I'm wondering if I'm better off just watching at 720p on my Inspiron 15 7537 (the 1366x768 resolution version) or 1080p/greater. I'm assuming downscaling will degrade the quality of the 1080p video but upscaling the 720p to 768 does too. If the difference is negligible and you can't detect the difference, I'd like to spare the CPU power and bandwidth and just view at 720p while doing other things. So, basically, having a 1366x768 display, should I be viewing at 720p or 1080p/greater?
Is it better to view at a higher resolution than my laptop's native resolution?

Pre-Installed Sofware lost - How can I download it? Dell E6440
So I reinstalled Windows 7 from a DVD and basically lost all pre-installed software by Dell. This includes fingerprint reader software, dell touch-pad settings, Dell audio devices and many others. Is there a way in which I can get them back? I would appreciate a response :)

N5110 touchbad buttons not working
I have a N5110. the touchpad buttons dont work... I cant use the rightclick or left click buttons. so i cant vopy and paste. shut down or anything like that. its only the center pad itself thats working. i have uninstalled the driver and reinstall its. but they still arent working.. if i cant use the copy and paste buttons i cant open any files.. please tell me how to fix this. every troubleshooot thread is all about the how to fix if the whole thing doesnt work but not how to get the buttons to work.. lease help

Latitude E6520 HDD Failed Need Advice On New Drive
I need help figuring out what HDD I need to replace a crashed drive. My specs are:
Latitude E6520
Current (crashed) HDD: MFG: Seagate Model: ST320LT020 P/N: 9YG142-031 FW: 003DEM1
Size: 320Gb
I pulled my packet of literature and discs that came with the laptop in 2012. In there I found a notification sheet about 512e Hard Drive.
It says:
Your computer MAY contain a 512e (Advanced Format) hard drive.
Before installing an operating system on a 512e (Advanced Format) hard drive, go to "..dell.com/512e-drives" for important information and installation instructions to insure compatibility and performance optimization.
SO my question is; what hard drive do I replace the original one with? There is no way to run utility now to tell if this was a 512e. Seagate doesn't make this exact drive anymore. How do I ensure that I get a compatible drive? Or do I just get any 2.5" SATA drive and start the re-installation?

N5110 touchpad buttons
The buttons on my touchpad are not working. I can use the center pad but not the buttons and with it I can't use the drop down menus when I right click. In fact I cants do anything. The PC has a problem and I can't get into the needed menu to remove the problem. My mouse died last week.. Please help

Dell Inspiron 7568 2-in-1 screen won't auto rotate
Hi, when using the laptop in tablet mode or tent mode the screen does not rotate accordingly. I installed the ST Microelectronics Free Fall Sensor Application but in Device Manager I only see "HID Sensor" under the Sensor category, nothing STM-related. Also, no conflicts in Device Manager and no missing devices either. I tried going to Display/Advanced Settings but the option to "Allow the Screen to Auto Rotate" is not present. Any hints? Thanks

Upgrading Motherboards
I have a question for you experts. I have a Dell Studio 1735. It runs great but extremely slow. The most ram I can put in it is 4 gigs unless I update the mobo with a 1737 board which will give me a 8 gig max and plenty more speed.
So my question is , Can I change these boards out without running into lots of trouble. I am hoping to use the same processor but add two 4gig memory sticks and maybe another 1TB drive.

Cant boot my kingston ssd
Hello all ,
I recently bought a kingston ssd and decided to migrate my os on it using paragon disk managment
Now after am done migrating , my laptop which is dell inspiron 15r ( bios A14 ) cant boot from the ssd
Its as if it doesnt exist , i used caddy hdd to replace my unused cd drive , and take advantage of it by installing ssd instead of it ,,,
I try to boot from ssd , nothing happens , i even removed hdd and tried to boot from ssd , no chance
I put my ssd in hdd slot , but failed to boot
Is there anything am missing ?

Bluetooth Driver
Dear Sir.Madam,
With recent updates in Windows 10, currently I am unable to use my Sony bluetooth headset with my Dell XPS L502X laptop.
The device can pair, then connected, but unable to produce sound.
Can anyone help me in this matter.
Previously it was working smoothly, once I upgraded to the most recent Windows 10, the problem started.
Note* Sony does not have driver for this particular model of headset.

Windows Upgrade Display Driver Black Screen of Death.
Hi guys just wondering if anybody could help me here-
I can upgrade my laptop from windows 8.1 to windows 10, however when windows 10 does its automatic updates it upgrades my "display drivers" and then suggests restarting, which I do.
But once it restarts it gets just passed the initial first dell logo screen at the bios phase I think, then it gets no further and I just get a blank screen and it freezes.
Anyone got any clues?
I have just updated my BIOS minutes ago after doing a check on the dell website.

Dell XPS 13 electrical noise
Dear Dell,
I just got my laptop 2 weeks ago. The problem arises when I'm scrolling or doing some browsing I hear a really soft but annoying electrical buzzing sound coming from the upper left corner. The problem doesn't occur when I'm not using my laptop.
Any ideas?

DVD/CD drive not recognising media, brand new Dell 5000 series, windows 10
Dell Inspiron 15, 5000 series, arrived yesterday afternoon
Just been trying to set it up and having trouble with the DVD drive - doesn't recognise anything that is loaded.
Makes all the right noises, tray opens and closes, LED works, whirring/spinning sound, as expected.
But nothing showing in windows explorer. No drive appears. No autoplay.
Have stepped through the auto supportassist feature, no reported problems with anything,
Device manager showing that the DVD drive is connected and working as it should. Drivers are saying up to date.
The only one time I managed to get the laptop to recognise something in the DVD tray was actually when I went into device manager and clicked on the update driver button. It seemed to trigger something that made the disc inside spin and the drive appeared briefly in windows explorer. But since then, it either displayed the contents of that one disc (even when different discs were loaded subsequently), and since rebooting has gone back to not showing anything.
Same story whether CDs, DVDs, software, etc
Of course Dell support are not available until monday when i'm back at work!! Hopeless!
Is there something obvious i'm missing? Have I not set up the new laptop properly (I followed all the instructions on screen when first booting and been through everything in the quick start guide twice now)?
Any advice greatfully recieved!

Swapping the 1TB hard drive out for a Samsung 250GB SSD....
Hi. My wife has an Inspiron 15R 5537 with a 1TB hard drive. I want to swap out that hard drive for a Samsung 250GB SSD.
I think that will fit but my problem is doing a clean install of Windows 7 Professional on the new SSD.
I tried downloading an ISO file from Microsoft but came back with this:
Error-The product key you entered appears to be for software pre-installed by the device manufacturer. Please contact the device manufacturer for software recovery options.
So how would I get an ISO file for Windows 7 Pro downloaded to a USB drive so I can do a clean install of the OS?
I'm not interested in Windows 8, 8.1, or Windows 10. At least not right now.
I have no worries about what's on the current installed hard drive, everything she wants has been backed up.
