Keys not working on Dell Inspiron 11 3000 laptop
ello:
There are problems with the backspace key, the g and the h keys
In case you are wonderin, I copied and pasted the keys from a webpage.
Notin as been spilled on te computer and all te oter keys work fine.
i tried te dell dianostic tool and even called Dell...
Any suggestions?

Dell Latitude E6410 button "Latitude ON"? --What does button do?
Small button next to the power on button. Exactly how does the button function? Not asking about "Latitude ON" itself, but the purpose of the button (Enable/Disable?).
I spent 45 minutes on phone with the little Indian snots because CHAT window function will not open without your "SERVICE TAG" or the "EXPRESS SERVICE CODE" on the bottom of the laptop (or any other Dell product). And you cannot get any customer service from a person on the phone without that either. So I gave them one of my many Dell service tags (from a Dell printer or a Dell monitor or a Dell Dimension desktop or a Dell Inspiron laptop or my 1998 Dell Latitude laptop). Of course, they refused to believe in that last service code--not enough digits.
Anyway, no one at Dell support would tell me anything about the button on an E6410 because I am not the owner and I don't have the service tag or express service code to give them. And after a long time on hold (as the little girl requested I do), my phone got cut off.
I guess tomorrow I will have to call Dell executive offices in Round Rock Texas and ask why there is no documentation on line or in user manual about that mystery button and what it does. Plenty of pages of "Latitude ON" purpose, but nothing about the button with the same symbol.

Plugged in not Charging.
Inspiron 3543 about 7 months old. Was working fine and suddenly, it won't charge. Original battery and charger. Battery tests come out fine. Already tried another 65w original charger from another dell pc and its not working. All drivers are up to date. Bios is on A07, did all the tricks and still nothing. I contacted Dell and they are doing a great job at ignoring me. They said I would get a reply within 1 business day and its been week (December 1) and no word from them. I bought the laptop from Amazon, I think the manufacturers warranty is the only valid warranty I have.
What should I do? I don't think I'll ever buy a Dell pc again. (Not my first problem with dell)

touchpad buttons not working
i have an N5110 and the buttons arent working. i need help i dont have a mouse so i cant do the drop down menus so i cant open a lot of files or send them to other places. i really need this fixed.

new latitude d510 charger wont charge
i got a new charger from amazon because as far as i know, my last one fried.
it's compatible for a latitude d510 because it's charged the laptop before.
but the bios setup says "unknown device installed"
and it won't charge.
btw my bios is revision ao4
someone please help me, because my frustration has peaked with it.

Backlight not lighting up on Latitude 2100
Can anyone help me to get the backlight to light up on a Latitude 2100? Ever since I reinstalled the notebook I can't get it to work again. Your help would be much appreciated.

Laptop battery charging but draining
Dell Latitude 3540 OS Windows 7 Professional battery indicates that it is plugged in and charging, but also shows that it is draining.
I have got my laptop for 7 months and its battery keeps slowly draining even if I always keep the computer plugged in and never run it on the battery. When the battery goes down about 50%, I simply shut down the laptop, take out the battery, put it back, turn on my laptop and then the battery starts to charge and goes up to 100%. It remains fully charged about a week or so and then starts slowly draining again. Is it a bad sign? What should I do?
I've checked BIOS and it shows that there's a 65W adapter on the computer and the battery works normally.

As a new XPS-13 owner, I'm very interested in they dock. But it's very hard to find info about it. Does anyone have the scoop? I'm particularly interested in:
- When will it be available? yeah, I know Dell says "2016", but a bit more detail would help

life of battery after upgrade
Hi,
I upgraded mu Inspiron 7520 lat month with an 20Gb SSD and Windows 10.
Since then is my battery lifecycle less than 1 hour for 100% while I would expect the battery to last for more than 2 hours; Is this a problem with the setup? What can I do to get this solved and to work longet on battery

Inspiron 15 keyboard not working
the left side of my series 5000 laptop has stopped working (I am using the touch screen keyboard to type this). Looking at these forums, rhis seems to be a common problem with this model. I've seen lots of complaints, but no solutions from Dell. This seems like it is a major issue, why is there no fix yet? Why has Dell not contacted all the series 5000 users about this? Is this what Dell has come to?

Inspiron 7537 BIOS Update Compatibility
Hello everyone,
I've been trying to update the BIOS on my Inspiron 7537 running Windows 10 all afternoon, but none of the executable files I've downloaded from Dell will run. They all open, say that they're "unpacking files", then another window will flash briefly, then everything closes and my BIOS is still on the same version (A07). I've tried booting to a USB drive to update it myself, but when I go into the F2 menu and try to change from UEFI to Legacy, which I've been told I have to do to boot to a USB, the option is grayed-out and I can't change it. Any ideas on why the .exe file won't stay open on my computer?

