dell active pen compatibility with dell inspiron 15 7558
SO GENIUS', EXPLAIN THIS.
I own a Dell Inspiron 7558 se 15.6 inch 2 in 1 convertible and despite what this image from your website says the dell active pen does not work with this or any inspirons. Nor does the active stylus 750-AAGN that I just received in the mail. I want drivers and an explaination at the very least. I have now spent over 65 dollars on two of your products that say they are compatible one place on your website and are not compatible here in the real world where I'm trying to use them. Get your shirt together and reconcile this immediately.

loss of dell drivers for Inspiron 7110
my inspiron is out of warranty and cannot get software to replace the missing drivers for wifi and usb.
I recently went back to win 7 from win 10 and found my dell divers deleted. The system will re-boot fine but I have no access to wifi and usb support. I need those drivers to update my system.
Can anyone help me with solution or provides needed drivers. thank you

Very hot E6420
Good day, the problem is that my laptop is strongly heated. It is 4 years old, I cleaned the cooler, changed the thermal grease and thermal pads for this time.
My e6420: i7-2720QM, 8G RAM, NV NVS 4200M, SSD 128G, HGG HGST 1T, Intel Advanced-N 6205, 3G F3507g, Gentoo Linux, pf-sources, KDE 5.
I noticed that the cooler is not switched off .. and spin at maximum speed all the time. I thought that it was bad cleaned system at this time, I cleaned again, but the problem remained.

Upgrading to SSD for Inspiron 15 3521
I recently updated my Inspiron 15 3521 to windows 10 and decide to upgrade the harddrive to SSD. I created a recovery disk drive on a USB with windows 10 before switching to a 64GB SSD drive. When I try to do a "recover from a drive", it gave me an error message that said "Unable to recover your PC. The system drive is too small." I tried it again with a 250GB SSD with the same error. Do I have to use a 512MB SSD? Is there a way I can do this on the 250GB SSD?

Seagate ST500LM000/ST1000LM014 Firmware Update for Inspiron 7746 - What has it done?
Hi Guys
So i've performed my usual ritual of updating all drivers and firmware for my Dell Inspiron 7746 today and one of the updates has totally baffled me.
Basically i downloaded and ran the above update and it was called Kahuna_ZE.exe. Once i ran that it unzipped an .exe for a Seagate HD firmware update. I ran that and followed the onscreen instructions. This led to my laptop rebooting and a rEFind menu coming up. This then loaded a screen with loads of writing on. At the top is said BootingOS but it didn't do anything.
I had to power down my laptop and when the menu came up i quickly used the arrow keys to choose another boot option which thankfully has got me back onto Windows.
So what i want to ask is what the *** has this dell download done in terms of updating? How do i know if it's successful and is my laptop safe to use? (trojan ware etc)
I'm a little paranoid if i don't know what an update has donw but i'm assuming i may not be the only one thats come across this.
Please note, i updated to Windows 10 using the media tool and all Dell partitions, software was deleted in the process.

Seagate ST500LM000/ST1000LM014 Firmware Update for 7746
I downloaded the above update for my Inspiron 7746 and i've no idea what it's done.
It rebooted my laptop and took me to a rEFind screen which then froze and did nothing. I managed to get back onto windows by powering off my laptop and quickly navigating to another boot option.
I downloaded it as i ensure my laptop is always up to date with the latest firmware and drivers.
What does it do? Should i be concerned it froze when i first did the update?
I get a bit paranoid if i dont know what an update has done.

Shutdown Issue
Usually I shut down my computer and turned off the power from wall socket (with a full charged battery) after finishing my works. Then it suppose to be off (not working or not in sleep mode). However, in the next day it indicates an orange colour on Battery indicator and also it is hard to turn it on. It means, even though I shutdown my laptop and turn off the power previously, it does not properly turn off. Can you please help me on this problem?

Dell e6400 Maximum Memory FSB
Hi, I have dell latitude E6400 Notebook. It had 2GB single ram installed, I installed new 1GB ram in addition to that 2GB. Thereafter screen started to freeze (some letters broken) in some places.
Also I observed that when I installed the same capacity pairs (1GB +1GB or 2GB + 2GB) it works properly.
Note. I used PC2-6400 (800 MHz) RAMs for the all combinations made to do the above tests but BIOS shows only 667 MHz instead of 800Mhz. Dell says Latitude supports Memory FSB 800 MHz.
My OS is Win7 (32x).
Please help me to overcome this issue…..

