Problem: laptop won't start, black screen, everything else is running.

LCD Bist test (d+power) works just fine. Then again black screen.

I connected external LCD (pressed fn+f8 on start up) and was able to see the windows logo then blue screen announced that video driver crashed.

System test (fn+power) Gives Monitor problem Msg: Error code 2000-0321. Msg: Unable to detect LCD. Finally I was able to start windows after I uninstalled ati video drivers. The red vertical lines appeared.

Tried installing multiple times different video drivers with the same result: blue screen- video driver failed.

Once windows starts normally on the laptop screen with standart video drivers. After restarting the system I have to use external lcd again.

I will appreciate any advise or suggestion. Thx

Hi there.

I'm going to buy Latitude e7450 with model number 8327 and I cannot find any information what kind of battery it is occupied with (3 cell or 4 cell). Does model number say something about it?

It only show logo DELL but its not loading then after few mins the laptop changed to another thing that is

Got this warning every bootup: "The driver \Driver\WUDFRd failed to load for the device ACPI\INT3400\2&daba3ff&0."

What device is this? how to install the driver?

I'd like to see if there is a change I can make to my setting for this tablet. This problem started two days ago that I am no longer able to use my finger to make a selection on the touchscreen only the pen works (calibrating settings are unresponsive to finger touch either).

Hey!

Quick question. I need 4gb of RAM to reach the gap on my 15R Inspiron.

Does DELL even sell anything like this? Laptop is almost 5 years old and the only similar ram i found was 50 bucks (in dell.com). I live in Norway so if you add shipping to it, the price just blows up.

The current RAM is 4gb 204 pin 1.5V 1333MHz DDR3.

Hello everyone,

I just bought the new xps13 and it seems that I cannot achieve satisfactory speeds when transferring data from the internal SSD towards a USB3 flash disk. It reaches a maximun of 10-15 MB/s. Am I missing something here?

I did run the diagnostic tests and it says that this device could work better when connected to a usb3 port. Any ideas?

Hi all :)

Yesterday I bought a Dell Inspiron 13-7352 (i7-5500, 8Gb, 1Tb, Win 8.1) and immediately replaced the HDD with a 240Gb SSD and clean-installed Windows 10.

I absolutely LOVE this computer but I have one concern - the battery life.  Is it possible to purchase a better DELL battery and upgrade this?

Hi,

I have got 3 vertical lines on screen of my Inspiron 5521, I also have Inspiron N5010 which has fried motherboard, but its screen was working last time I tested. Can I use screen of N5010 for replacing screen of Inspiron 5521?

School has just started and i need to take notes. it is much easier to take note on the pdf file of the lectures than on a separate notebook or paper. but it's hard to write with a finger. I got a tablet pen. the tip is not as pointy as the Apple pen. it's soft rounded rubber or silicon tip. it works well on all the tablets i have. But it doesnt really work on the XPS. i can sometimes select by tapping with the pen, but i cant draw or write with it. Anyone knows any pen that works on the XPS 13?

I had my XPS 13 replaced under warranty but the new one's charger does not have the swivel a/c part that plugs into the power brick and then the wall that my old one has.  How do I go about getting this part?  (See picture)  Where can I get this piece?  Can I request it since my replacement system did not have it and the original did?  I have the brick part, just not the swivel/plug part.  They gave me a normal cord to plug into the brick/wall

Hi,

I have the Dell XPS 9550 (2015) - 1TB SSD Version, and ive noticed the boot up and shut down times are slow.

I have two other Ultrabooks. A Samsung one and a Lenovo one. Both are SSD, but both are around £700.

Considering this is a £2000 laptop, i wonder why it takes so long to boot-up and shutdown?

The other 2 Ultrabooks are 3x faster at both. Its a little annoying!!

Any ideas?

Hi there,

Recently I had to upgrade my HDD, I reinstalled Win7 via system disc, but my WiFi is no longer functioning.

Initially nothing was responding or registering the card. After downloading a driver for Dell Wireless 5550 DMBM Application I now have access to the Dell Mobile Broadband Manager which states the mobile broadband device is not communicating.

I ran the Dell online diagnostics and they all came back clean as did the dell PSA diagnostic. Troubleshooting couldn't find the wireless stuff.

I have LAN and I have Bluetooth, only the wifi is not cooperating.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Hey guys, I have quite an issue on my hands here. My dell laptop xps 15 l502x has been acting up.

Here's what it is doing: Randomly for no apparent reason the entire system will just straight up freeze, and when I say freeze, I mean like downright everything stops working cannot move cursor, anything I was doing just freezes, and the only way to get out of it is to hold down the power button. I've tried literally everything this fix this but it doesn't ever get resolved.

Here are some things I've tried:

-Clean booted back to factory settings with dell disk many many times!

-Did the sfc/ scannow + chkdisk in command prompts as admin

-Updated all drivers/bios ect.. from dell website

-Checked fan tempretures and such, blew dust with compressed air, cleaned laptop

-tried system restores, which clearly did not work.

-Ran Memtest with no memory issues

After many many many failed attempts, I decided, hey you know what it must be an internal problem, so I sent it in to Staples and they ended up having to give me my money back because they could not figure out what the problem was, and told me that the internal hardware of my computer was perfectly fine.

If anyone can help me sort this out, that'd be really great because I have a feeling if I send this computer back to dell they will not fix the problem or it will come back with issues after the warranty runs out.

I have about a dozen or so of these machines in my workplace, about 10 of them have something plugged into USB ports whether they be External Hard drives or external vga cards. On every single one of these machines the 3.0 ports DO NOT WORK, they are constantly losing connection with whatever is plugged into them and the only way to get them working again is to unplug them and plug them back in. The 2.0 ports work absolutely fine no problems at all but the 3.0 ports are wildly inconsistent to the point they are unusable. Is there a patch or setting that I am missing

hi all,

I have an issue with the backlight keyboard. I can change the timeout and decide to turnoff the backlight after 5 seconds (for example), but after any restart It lose the choice made and the backlight always turned to default setting "always turned on" ...

it does not retain the choice made

I have the last drivers and apps available ... I suppose that there is a bug in the version available for my laptop: (quickset) Application_XXJDH_WN32_11.1.32_A00.EXE

any advice?

So, as most 9550 owners, who watch this forums probably know, the recent BIOS update 1.1.15 is supposed to fix CPU Speed cap after pulling the AC cable. People in another thread stated, that their processors now run at full turbo on battery. 

However my CPU still runs at 1.69GHz max on battery after the BIOS update, while the base clock of the 6700HQ should be 2.6GHz. Plugging in the AC cable now instantly goes back to full turbo, which is fine.

What makes this worse, is that the CPU clock under battery and load climbs painfully slowly towards the 1.69GHz mark, starting at 0.6GHz and taking 20 Seconds to reach 1.69GHz. This still only happens, when pulling the AC cable while the system is running. When im booting freshly on battery it jumps instantly to 1.69GHz under load.

My config is: UHD Disply, 6700HQ, 512GB SSD (PM951), 16GB RAM, BIOS Version: 1.1.15

Is anyone else still having these issues after BIOS 1.1.15?

Sorry for my bad english but i'll try to tell my situation in here.

I have on Inspiron 15R SE 7520.

On this morning i tried to turn on the computer and the screen goes black and soon my notebook shuts itself off, i tried a couple times more and one of my tries i could heard 4 beeps repeatedly.

I tried to start my computer like 20 times and i only got those 4 beeps 2 times...all the other occasions the computer just shut itself off after a fews seconds of black screen.

What it could be?