BIOS update causes major problem
On August 27, 2015, I got a notice from Dell Update that there was a new version of the BIOS for my computer (a Dell Inspiron 15 laptop). My computer was out of warranty at that time, so I appreciated the notice, thinking Dell was good to update the BIOS. However, the update has proven to be a disaster.
Whenever the computer is idle for more than a half hour, it goes to blue screen and says it has encountered a problem and needs to restart. The error is called "kernel data inpage (sic) error." I first tried Dell Support, but they absolutely refused to do anything to fix it, because it is out of warranty. They told me to go back to a point before the update. No matter how much I argued that they had caused the problem, they still refused to fix it and would not help me regress the computer to an earlier time (I don't know how to do it)
I I have found out since that the Intel Rapid Storage Technology Driver is missing and, according to Microsoft, is causing the problem I am having. I need Dell's help to replace that (so I choose the right version). But, now, Dell Detect won't run on my computer, and I can't find anything on the web site to tell me which one is right. Also, I am shut out of Dell chat and there is a multihour waited for phone support.
Before this happened I was ready to be a Dell customer for life. Now I feel like I'm being told to go away.
Has anyone else had an issue with this BIOS update?

Inspiron 15 under warranty, hinge pulling apart
My Inspiron 15 (5000 Series) is pulling apart at the hinge. Specifically the lower sections. On one side the screw has come out completely and the hole is stripped. On the other the screw head broke through the plastic. How do I go about getting this fixed before it causes bigger problems and is it covered under the warranty?

Laptop: dell vostro n series laptop
I was trying to install windows 7 on my laptop by bootable usb. I tried to install several times but i recieved follwing result : "Setup was unable to create a new system partition or locate an existing system partition"
In order to install i deleted my all partitons so I no longer have any OS in my laptop. So, I no longer able to use my laptop.
Please guide me how to install window on my laptop.

Dell Precision 7510
Recently I bought Dell Precision 7510 workstation laptop. I am getting some grinding noise from left side next to touch pad, lower to keyboard. Initially I thought the place is corresponding to hard disk. I spoke to technical person from Dell, he did not said what part is there. But he suggested to return the product, since it is just two days old. For some reason i want to know before sending back to dell. I had two year old Dell Inspiron 5537. I open and checked that the part contain RAM. I do not know what is inside.
Is it possible to public (like me) to know the internal structure of precision 7510.

Dell Latitude 7350 2in1 - AC no charging and mouse disappears
Hi, Im need of help.
My notebook is not charging. It receives error code 2000-0314 and says the charger thermistor is exceeding 125c.
The battery doesn't charge and the mouse (touchpad and USB attached) disappears and my notebook powers off if the AC cord is removed. The battery status is "plugged in not charging".
I have updated the BIOS and tried all I can, including tapping gently near the ESC button incase it is a dislodged cable.
Both batteries, the keyboard and screen aren't charging (I have plugged into both ports)
Below is the error I am getting.

Reader function on XPS 11 goes black when opening pdf's
Any time I open a PDF the XPS 11 automatically goes to the 'Reader' which results in a solid black screen. Not sure what happened as it used to work fine. Any help?

My laptop: Dell Latitude E5550 - 15.6" FHD - Core i5 5300U - Intel HD Graphics 5500 - Windows 7 Pro 64-bit - 8 GB RAM - 500 GB HDD.
What drivers/software is responsible for displaying On Screen Volume and Screen Brightness Indicator (when using Fn+F2,F3,...) ?
What I've found so far that the Dell QuickSet could do this work, but I couldn't find a compatible version of this soft for Dell Latitude E5550.

Dell XPS 13 I7 QHD : From W10 to W7 for performance improvements ?
Hi all !
I am a recent buyer of a Dell XPS 13 with an I7 inside and the HD+ touchscreen.
It was installed with Windows 8, and I moved for W10. For now it was working nicely ( as it really increased the performance on another computer I have, a more powerfull one ), but for now 1 week my laptop has been struggling for a lot of tasks :
- Open Web browsers ( Edge, Chrome, Mozilla ) and display web pages
- Quickly get to files in the browser
- ...
As a precision , I must say that my SSD is not full at all, full anti virus screening showed no particular evidence, and I am up to date (both Windows and Dell softs).
To be honnest, my fear is that this QHD screen might be too much to handle for the core, as when my computer struggles, and I open the task manager, I do not see any weird use of processor or RAM.
I was thinking recently to move down to W7 ( I have a personnal licence ) and I was wondering if one of you did this too, and how this computer works with W7. Are they drivers missing ? troubles ?
