Hello,

I just bought a new XPS 13 9350 and I've been experiencing multiple graphical glitches while using it.

It happened to me while doing two different tasks, but I don't know if  the two problems are related.

- When I try to use LibreOffice 5, the window turns almost entirely black and only displays the icons where my mouse is pointing for a few seconds, which completely prevents me from using it.

- When playing a game called The Binding of Isaac on steam, I get a graphical glitch at certain times and the screen displays multicolored pixels all over the screen for a few seconds (this only happens every time an enemy in the game stomps the ground really hard, for some reason) .

Hello guys!

I bought a Dell Laptop thinking that it was running Windows 10, but the Laptop came and it has a Linux Ubuntu (My printer, Smarthphone and programs are compatible only with Windows 10 OS and peaple of my family doesn't know how to turn on a Linux OS). Yes, I'm so stupid. But I have a very important question: Can my BIOS handle, working perfectly, Windows 10? I want it because I liked the laptop hardware.(Laptop important informations below).

I think that I have a chance to install Windows 10 and it works perfectly. Why? Because the previous Model of my (Inspiron 14 3442-C10) has the same: Chassis, drivers and monitor. But runs Windows 10. I think the BIOS of the two models of Laptops are the same Version. But I won't try to put Windows 10 on it because I'm not sure and I still have conditions to negotiate. I will do it if someone profissional say that it's compatible. So, please, someone help me! I'm desperate [:'(]

I recently purchased a Dell Precision M4600 from the Dell refurbished site. It was an amazing deal for a core i7-2720qm + FirePro M5950. It has been flawless, and has been blisteringly fast for about 6 months now. I was using it tonight, just to browse the web, and suddenly the video went wonky. The screen froze, and became a faded/hazy version of the screen at the time of the freeze... eventually going black. I have had this same kind of "frozen screen" happen when a desktop video card was overheating or failing. The only difference being that windows, aside from having no video, was still functioning. It even went into and came out of sleep mode with a blank screen. I checked GPU temps with CPUid HWmonitor while the laptop was working, and it wasn't overheating. 

After power cycling, the next few times it actually booted to windows, and I was able to use it anywhere from a few minutes, to a few seconds. Eventually it would hang again. At first I was thinking "driver issue", but then the screen froze @ the BIOS.

I tried everything from removing/reinserting every accessory accessible by removing the back cover (2 screws), to removing the hard drive, memory sticks one at a time, etc...with no difference. At this point, the screen almost always stays black, yet windows will boot normally in the background.

The other weird thing is that, even with secondary hard drive removed (primary is mSATA), and fans not running, I can hear an electrical/static noise coming from inside the laptop. sometimes a louder squeal, other times just a slight background noise or hiss. I wonder if this could be the video adapter shorting out?

So, with my long story told, does this seem like an issue with the video adapter? I have not tried plugging a monitor into the laptop yet. I guess that will tell me for sure.

Would the Quadro 1000 series be a drop-in part? Will the BIOS see it, and enable the "optimus" options, or is an update required? Is the fan assembly the same? How about the AMD M4000, which seems to be more reasonably priced?

I am so disappointed that i purchased the docking station to set up with my 2n1 inspiron 3135 and my fiance's inspiron 3137 and the internet only works on wifi and not through the dock as posted.  i only wanted  docking station since the wifi signal is weak in the basement office, and i have CAT5 ran directly to the office.  I spoke with Dell and never received help on the docking station drivers since my pcs are out of warranties that i am connecting too.  Did i mention, i even purchased two monitors for the docking station through Dell at the same time.  I am returning everything since the methodology i was sold by their customer care reps was completely false.  This does not support USB ethernet on the 3135 or 3137 since there are no drivers provided for it on the display link and dell website. IF anyone has the drivers for Windows 10 OS please share.

I've attempted to search the forum but could not find an answer.  I recently had my XPS 11 exchanged, under warranty, for an XPS 13...however, I'm uncertain as to whether or not the warranty extends to the replacement system.  While the site recognizes the replacement (refurbish) system's Service Tag, no information is displayed regarding warranty status.  Any insight will be appreciated.

I have Dell inspiron 15R 5537 laptop (one year old), with windows 8.1 loaded on it. For a year it worked fine, but since Oct it started giving following problems:

1. When I close the lid, the laptop doesn't go in the sleep mode, and gets hung.I have to hard crash shutdown.

2. When I give the shutdown command from menu, the screen goes black after a while, but the system is still on and again the only option is to hard crash shutdown.

I upgraded it windows 10 lat week hoping the problem will go away. But it still persists. I changed the shutdown settings in Power options, ticked off the "Turn on fast startup". After that I could shutdown by the command and the sleep mode also worked for a day. But by the end of the day, I had to hard crash shutdown again to switch off. Pl guide me, what should I do.

