Hi,
I'm reinstalling my dell vostro 3500 notebook (2010) because it was really slow and refused to start many programs. I received CD's with the device when I bought it, so I installed windows 7 with it and now I'm trying to install the drivers, using the "How to manually reinstall Windows 7 on a Dell computer?" article to make sure I do it in the right order. I have some problems and questions on which I can't find the answers.

The first problem I had was trying to find the Dell System Software. The article states it's really important, but it's not on the CD. I read somewhere that not all Dell notebooks need it, so I assumed my didn't and I moved on to the next. I hope this is correct?

When reading the rest of the list, I noticed that many things are not on my CD or that the names differ and I can only guess if I'm actually installing the driver I have to at a certain point. It's a general Windows 7 article of course, so I went to the Product Support page for my laptop (entered service tag) to see which drivers I need. But this list is awfully short! It only contains 7 files. Nothing for audio, video, touchpad...

Turning back to the CD, it shows a whole list of drivers (which differ from the windows 7 article) and less than half of them show a checkmark in front of them. After trying a few, I noticed that only the one with the checkmarks can be installed on my lapto. Although I'm specifically showing the list for Vostro 3500 with Windows 7 32-bit. Again, this makes no sense at all?!

Conclusion: I have NO idea which drivers I need, where to find this complete list and in what order to install them. Now I only have a windows 7 laptop with no wifi-possibilities, hardly any HD space and the worst resolution ever, together with some CD's which seem to be utterly useless.

Can someone please help me?

Don't know if anyone else has had this problem with their inspiron 3543 but everytime I install the driver "Intel Rapid Storage Technology" after restarting my optical disk opens on it's own every minute. So after uninstalling it goes back to normal.

I am running a 7737 with Intel(R) HD Graphics card

I play World of Warcraft and all the time the CPU and Motherboard temp goes up to approx 67(C) and the laptop shell gets hot, top left hand corner to the right of the Power Switch.  The game will then lock the whole computer up, I have to do a hard re-boot.  The normal idel temp is approx 40(c)

I am using Speccy to get the temp readings.

I was wondering what the normal temp should be for this model and also, if I have a fan/heat sink issue ? 

Any help would be much appreciated.

Hi Guys.

This has got me a bit stumped, have been trying to get the Bluetooth working on this machine for a couple of days now. E5520 i3 2.2 6gb ram 250gb hdd

The problem is this, the machine will pair a Bluetooth device, takes quite a long time, the pair codes appear on both devices an all seems well, that is until you try to send any type of file over Bluetooth.Either from the pc to say an Android phone or visa versa nothing happens it just says it cannot connect and the send fails.

Have now tried various Bluetooth drivers and at least 3 or 4 Toshiba Bluetooth stacks and even Bluesoliel Most of which will not install because they cannot see the hardware and just asks you to "plug in the Bluetooth device" when it comes to installing the driver. Have managed to get one Toshiba stack to install (9.10.11), but when you open up the program it asks you to turn on the device, it just will not turn on.

Have the latest Dell 375 driver in at present, again everything is fine on the control panel and devices will pair but it just will not send anything over the connection.

Any ideas, I am almost starting to think this is a hardware problem.

hello there just wondering as i have a dell latitude e6420 i7 2.8ghz.i noticed that it runs hot for my liking and well it has only one copper pipe heatsink.i saw that u can get a twin copper pipe heatsink for these.i was wondering if i bought one of these can i be able to put this into my dell and upgrade the heatsink and hopefully keep my laptop cooler.if these double pipe heatsink dont work i was wondering why as they look the same.love to get  abit of info back as i goggled  a bit and did not see any answers

I am using Inspiron 15 5558 model. Already installed windows 10.

I am try make restore media. but failed message.

So , I am installed Backup and restore program. This is not supported.

Can I request restore dvd?

I don't know did anybody notice this, but since A09 bios battery life seems shorter, CPU temps are higher, so fan works even when laptop is idle. I'm sure it's not dirt or thermal paste problem, couse problem arrised after updating BIOS. I have Inspiron 3542 with I5 4210U CPU. Also, could you implement option to turn off discrete GPU into next version of BIOS? Thanks in advance.

So I've been having this problem for a little over a month where when i plug in my AC adapter it says "plugged in, not charging", and gives me an error message. I've tried a number of things including: getting a new charger, getting a new battery, and uninstalling and reinstalling the battery. I've looked at several YouTube videos and forums and haven't found much help. What can i do at this point? Has this happened to anyone else before? My laptop is a little over 2 years old.

My Inspiron 15R SE 7520 works perfect with an extended monitor, dell u2414h on window 7. However after upgraded to window 10 recently, the extended monitor (lower part) starts to flicker sometimes. It generally happens from a system wake up. I cannot get rid of the flickering, until restart the machine. I have already used dell support to automatically update all my drivers. However, the issue is still there. I wonder if any one could help.

