First time post. Have a very strange question. While my XPS 17 was running my cat sprayed the back lid and urine ran down into the hinge and the ports. After I removed the battery, I sprayed it with neutralizer and let it dry on a heating vent. Seems to be okay but should the unit be dismantled and cleaned?

I have dell 7140 and I'm very satisfied by this product.
However, today, while I was typing a word document (I was using the keyboard with additional battery inside), the tablet emitted a strange sound (very metallic and high pitched) and then a Blue Screen of Death appeared. The error was “DRIVER_IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL (lntcADSP.sys)”. I tried to google it but nothing comes out.
Can you help me on this? I'm just worried about the tablet (and myself), can it explode?

I have a Dell Inspiron 1440 and its not turning on when the laptop keyboard is connected. When I remove the keyboard the laptop turns on and everything works, except that there is no keyboard connected for me to use.
Any idea on what's wrong and how to fix it would be much appreciated.

I've tried everything that I can think of, and it seems worthless to upgrade to Windows 10 if you can't use the computer as it was designed.

Bcoz its bigger sibling inspiron 13 7000 does support active stylus...
Bt in inspiron 11 there is nowhere mentioned support for the active stylus or it has a digitiser screen..

The thing is that Active styluses are a bit costlier therefore i can't try it out by myself as i am a student and dont have enough money just for trying those... Its like wasting money..
If you anwer my query, then only i'll buy a piece of stylus..

I recently purchased a Dell XPS13 here in Singapore, and since I got the product it has been shocking and always had on going problems. Worse than the product has been the customer service. I have spent hours on the phone with so call technical people who blame every other product than the XPS13 and kept trying the same fixes over and over again.
They then agreed to send a engineer out but cancel this to yet again try the same fixes over and over again. Yes a month later I did get a engineer and the repair was made but he suspected there was a possible problem with the motherboard and said he would report this.
From that point on the issues got worse and worse until the laptop was not fit for purpose so I asked for a refund and was refused and told they don't do refunds. I tried to make a complaint or talk with someone senior but they refused to pass my call on.
In the end (CASE - Singapore consumer advice) help me get a refund from the store I purchased the product from and asked them to take the Complaint up with Dell, but unfortunately the free gifts I received on purchasing (nothing I wanted as I had them all already but accepted them) the laptop I now have to buy as they are not faulty. I tried to discuss this with Dell but they couldn't care less. I emailed Dell to complain but have yet to hear back and see what he thinks on this whole subject.

As it is clear from the title, it stopped working. In Device Manager 2 problematic devices appeared and nothing can fix it (updating, etc.). See pic1 please.
1. I reinstalled BIOS - did not help.
2. I reinstalled Video card driver, it was older than the version I had, but still I installed and it did not help.
3. I tried to reinstall chipset drivers, but only 1 was able to instal (Chipset_Driver_P6MGW_WN32_10.1.1.7_A00)
Other 2 were incompatible with my windows (pic2). (Chipset_Driver_MYKYH_WN32_604.10135.1001.55518_A00 and Chipset_Driver_H5YDW_WN32_1.1.0.1064_A02).
I have 64 bit Windows 10 system.
Please help to resolve. Thank you.

bought a latitude e6320 , no poweradapter came with it. so I just plugged in a hp adapter with 19.5 v and more amps , started fine
problem 1... processor stuck att 0.6GHz , so disabled speedstep.
problem 2.. the processor should go between 2.5-3.2Ghz , turbo was on in bios
so had to fix with software.. now goes up to 3.2 and graphic card boosts to..
and problem 3.. battery will not charge because can not recognize the adapter.
so was wondering if there is a way to disable the AC adapter recognition and let the battery charge..
if you answer is buy a dell power adapter becouse of the "chip" that says its a dell power adapter, thats not what Iam asking here , Iam asking if anybody knows of a workaround , like soldering on the motherboard.. or hacked bios , or software .. ,, or another battery .. there is no way in *** Iam buying a dell power adapter ever ever again ...
I have a laptop of model dell vostro 3446 with windows 8.1 OS (not genuine) and all the drivers are up to date. While the files copying through the usb 3.0 to pen-drives it's speed suddenly goes to 0Kb/s.But copying to mobile and external hard disk it will work.In external hard disk it do not get the normal speed of usb 3.0 and little bit slow about 20-32Mb/s.
I have checked it for hardware problems and undergone dell hardware test and diagnosis. but these also show no hardware error. The other usb 2.0 ports works properly.