Recently I downloaded Windows 10 on my Inspiron 3543 laptop, a week after from my upgrade, Windows had its first upgrade and started to having Blue screens (Stop errors) repeatedly.

After blue screens I called Microsoft Support and they said that I have wrong windows on my laptop, this windows is for Personal machines not Bussiness machines. Actually they activated wrong windows on this laptop.

I returned to Windows 8.1 and I want to change type of Windows. Can changing Product key solve that problem?

My Laptop DELL XPS 14Z L421X, the Keypad stopped working all of sudden. i still have the keypad backlight and Onscreen keypad works. But the physical Keypad is not working.

The mouse touchpad on the keypad also works but its only the KEYpad not working. rebooted the system, reset/refreshed the Windows OS on the laptop. But its still works.

Can anyone help me on this and let me know how to proceed?

I bought a refurshished Inspiron 3521 back in June 2014. I also bought a docking station, described on the packing slip as "Eport, 130W Simple Port Replicator". I only now got around to trying to use the docking station. I don't see how I can hook this laptop into this docking station (there doesn't appear to be anything on the bottom of the laptop that will snap into anything on a docking station). 

Questions (please forgive my ignorance):

(1) Is there another way to connect this laptop to this docking station? Like HDMI? 

(2) Can this laptop work with a docking station at all?

I have a fresh install of Windows 10. When I install the Intel Dynamic Platform and Thermal Framework driver the computer is suddenly ~30 % slower than was before. After some testing I found out that after removing the Intel Dynamic Platform and Thermal Framework Manager device from device manager the computer is fast again, but I am not happy about this solution as it leaves unrecognized device there.

I have tried reinstalling the system in both legacy bios and uefi mode, but nothing helps. Every time I install the DPTF driver, it gets slower and a little laggy. When I remove it, the computer is fast again. The bios is the newest version (A10).

I measure the performance decrease with WinRAR benchmark, which scores ~4000 points before installation and ~3000 after, but the slow down is very noticeable even without benchmark.

I have seen on other computers that the DPTF has it's settings in the Power Options dialog. That's not the case with my E5450 and Windows 10. I believe this might be the problem - that there might be some default configuration which slows down the computer so it is quieter and I am not able to change it.

Is there any way I can have the DPTF driver installed without crippling the performance?

Out of the blue, the left side of my keyboard just quits.  Normally, it's a line from the "G" left, but this time it's from the "D".  After being shutdown for a couple days it comes alive.

I'm using a new Inspiron 5555 with Win 10.

Any ideas?

Does anyone have an updated information about compatibility between single 16gb modules (like the Crucial CT204864BF160B) and the 7348 2-in-1 laptop? Mine has a 5th gen i7-5500U CPU and is already updated to the latest A08 BIOS released yesterday.

I recently bought the Dell XPS 13 9434 (i5, 256, FHD). I updated the system to Windows 10, although on the preinstalled windows 8 the same problem occurred. It randomly turned on and off until it drained the battery. I tried reinstalling the system from the disc (W8) and formatting the disc and now it "only" turns off after about being on for c.a 1min. Did anyone have a similar problem, or what may be the cause of that?

I have N5010 15R inspiron laptop. Salesperson said it has ATI radeon HD 5470 graphics card on it.

I am having issues with my display so i thought i will replace it on my own. Upon dissembling it completely I couldn't find any graphics card on it.

Is it a externally mounted graphics card or some sort of inbuild adapter on motherboard?

I am confused. Or was I duped by dell seller?

On device manager it says system has ATI display adapter but I am having hard time locating it on motherboard or inside laptop.

Can someone help me find it how it should look like in system?

Hi all. It's two months since I bought a new laptop . It worked fine, but after the last update of Windows 10 after opening the laptop wakes itself as it was before. Sometimes respond to the power button, but often does not respond to it. I have to hold down the power button and hold to perform a hard shutdown . Only then can the notebook start again. I tried to update all the drivers but it did not help me.

Detection of drivers it always offers the driver Intel Management Engine Interface Driver. I installed it manually and automatically several times but always reappears .

Does anyone know what to do?

Hey people, recently my laptop has stop working.. It doesn't start up anymore,  at a point in time it just went to the dell logo screen and took for ever to move pass it, it goes to something like diagnosing and automatic repair but that didn't help, so I browsed through a little to find out what I can do, and found out how to run a diagnostics test, and I did it and everything is fine but the hardware, First it said the hardware is not installed or must be reinstalled, and I get these error codes too. Error 2000:0142 then I got Error 0145, and Noe Error 0155, If anyone can help please do, I Really need my laptop back up running. Thank You
