i found "no boot device found" error when i was installing windows 10. For the first time it loaded the bootable usb and i deleted the windows partition, but when it restarted , it then showed that message , i tried to restart it again and again but it didn't work...i did that in legacy mode and also the usb is properly booted for windows ...

So, my alienware crashed yesterday saying it had a memory crash and needed to restart.
The problem is it couldn't boot.
A the BIOS my Hdd is being recognised, WDC WD10JPVX-75JC3TO 1000GB
I already tried booting on Legacy and UEFI, non worked.
I also unplugged all cables connected to my laptop.
Please help

hello everyone..i have on alienware m17x r4 which i purchased in 2013 from Singapore... my DVD drive isn't working and i have tried every solution available on the internet...still any suggestions shall be appreciated..moreover i would like to know if i would be able to replace the disk drive and upgrade the graphics card and processor from any dell store..also some part of my laptop chassis is also damaged..i want to know if that can be replaced too...my warranty is over so i am ready to pay price for replacement of parts

Is this possible? the pcie versions are the same, so it should fit, but I don't know if this newer card will be banned by the bios...

I started to have this issue when I started doing windows updates on my windows 7, alienware 17. Now I'm on windows 10 hoping it would fix the issue but it didn't.
So when I watch streams/videos full screen and while playing games at certain point my fan goes crazy and my fps drops by a hugeee amount, than under a minute it disappears but it keeps happening time to time, so what do I do to fix this?
It might be over heating but wouldn't it cause continuous effects?
PS: I am afraid to use reset pc feature since a lot of people had missing files with alienware software and need re-installation of windows

I am trying to help my 70-year-old Mother in law use this computer to learn about computers and chat with some of her friends and relatives. Her sister gave her this computer this summer along with all the disks that came with it when it was new. She asked me to help her. She would like to get the Windows 10 upgrade if possible. So I used the disks to reinstall XP that this laptop came with. I upgraded it to service pack 3 in hopes of installing Window 7 Professional 32 bit/64 bit that I own. From here I would like to get her the free upgrade to Window 10. I have been working on this project for what seems like months now. Seem like just when I have found a resolution another obstacle occurs. My current problem is that now the power button turns on the power light solid but I get only a blank screen and so thought that I must have crashed the hard drive or needed to replace the memory. I ordered a new hard drive 40 gig I think that's what it came with. And also 2 one gig memory cards from amazon according to the specks in the Dell Inspiron 8600 manual and I installed these items as per manual. I also as per video took apart the power button assembly and reseated the orange strip and successfully put it back together again. I still can turn on the power light and I have recently purchased a new battery and power supply that are both good. I try to run Windows 7 OS disk. and also XP OS disk neither one will boot. So far I am getting no display so I can’t get any bios or any kind of boot. If anyone has some useful advice for me I would be so glad. I hope it is just something that I have missed. I would like to at least give her this machine with Window 7 on it. Thanks.

-first: when I install windows 8.1 him self installed all drivers for my Dell;
-After reboot the computer apear with BLUESCREEN with WATCHDOG.sys violation;

I purchased an M3800 laptop in late December 2014 and installed Fedora Core 21 linux on it. Linux ran great on the laptop but I found that the laptop would never wake after having closed the lid of the laptop. About 2 weeks ago the laptop would not boot and I called Dell. They had me send the laptop to their depot and it was returned in less than a week with a new motherboard. I'm pleased to report that the laptop is working again and that it now awakes from sleep upon opening the lid. Throughout the process I was kept well informed of progress (by several Dell representatives). Hopefully my laptop will continue working well though I know others have reported having repeat problems with this m3800 and the need to replace the motherboard several times. Since support forums usually focus on the negative aspects of Dell's support, I wanted to let others know of my positive experience with them - i.e. they are trying to do the right thing.

I just purchased the 9550 with the 250GB M.2. It came with the small battery and the cage for the standard 2.5" drive. It didn't come with a cable for it. I can find the part number for the old model SATA cable but don't know if it with have the right connector or length. If anyone purchased the new skylake model and has already taken apart your model to replace the spindle drive, please let me know the cable part number. I'd like to order one but Dell support didn't know the part number.

i have a Inspiron 5547 (with touch screen ) . i notice sometimes , the gesture facility of my touch pad do not work (like double tap, three finger touch , scrolling etc. ). And also some time touch facility of touch screen don't work or gone for till the time , i restart it. During this fault i check the common mobility device of my laptop (sound card, touch pad, speakers etc) but i did not find my "pen and touch" option there, it seems like my laptop never had a touch screen. Now these days this is happening so frequently, specially with touch pad gesture. Please help...
Three year old Inspiron 5423 running Win 7. A year or 800 hours after I received it the motherboard died. New one installed and all has been fine. The other day I plugged in my printer and no lights came on. Odd so I plugged in the charger which lit up but no lights on the laptop. It is totally dead Before I send it in and spend hundreds again to fix it, can someone suggest a diagnosis so I can then consider fixing it? It seems the battery died but I'm not positive and don't want to buy a new one and then have it still not work, ya know?

I have had this beautiful Dell n5010 for 4 years now. It is running beautifully, but lately I have been experiencing a lot of issues. It is regarding the Shutdown.
The laptop boots up normally, and then the fan whines. Basically, I have been trying to change the operating system on my laptop, but it shuts down midway between installations. I thought that overheating might be the issue, but the laptop does not feel hot, and using Core Temp(TM) I noted the core CPU temperature to be rising to a measly 54 degree Celsius. It is not overheating, and the RAM and HDD seem to be working perfectly, and I can even boot into my Windows 8.1 Installation. However, after I try to boot from any external media, the fan whines like mad and then shuts down after a maximum of 4 minutes. Don't know what to do. I thought that the thermal paste might be the issue, but the CPU is not hot, I have experienced hotter temperatures before. I am not running any heavy games on this laptop. Please help me out

I just reset to factory defaults on Windows 8.1 64-bit, due to Group Policy issues. I was updating the drivers. I have installed the Chipset and the System Utility. I was able to install one Realtek network driver, but the other one for Dell Wireless 1x1 WLAN 802.11b/g/n (2.4 GHz) does not work. The error was "ERROR_INSTALLATION_PLATFORM_UNSUPPORTED".
I don't have ethernet access, only WiFi.
In my Device Manager, under Other Devices, I have warnings against Network Controller and an Unknown Device.

Whenever I start wireless connection using Fn+F2 wifi starts normally but bluetooth is not working. Bluetooth is on and keep searching and searching but can't find any device or found by any device.
I think in PC Setting > Network > Airplane Mode there should be Wifi and Bluetooth ON/OFF option. But there's only wifi availabe and its working fine. But no option for Bluetooth.
N.B: I have tried "Bluetooth Support Service" method. But unfortunately its not starting. I'm not sure at first when i try the method the Service is already running or not. But now its showing off i'm getting 1079 error msg.