Problem 1:Do have a S2240L. Been using with a cheap HDMI cable for  few months. Stayed ok. Now while I bought another HDMI cable with pretty standard quality, the monitor is showing-' Entering Power Saving Mode' as soon as I give that power. I checked all the connection. Seemed fine. I used to get 5 mins before it went power saving mode but now I'm completely clueless. What's the deal

Problem 2: Sometimes, when I reboot the machine, the CPU gets powered on but the display remain blank. nothing happens. It's happening frequently. So, I turn the main power off from the switch board. I AM REALLY SCARED BECAUSE IT MAY HAMPER MY WHOLE SYSTEM. 

Please help me out ASAP.

I have Inspiron 1410,off late I downloaded windows 10 on line FOR LATEST UPGRADES .from the net. Problems observed after complete downloads are a) all the USB ports are not detecting devices pen drives /mobiles.b) earlier Bluetooth icon got vanished.I vave windows10 updated for updates. could someone guide to restore my system with BLUETOOTH & USB CONNECTIVITY.

I have a new SSD for my Precision 7510 workstation.  I need to install windows 7 on it from the DVD provided by Dell.  The DVD has no Drivers and consequently when I try and install, I get a message about "The installation media does not contain any drivers" and the installation will not allow me to continue.  Bear in mind that my new SSD has no recovery partition or in fact any partition.  I have a Cab file of drivers and I have also unpacked this onto a USB stick, but this does not appear as a drive when I 'browse'.  Neither does the new SSD - it has no partitions...

Do I need to format the SSD first?

Could anyone tell me where I can get the drivers and what form they need to be in?  That is, do I need to burn them onto a DVD and what would the directory structure look like?  Do I need to download all the drivers separately - there are a number of exes on the support site, or can I use the CAB file from Dell Enterprise site? 

I have been trying various things now for a number of days and I am losing my grip on reality :)

Hi all,

My XPS 15 (9530) got issue when plugged : it won't start. It boot up only when disconnect from AC, and then I can plug it to charge.

When it's off and AC plugged, the 5 lights on the left side (remaining battery) does not light up.

Morever, if I close the computer (plugged) in order switch to sleep mode, it won't turn to sleep mode, and when I re-open it, nothing happens. I have to unplugged the AC, then reboot everyting.

I don't know if it's software or hardware issue. All my system is up to date (Windows 10), with drivers from Dell. BIOS A09.

Have you ever get this annoying thing ?

I upgraded my i7 laptop (purchased in 2012) to the A14 BIOS from the original A7 BIOS. Now, external keyboards do not work (I've tried wireless and corded) and have tried uninstalling and re-installing keyboard drivers. (And, I verified that the keyboards are working with another computer). I also ran the Boot Diagnostics at startup and no problems were found. I upgraded the BIOS because the laptop battery was no longer charging (it always read "plugged in, not charging"). And, the A14 BIOS did fix that problem and my battery is now charged. Any suggestions are appreciated. Thanks. BTW, I'm running Windows 7

Hey guys,

My fully loaded 9550 XPS 15 flashes a black screen for about 1 second (like the video driver has crashed) every several minutes.  It happens randomly without any obvious inciting event, although sometimes when I bring up the Windows 10 search bar it happens.  It just happened while I was typing this write up.  

I am trying to figure out if it is an easy software repair or if I should return this laptop?

I've been struggling with Command | Update repeatedly asking me to download and install Intel Management Engine Component Installer Driver v. 11.0.0.1153. Even though I've installed it both manually and via Command | Update several times, it keep appearing as suggested update.

However, when I scanned my actual drivers versions, it turned our that Intel ME I have installed is 11.0.0.1146, even though the installation files available from Dell's website and via Command | Update say the supposed version is 11.0.0.1153.

It explains why Command | Update keeps asking me to update this driver on and on. @Dell support - can you please correct this error?

when i and install dell  15 R inspiron 5537 Serial ATA driver Version 12.8.2.1000, A01 it won't install,
it keeps giving me and error , The error says there  is a pending reboot for this product.
i will restart the computer and it still won't work any one no what to do. the OS is windows 10 64-BIT.

I have a dell 15r inspiron 5537 windows 10 64 bit OS  and i have a intel hd 4400 graphics card, i7-4500u processor 4th generation.
well have driver 10.18.15.4278 installed. well i use the driver 15.40.10.64.4300 installed but i had restarted my computer to and earlier
restore point and we doing so i had the driver 10.18.15.4278 installed so i went to reinstall the driver 15.40.10.64.4300
I had install before. well no it won't let me install it i keep getting the error message the driver being installed  is not validated
for this computer.please obtain the the appropiate  driver from the computers manufacturer. setup will exit. I have installed the driver
the past and it work. what could be the problem can anyone help. i also keep getting and notifaction all the time in the that pops up in the
bottom right corner saying the display driver has stopped responding and has recovered. Also theres is also blinking on the page. For example
when using notepad top of the windows were the word of my the title of my notes are,above weresays file,edit,format,view and help are.
When that blinks thats when it won't put the word down that i typed.

(Keyboard Problems)
dell 15r inspiron 5537 keyboard problems when pressing the keys it wont show what i type.
i half to hit the buttons more then once sometimes hard and sometimes soft.
the touchscreen keyboard is having the same problems. so it's doesn't seem to broken keys.
can anybody help.windows 10 64 bit OS.
