (July 2015). It arrived with Windows 8.1, and was updated to Windows 10. (The update was performed on the original factory system and settings.)
This laptop (and a new Inspiron 17 at the church) frequently freezes when shutting down, or when restarting after going into sleep mode and some Dell and Windows updates. I have tried resetting the BIOS to the default settings. It still occasionally freezes.
This is very frustrating. I never had this happen with any other computer, including my self-built tower computer.
Please help. I am at my wits end (and so is our IT Committee for the church laptop).

Looking for a little guidance or assistance on an issue I'm having with my customer's new Latitude E3540 series notebooks. We have 2 of these notebooks, and for some reason, they will not play certain training DVD's (Sent to us from Industrial Training Institute). The actual video files on disc are .VOB. I have installed the k-lite mega pack thinking it was just missing the proper codecs, but unfortunately that was not the case.
When you insert the training DVD in question, the default media player ( I have tried WMP and VLC) opens up and attempts to autoplay, but just sits at a black screen. You can hear the drive starting to spin the disc, then stopping about 1.5 seconds after, then repeating -> Start, Stop, Start, Stop. It will continue attempting to read in this fashion until you forcibly kill the process and eject the disc. I have turned off autoplay, and just tried to navigate to the VOB files and play those, but had no luck that route, either. I got one of the transition clips to play, it was about a 20 second clip, and when it went to load the next file, it sat at the black screen again attempting to read the rest of the disc, just like before. Could not get any other file on disc to load.
Both notebooks will play a production / Hollywood film DVD with no issues. We have a Red Cross training DVD that also has .VOB files on disc, and that also launches and auto plays normally. Also, they will read any other data DVD / CD without issues.
So at this point I'm thinking, must be the ITI training disc right? Well I inserted the disc into another brand new Dell Optiplex 3020, and it launches right up and plays.
Just to be sure, the ITI sent us a brand new set of discs, but unfortunately they had the same result. Basically, these DVD's work in every other PC we have on hand (tested about 8 of them) EXCEPT these Latitude E3540 series notebooks. And both notebooks play every other disc EXCEPT the training DVD's from ITI.
Any response or suggestions would be appreciated!
I was just on youtube, when I accidentally hit something on my inspiron 15 7000 series laptop, and the screen turned 90 degrees, which was vertical. so I decided to turn off my computer to see if it would be fixed if I turned it on and off again. now I can't even turn on the computer! what's worse, the power strip doesn't do much!
I installed Windows 10 on my XPS 11. The installation process seem to work OK. However, when I rebooted, the Dell logo displays briefly on the screen twice and then all I get is a black screen.
Any suggestions on how to fix this?

I have for weeks, sought out a contact to Dell's customer service, product feedback department with no success! I purchased a Dell lap top to give as a gift - 4 weeks later computer doesn't turn on. Had to go to Geek Squad (worst experience ever, I am going on one month of the computer in repair), can't return because the policy is 30 days and I was one day past it.
How is it that companies can do this? Really, the motherboard blows in 4 weeks!? I am very disappointed with my entire experience from both Dell and Geek Squad and will deal with Geek Squad next. As for Dell - where is your contact info to discuss your faulty equipment and is 4 weeks really reasonable? Seriously, you think that a computer totally shutting down after 4 weeks is a good product. Someone from Dell - please address this? I don't understand and I am to be penalized as a consumer and where are companies who stand behind their products? Need an appropriate contact to address this.
Hey guys I'm having issues with my SSD
I'm using RAID and after the computer sleep and wakes my sequential read and write are cut by half. If I use AHCI I have a bunch os BSOD Critical process died.
Anyone know how to fix the sleep issue?

I have quite old version of Inspiron 7520 that was shipped with OEM Windows 7 and one HDD only. Now I bought a SSD and found that I can't just reinstall my OS to the new SSD:
So - as far as I understand - I have two* possibilities:
The second case looks more legal :) but what if I'll find that Windows 10 is not usable for me?
So, here is the question: can I legally switch to my HDD drive with original Windows 7 (or restore it from the original backup partition) after upgrade to Windows 10**? I'm not sure about all these features with saving Windows' key in BIOS and so on :)
* Did I miss another way to move OEM Windows 7 to a new SSD?

The title says it all really. I bought this laptop in 2014 with WIN 8 installed and everything worked perfectly. Since then it's upgraded to Windows 10 Home, with the last OS upgrade coming in a few days ago.
However, Bluetooth has disappeared completely: it's no longer in the settings menu or the device manager. I'm not sure when this happened as I don't use Bluetooth that often - just for transferring the occasional photo from my phone - but I remember it worked fine a couple of months ago.
After an online search I discovered I'm not alone - many other devices have suffered the same fate as mine, not just Dell. Most solutions I found suggest installing the latest Bluetooth drivers, so I searched the Dell site, entered my computer spec and installed Dell Wireless 1705 Wi-Fi+ Bluetooth Driver, which didn't fix it.
Then I tried Dell Wireless 1704 Bluetooth Driver, which wouldn't even install - kept asking me to turn on Bluetooth during installation.
Those are the only 2 Bluetooth drivers for my laptop available on the Dell site (that I can see).
I also checked the Bluetooth Support Service - it's running.
I also tried installing the Bluetooth hardware in Device Manager "Install Legacy Hardware", but it's not listed.
I also tried pressing F2 during startup to see the BIOS screen, but I didn't understand it and got scared - ESC.
So now I'm at a loss as to what to do.
The computer is well cared for. I don't take it anywhere - it just sits on my desk at home. It hasn't suffered any damage at all - hasn't been knocked or dropped - and it still looks as good as new.
Everything else works flawlessly - except the darn Bluetooth.
Can anyone help me fix this?

Hi, recently my Dell Latitude D610 stopped powering on. When I press the power key, the device will power on, the caps lock LED will blink 8-10 times, and then the device will shutdown. There is no battery in the machine and the AC Adapter is the original one that came with the device and is working properly. I would like to know how to fix this issue.
HI there. How do I obtain a Windows 7 OS disk so I can switch to a SSD. I I think I was supposed to have already received it but we never got it.. It will be a clean install on a new SSD.

I was so confused. At first, my charger works on my laptop then now it didnt. When I plugged the charger it willcharge for just about 3 seconds and it will not work again. I dont know what to do with is. Can you help me regarding with this problem?
I purchased Dell Inspiron 15R 5521 2 years ago. From the first month itself i have realized some problem related with battery. Those days, if my laptop was running on battery power (not plugged in) , when I close my laptop lid and open it, the battery info used to show 250 hrs remaining and so. I thought it might be operating software problem. Now for last 2 months the battery is not charging upto 100% and its showing around "80% available, plugged in, not charging". I did a full format using windows 8.1 disc one week back but still the battery problem exists in my laptop. I tried updating bios using the latest bios file available in the driver site, but didn't make any difference. Please help me to solve this issue.

Hey guys just brought the XPS 15 4K model and once started up the left side of the track pad is way too hot to touch which is quite uncomfortable. Is this a common problem as this lap top is brand spanking new! I can't even rest my wrist there as that's how hot it is. Abit disappointed
