Hello!
I am trying to download the windows 8 software but i am stuck at the register system page. after I agree with the terms and hit register, the register button disappears and nothing else happens. I want to reinstall the operating system.
My 15Z computer "locks up" whenever automatic maintenance runs (clock symbol on Action Center flag), whether it starts automatically or I do it manually; how do I fix this?

1st let me say I have always been happy with the computers, sales, service, and warranty from Dell until now. And
always recommended them to my employees, friends or anyone that needed a computer. I have always ordered Dell Computers in the past because of the great customizations available. I was always able to build my computer with the fastest and best choices of options in Processors, Hard Drives, Memory, and Video Cards until now. I upgraded my computer usually every 2-3 years. Now that I’m getting ready to order a new 17” laptop computer again I have no choices left if I want the i7-4800MQ processor, 16gb ram, and NVIDIA® GeForce® with either 2-3 GB of memory. It’s a Alienware or else!
Not available in 17” XPS (discontinued), Inspiron 17” (not Available) I’m not into gaming mainly audio & video apps so I don’t need all those 3D effects, fancy colors or gaming options.
Because of my age and havingcancer this will probably be my last computer if I get a 4yr warranty since I didn’t care how long it took to get the computer, I just wanted it built with what I wanted.
Now I have to look at Msi, and as much as I hate it HP.
No wonder Dell stock id going down. Sure wish the old Dell was back! Going to loose another customer but I know it's just business!
For some reason, my password will not work. I was just going to reset it, but the Wizard says I have to insert a disk that has my password info on it. I don't have such a disk. How can I get onto my Dell laptop? Please help!! Thanks:)
My XPS 17 L702X has worked perfectly until today.
I did some work from home, and then I turned off the system this morning, and returned back to it a few hours later, and it would not fire up.
I have removed the battery and done a memory dump 'Power Button' restart, and nothing.
I have tried with both power cable connected and unplugged - Nothing!
I am just a couple of months outside my business warranty.

Can DELL do anything to help please? I need my system back ASAP for work.
I recently turned my WoW account back on and have attempted to start playing it on my dell laptop. I have a Inspiron 17 (N7010) with Windows 8, upgraded from Windows 7, I have also changed the hard drive from the default HDD to a 1TB HDD, Also I upgraded the memory from 6GB to 8GB. However even with all these improvements, my computer still powers down after anywhere from a couple of hours, and sometimes less than 30 minutes of playing WoW. I do not run the game on the highest graphics settings, and eventhough I do not have that great of a video card, it was still running at 96 fps during my last session. Can someone please tell me what the heck is going on?
Hi,
few months ago, my son dropped soda on the keyboard of this laptop. I turned it off immidiately and cleaned keyboard after pulling it out, then waited for 2 days leaving it open. After 2 days I assembled keyboard back and tried to run the laptop. The laptop works fine but the keyboard is not responding. I have changed the keyboard by a new one but the result is the same. Also, when the keyboard connector (a bus under the keyboad) is connected the laptop runs slow. If I remove this connector, it works absolutely fine.
I have no idea what is wrong with this laptop.
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks,
K2L

I have a problem with my laptop, Dell Inspiron n5010....
I installed a windows 7 system (32bits), and now my wireless don't working... I can't turn on with Fn+F2, or only F2.. I installed all drivers...
Maybe you don't know what could be wrong? Or can i have a description of which driver I need to install?
Thank your for helping,

Recently I received this laptop from a friend to fix because Windows 7 Home Premium (x64) was not starting up. So I booted from a linux bootable usb drive to format the hard disk. I noticed that it took awhile to do everything, even starting up in the bootable OS it took more than 15 minutes to boot up. Installing windows, then starting up the computer and getting on Windows 7 again, all of these things took forever to load up. I installed drivers for the laptop, and then after all were installed, I installed windows updates. Then I left it sit over night. Then today, I came and saw that the computer went into sleep mode, which I found odd; so I turned it on and then it would sit at a blank screen. So I went out to breakfast thinking maybe its just doing registry update. When I came back this wasn't the case. So I turned off the computer by holding the power button. Turned it back on, and it took 30 minutes to get to the Windows starting... screen, then came back to the blank screen for hours. Now, I got Windows to load, I signed into the admin account, the mouse is showing, but the screen is still blank. I ran Dell Diagnostic, and it said that the hard disk was fine, which I thought would have been the issue. I restarted the computer about 2 times trying to install the first driver for the wifi, and it only took about 4 minutes. It seems after I installed windows updates, the whole computer just started to become unresponsive to windows. If you could help me it would be greatly appreciated.
BIOS passwords on inspiron models and older i can help obtain a new bios password provided you give me the random number generated located on white screen right after POST
