DELL Inspiron 15 7537 won't completely SHUTDOWN. When it was shutdown, it won't BOOT-UP.

I have a serious problem at these days.

First of all, windows version (7,8,8.1,10) does not matter (i tried all), that was completely caused by laptop.

When I shutdown computer, after a while cooler fan turns and never stop. I want to boot-up again, and I press the power button, but pc does not response. DELL logo never shows up.

To boot-up again I have to press power button for 4-5 seconds to cut electricity.

I shutdown my laptop at night, when I woke up the battery is completely finished (%0 or %1). Never warm me "Critical Battery, to continue press F1".

If anyone knows why this happened or the solution, please help me asap.

Problems with waking up in Dell Inspiron 15 5547 - Windows 8.1

Hello I've look all over the forums for solutions on my laptop not waking up from sleep and still have not found one that works. In one they say to update the drivers, I did that, didn't work. I went into BIOS and I tried fixing the power management. couldn't find the power management tab.

Can somebody please give an explicit solution to solving this problem. I dont want to modify my laptop to "never" go to sleep. I want it to sleep and I want it to wake up like a normal laptop should.

Thanks for the help.

M3800 workstation display has 2 horizontal flickering lines (approx 1cm thick) under certain colour shades

Hi Guys,

One of my first posts on this forum, as its my first DELL machine.

The workstation is:

DELL M3800

CPU i7-4712HQ

GPU NVIDIA Quadro K1100M

W10 Pro

Over the last few months, the screen has developed two horizontal lines (Splitting the display into 3 segments) that appear to flicker when showing certain shades of colour. The flicker is completely invisible under white or black backgrounds, but becomes extremely noticeable under different shades of grey, and other darker colours. The lines appear to start approx .5 cm from the left edge with a sharp contrast, and fade away towards the right edge.

The flicker appears to be getting progressively worse over the past couple of weeks, but does go away sometimes altogether.

I have reinstalled my video and chipset drivers and am running out of ideas.

Tried a HDMI connection to a TV, and the lines are not present, which seems to point towards the display being faulty?

Any suggestions on what could be causing this would be greatly appreciated!

Every video and web description I've read, shows having to remove a single screw located inside the ram compartment first, but my N5010 has no such screw.  That area is completely blank.

any ideas?.

Dell 5558-5717S restarting issue.

Hello,

I've purchased this laptop a week ago, it was working fine until just recently. Anyways, for some reason whenever I lightly rest my hand on the left side next to the trackpad or press the left/right buttons on the trackpad my laptop will restart. I can scroll/tap on the trackpad except for when I need to click on the buttons which causes the restart. I updated the BIOS and whichever drivers I needed to the latest ones. Any ideas what might be the cause?

It has i5-5200u, 64 Win10, 1TB, 8RAM

Any way to turn off touch zoom on Dell XPS touchscreen?

$

My Dell XPS touch screen drives me crazy. I use my finger to touch screen and scroll up and down (try my hardest not to tap screen) Probably 30% of the time the screen zooms and I have to double tap screen to get screen back to 100%. Scroll some more and it zooms again, have to double tap to unzoom. Any way to turn single touch zoom off? This happens in IE, Firefox, Adobe etc. Happened in 8.1 and also happens in Windows 10 after I upgraded. Ready to just turn touch screen off. (has nothing to do with touch pad, just touch screen itself). Thanks

Laptop isn't turning on. Model : Dell Studio 1555

I have a dell studio 1555. Purchased 5 years ago. The warranty has expired and the battery doesn't work. So I operate it on the charger all the time. But suddenly, my laptop isn't turning on. The light which shows the connection of the charger isn't glowing either. I'm assuming that the charger isn't even getting detected. The same problem happened yesterday, and it turned off suddenly. But after an hour of trying, the charger got detected and it worked. Again today, it suddenly turned off. And hasn't been working ever since. The same issues of charger not getting detected I guess or whatever. Could I get some help please ? What should I do now ?

Hi. My laptop has a black screen when it turned on. I have replaced the CMOS battery and now the laptop beeps 8 times (lcd problem). I already ordered new lvds cable and still waiting for it to arrive. Sometimes it displayed on my tv using hdmi cable and sometimes it didn't work. Why?

Dell XPS 15 (Model 9550) touch screen no longer working.

$

I got my laptop just a few weeks ago, and it came with Windows 10.  Soon afterwards the touch screen started not working, very similar to the posts about the USB device being powered down to save battery (you can find those posts, from Dec 2013 else on this site).

However, I'm on Windows10, with the recent large November public update applied.  In device manager there is no 'USB Input Device' listed under Human Interface Devices.

Further: the System's Settings->About panel the OS is reporting under "Pen and Touch" that "No pen or touch input is available for this display".

So, beyond USB power settings, it seems like I'm completely missing the device driver for the touch screen.

I have applied every driver, bios & firmware update that I can find on the Dell support site.  Nothing fixed things.

Any hints?  Am I looking for a display driver or an input driver or something else?

Thanks!

Dave.
