I have a Precision M6800 that came with non backlighted keyboard. I would like to replace it with a keyboard that is backlighted. Can it be done? The existing keyboard has only three screws needed to remove. What would be the D/PN for such a keyboard.

Dell Inspiron 15 Locked setup
Tried to install an ssd, but it wont let me do that because the "Setup is locked" and i need a password to unlock it. I have looked on the internet and on other topics it said to call Dell so they can give me the password but the problem is that the dell helpdesk in my country is only opened from 9-5 and i cant call them because im at work, is there any other way to get this password?

should I do a windows 10 clean install with 64 bit OS?
Recently I did a clean install of a windows 10 using the media creation tool (I upgraded to10 prior to the clean install and used my product key). I noticed that it installed a 32 bit OS of windows 10. I believe my laptop has a 64 based processor and I'm wondering if I should have installed a 64 bit windows operating system instead of the 32 bit. I also wanted to upgrade my RAM memory, which now 6GB (2.40 GB usable). I have two sticks of RAM, one with 4GB and one with 2GB.
My questions are:
Should I do another clean install with a 64 bit OS of 10?
Is my laptop capable of doing this?
What is the maximum amount of ram this laptop can hold?

I have a Dell Precision M6500 Keyboard Backlight shutoff permanently by Windows after using lower power AC, can't restore it, help! I plugged in a 130watt ac from another unit cause battery was getting low, got this message saying it was the wrong AC, would charge, but system would operate in a depreciated manner. Nothing has changed BUT my keyboard back light is disabled as if broke. I can't find any settings anywhere to re-enable it. I have tried windows power manager, dell control point utilities and of course the keyboard controls and reseting this in bios, no joy! Unit operates as always, FAST but no back light. Operating systems and bios thinks it is on but it's not. Windows 7 Pro 64bit

XPS 12 9Q33 Long list of issues
Hello all,
My Dell XPS 12 9Q33 has had its fair share of major problem, lcd panel had to be replaced 4 times in a week because of ghosting issues. But there have always been many small issues that have plagued my laptop, so these issues are not all new, some of them have been reported to dell support a long time ago. There have been many formats in the past 2 years, and some issues have always been here. I will list them here hopefully somebody has a solution for on or more. And I have looked on the forum, and other forums and have not found anything useful.
FYI, here is what is not stock:
Windows 10 Pro
1TB Samsung 850 mSATA SSD
Long time issues:
1- Audio is distorted. Especially obvious when a notification sound comes up. Listening to music is not enjoyable, it seems as listening to videos is still tolerable. Distortion is not present during pre-boot diag...I also tried newer and older drivers with same result.
2- Audio glitches are random. Once in a while, I'd be listening to music, or watching a video, and this weird high pitched glitch would just burry the audio, it last maybe 2-3 seconds, then is gone for some time.
3- Laptop hangs on shutdown/reboot. It hangs just before powering off completely or before starting boot procedure. It hangs because i see the light on the powerswitch stay on for maybe 45 seconds to a minute and when it turns off, the laptop shuts down or reboots. This happens most of the time, but not always.
Since Windows 10
4- Laptop hangs when on battery power and is connected to power. If i'm using the laptop, and I plug power adapter in, the screen just stays at the image that was there when i plug power. I know the laptop responds because if i click random buttons, i hear sounds, if i were watching a video, the image freezes but sound continues, if i click spacebar, the audio pauses, just like it should, but the image is always static. There is a quick fix, i close the laptop lid and open it back up, and the laptop is back to normal

Dell Complete Cover Warranty - Query
HI,
I have an Inspiron 7537 with Dell CompleteCover Warranty.
Now I want to change the HDD with a SSD.
The HDD is stock drive from dell, I want to purchase a SSD from outside and install it.
I just have a talk with Dell India Support, they are saying if I change the drive to another drive, it will void the complete cover from dell.
Is it true? It's ridiculous. I know if I change the drive I'll not get dell warranty on the drive, but I should get dell warranty on the remaining parts. Right?

yes, inspiron 3543 screen brightness not so increase when using the battery mode but normally range while it is plugged in AC, screen brightness as seems decreased by half when I start the computer battery mode firstly and cannot be increased later, thats so strange because there have no problem if initializes as plugged in first. I've tried all the power options in the PC bu doesnt affect. I cant see if another program that control these settings on the PC but there maybe? I dont know?

Will installing SSD void my Dell Inspiron 3542 warranty?
Hi,
If I replace my existing HDD with new SSD, would this void my warranty? I have 1 + 2 years extended warranty.
I know if i damage anything like sata port or any other hardware while installing SSD, this wont be covered under warranty.
But what if I replace the SSD and next year the touch screen, motherboard or some other hardware goes bad and I call Dell for repair. They will see I have changed the drive. Would Dell troubleshoot my laptop? Will it be covered under warranty??

Dell Inspiron 15R SE 7520 BIOS problem

I had problem with charging my laptop so i gave it to my local repair guy, god knows why he decided to change the BIOS and didnt do any spare copy...now im stuck with BIOS for Inspiron 5520, my graphic drivers are failing to install. Here is my question, is there any possibility to get full BIOS for 7520 from DELL (warranty expired) or any other way to fix this?

Installing Fast Access Facial Recognition
After upgrade to Win 10 the FA recognition s/w that came bundled with my Inspiron notebook has been removed. How can i recover it?
BTW there is a 2nd problem: when i go to My Dell and Software Download there is some defect to access the download page. When i click on the last step the Register button absolutely nothing happens (see below). There no redirect to download page, there is no confirmation message - just nothing happens and i tried different browsers and same results.
Can anyone help how to download the app without paying for it from the vendor?

Screen freezing or going blank in my new Inspiron 5559
Hi,
My new Inspiron 5559 suddenly freezes and I can do nothing. I have to power down and get it back again. In between the screen blanks too.
Early on I got a message of some display driver problem though it did not appear again.

Galaxy S6 repeatedly disconnecting on XPS 15 running Windows 8.1
I am having this issue on every USB port and only with my Galaxy S6 (which works fine on other machines running Windows 8.1).
When I connect the device it repeatedly connects and disconnects (a few times every second). I have installed and re-installed all the latest drivers, I have tried installing Sansung's Kies software. I have tried connecting a Note 3 also, which doesn't connect at all.
No idea where to go from here; any pointers welcome.

Migrating to SSD
I have a new laptop and have just bought an M2 SATA SSD. I would like to do a factory reset to the SSD, how would I go about doing this?
I have created system recovery USB, but it restores the image back to the HDD. I have even unplugged the HDD, but it says the system recovery files are unavailable.

Screen upside down in tent mode
I have a dell 2 in 1 7359 and when I try tent mode, the screen is upside down and doesn't switch to the right orientation. Is there a setting for this? How do I get it to switch so I can use it?

Latitude E6320 Bios password