New XPS 13 (9350) suffered from coil whine
Hi,
I've received my new XPS 13 on 15h January, and there's a major Coil Whine problem with it, there's a high pitch noise coming out under the top left area of the keyboard, the sound is just like a dead HDD running.
It's most noticeable when the the notebook is charging, but still you can hear that high pitch sound in bedroom no matter if you have plugged in the power cord.
Does anyone has encountered this issue? With their new XPS 13? Very annoying sound and now I need to wear a headphone to play music in order to filter out that sound.

Vostro 3550 Wireless Network Issue
My Laptop is not able to connect to wireless network even I have installed the network drives properly.Even when I am trying to connect the Laptop via LAN cable, Same problem arise.

Inspiron 3542 touch pad problem after win 7 to win 10 update
Hi,
I have a Dell Inspiron 15 3542.
Firstly I installed Windows 7 (x32), with all drivers from Dell support and everything worked normally, the touch pad worked normally, and I hadn't any problem in Device Manager.
Now, after Windows 10 update the touch pad is not working and I have 3 entries in Device Manager "Other Devices", and I can't get the correct drivers from Dell Support. In the "Mice and other pointing devices" now I see only HID-compliant mouse (I'm working with an external mouse).
Please help me.

Laptop Crashes with BSOD when on battery
Hi everyone.
I'm using Dell Inspiron 7720 (17R Special/Turbo Edition 3D model)
It's been about 3 years and I've had Windows 7 when i purchased this. I've upgraded to and used Windows 8, 8.1, and now Windows 10. It's all good.
Though the Intel RapidStart and RapidStorage have some problems but that's the issue with Windows 10 I guess so can't complain there.
I update all the drivers and apps regularly along with Windows Update.
Recently, after I updated NVidia drivers, a new issue has risen. A couple issues actually.
1. Selected games run way too slow.
Applications such as Google Earth or SpaceEngine run fine and smooth. And mind you I've downloaded all the 128K texture and depth maps for all planets so it's pretty hard application on hardware. Luckily my 128-bit GDDR5 Graphics card handles it well. (They don't give those in non-alienware models anymore). Tomb Raider (2013 reboot edition) runs fine and smooth even at 1080p at high settings (without AA and AF though) even in stereoscopic 3D.
The problem is with some other games. Such as NFS MostWanted (the 2014 reboot), or FarCry 4. Even at lowest settings possible, the frame rate drops down to 10-20 fps. It's not stuttering-smooth-stuttering which happens sometime with other laptops. It simply runs slow. I tried changing power settings in NVidia control panel, tried overclocking with EVGA precision, even dissected open my laptop and cleaned everything from dusty RAM chips to heatsink and fan. I even use a big aluminum cooler from CoolerMaster thinking it might be overheating, but the GPU temperatures hardly go above 75 degree Celsius.
Then there's Wings of War. A game that came out in 2004 i think. And an old computer on 128MB of RAM with Pentium-4 could run it well. And yet, it gets slow on my laptop, again down to 10-20fps.
If there's one thing consistent about these "slow games", its that they run fine for first minute or two, and then get slow and remain slow till i restart them.
2. I cannot run my laptop on battery for too long.
It's not because the battery drains out. I mean, sure a 6-cell lithium-ion battery only gives about 50 minutes on a laptop with this big hardware and always-on non-optimus GPU, but the issue is entirely different.
About 5-10 minutes after i unplug the charger, the laptop crashes with this message on BSOD:

If you'd like to know more, you can search online later for this error:
SYSTEM_THREAD_EXCEPTION_NOT_HANDLED (nvlddmkm.sys)"
So obviously i searched online. Solutions included everything from reinstalling GPU drivers (with and without clean install) to reinstalling Windows 10, or even extracting this nvlddmkm.sys file from NVidia GPU driver setup and copying it to Windows System32 and SYSWOW folders. Or there was the option to downgrade the drivers back to older version.
I've tried all those and yet the issue persists, even on older drivers.
So please, help me out.
Note: Please don't ask me to format my hard drive again and go back to Windows 7/8 or reinstall any OS at all. It takes so much and time and I had to reinstall all drivers and updates over and over again.

Unable to connect Dell N5010 to LAN Internet
Model:- N5010 laptop
I am unable to connect internet through LAN.wifi is working well.
1) There is no Local Area Connection in Network Adapters.
2) in device manager => Network Adapter => no eathernet showing

Dell Inspiron N4050 stuck on Dell logo screen
Hi,
My laptop is using Windows 7. The laptop suddenly get stuck on Dell logo screen when I powered it on.
I have tried the unplugged the adapter, all external devices and press the power button for few seconds
before plugging in the adapter again and power on the laptop method many times.
Also, nothing happens when I pressed the f2/f12 keys and fn+power button method.
By the way, my laptop is running on the power supply from the adapter directly without using the battery for nearly a year now. The battery was damaged. Are there other solutions to make it start as usual and not losing my data?