One more thing. I use mouse and it works fine. But sometimes I need trackpad. Drivers were installed by Windows 10 automatically. I can move cursor, and I can press (click), but scrolling doesn't work at all. I tried to install official driver, but it is incompatible with my windows 10, while it was on the appropriate Dell drivers list, specifically for my Windows 10 64 bit system. System protects itself from installing it, even when I chose install anyway. Driver name is Input_Driver_PT70C_WN_18.1.34.34_A00.EXE

I have a user with an XPS13 from 2013 and the USB 3.0 dock with an external monitor keyboard and mouse. Periodically the monitor off the dock will shut down (say no signal), and the screen is thrown back to the laptop - but the keyboard and mouse continue to work. The way to fix it is to unplug the usb cable and plug it back in, but in a few minutes it will do it again.
Any ideas?

I just got a brand new xps 15. I wiped the disc and install linux on it. My OS use the GMT date and my timezone to know my actual time. At boot time, the OS get the system time which is not localized (ie is set to my time zone time) and thus calculate a wrong time.
So, I tried to set the time in the BIOS to the GMT time, so my OS could get the universal time at boot time and then calculate the actual time of my timezone, but I just cannot change the hour part of the time. It seems I can change the day, minutes, but not the hours. I just cannot believe I can't set the time of my system, so I assume I'm doing something wrong, but I can't figure out what.
Any help ?
I have a problem with my dell studio 1555.
Once I press the start button I can hear the booting process (fan + dvdrom), but the screen remains black all the time.
I have performed these tests:
1. Connect to an external monitor through the HDMI -> nothing
2. Remove RAM modules, checked with other, leaving one slot empty and then the other slot -> nothing
3. Diagnostic: Start button + D -> I see flashing colors on the screen for a while, then it returns to black.
4. Remove Battery, the AC power and BIOS batery + Press start button 30 seconds to remove all electricity from the PC -> then I start again the PC and the screen again black.
Any ideas?
Could it be a motherboard or GPU video problem?

Hello! I am an owner of a m18xr2 alienware. While I was playing a game my system froze... no ctrl+alt+delete was working, nothing... So, forced a shut down (hold the alien head down for about 5 seconds), then I tried to reboot. When my pc booted, I hear the fans work, the led lights light up and... that's it! Couldn't go to bios and there was a black screen the whole time. I tried to reboot many times (with battery & without one), but the problem remained. I called dell support and after a few failed attempts the technician told me to shut down the pc, long press FN and boot it up (while pressing the FN button). Well it worked and got me to an error test scanner! After 40 minutes the test was complete, found no errors, then rebooted without any problems! To be sure I went to dell support website and run the diagnostics test (the quick one and the long one) and found that my machine was running properly without any issues... My question is should I worry? Will it happen again? Should I do something?
This laptop is about 3 years old. The problem occurs when it goes into sleep or hibernate. The power button is the only thing that gets a response. It wakes to a black screen and starts beeping (7, I think). I have been able to get it to reboot by removing and re-seating the battery, memory and hard drive. The last time it happened the machine refreshed and I lost my bookmarks and had to reload several programs. This is the third or fourth time I have had to refresh the machine in 3 years and this is very frustrating. Help us Obi Wan Kenobe, you're our only hope (unless Dell Support has an answer for me). Other than that, I love the laptop (after loading classic shell so I am more familiar with navigating the programs). I would love to get it to wake by either opening the top or moving the mouse if it was left open, is that possible?
