Done usual clean up malware etc etc, dell diagonistics, driver upgrades ( Bios upgraded) but stil. Slow. Booting ok. Applications take long to load.
Hesitating to clean install win xp as, all the updates will be lost. Please help.

downloads not working...
So, I am trying to download Opera browser on my Dell inspiron, but it stays at 0 percent, Mozilla Firefox downloaded, but doesn't open, and a few of my games have errors, aka corrupt files, I have reinstalled them many times, that doesn't work, so, I need help. also, when I try to download anything from a disk, it lags, and almost stops responding.

Dell Inspiron 1520 and combined WLAN/ Bluetooth PCI card RTL8723AE
Hi all.
I'm still chipping away with my Inspiron 1520, but with a few tweaks and upgrades, it still more than meets my needs.
Recently, the WLAN card died, and I replaced it with the above. Despite having to use two of the other antenna cables (the ones from the old card wouldn't reach), the card works fine for wireless.
My question is this - the card is a combined Bluetooth/WLAN card. I know the 1520 supports Bluetooth, but I believe that internally this is through the WPAN slot. I've tried, but cannot find any Vista drivers to enable the Bluetooth on this card. No Bluetooth devices are found in BIOS - Bluetooth is enabled. Is it possible to use it through the WLAN slot via a combined card on this machine, or am I trying to make something work which is never going to?

Inspiron 3148 - charging issue
Hi,
I recently bought am Inspiron 3148.
More often than not when I plug in the charger to the laptop I get the following warning message:
I am using the charger and cable that came in-box with the laptop. I am plugged the charger properly into the mains socket and in to the laptop.
When this happens the laptop stops charging. Several times now I've returned to find my laptop not charged, which is frustrating. After some unplugging and replugging it occasionally works.
Has anyone else seen this issue? If "yes" then how did you fix it?

Video flickers when opening 3330 screen to a certain angle
Hi All
My latitude 3330 has a video problem. When I open the screen to just past 90 degrees, the video flickers and flashes randomly. If I close the lid a little, I can get it to work, but it's pretty inconvenient.
It was purchased 27 August 2013.
How do I get a quote for repairing it?

CPU throttle stuck
Since I own my Latitude E7440, I am encountering the following problem:
The i5-4310U processor is supposed to throttle from 800 to 2600mhz based on demand.
However, it seems stuck at 800mhz after sleep when running on battery power.
This results in 100% cpu usage and slow performance. Reboot fixes the problem -until next wake-up.
I hope someone can help me find a solution to this problem.
As a temporary solution I am controlling the cpu speed manually with a tool called ThrottleStop.
Any (potential) solution or explanation is welcome.

Laptop screen flashing colours upon starting.
Hello,
I've got a dell xps m1730 laptop. Suddenly upon starting the machine, the screen flashes different colours - blue, green, white. The machine noise upon starting is the same as before.
I subsequently connected my laptop to a different monitor and it doesn't come up with the screen lock log in but instead goes to a blue background with the message 'a problem has been detected...'. At the bottom it states 'collecting data for crash dump'. Anyway, i restarted the machine and somehow ran a diagnostics test and got the error message 'hardware detect error 2000-0411'.
I have no idea what this is and how I can resolve this. Essentially I want access to all the files on the laptop.

the pc is formatted and when I try to enroll one of my fingers (others work) it tells me "this fingerprint is already enrolled on another account." this is the only account on the PC and I tried using local account and not Microsoft account. what is going on ?

No Post Issue
I have a 17" Alienware laptop that is less than a year old, when I try to start it the lights on the logo and keyboard come on for about a second and then it immediately turns off. I know it has almost a full battery and I have tried unplugging everything and then only re-plugging in the power supply and trying to turn it on. I have also tried to turn it on with nothing plugged in. This usually fixed the problem. The computer updated yesterday and turned on fine but now my trick of unplugging everything is not working at all. I need this computer up and running as soon as possible as I use it for not only gaming but also graduate school. Any help would be appreciated.

My touchpad stays disbled even after i open the lid
I upgraded my Dell Inspiron 14 5447 Laptop to windows 10. Now the touchpad gets disabled when i close the lid. That's good but sometimes when i open the lid, the touchpad stays disabled. After few closing and opening of the lid upto a certain angle touchpad gets enabled. I'am sure that its not any hardware issue. From the moment i upgraded to windows 10 this issue is there. Please tell me how to stop disabling my touchpad when i close the laps lid.

Critical Error
After trying to do a system restore I received a Critical Error message that says" Start Menu and Cortana aren't working. We'll try to fix it the next time you sign in." I have signed in more than 12 times and it has not been fixed. Without a Start Menu I can not find a way to restore to another date or fix the problem. One of the error codes I have seen is "0XC000000f". Any suggestions. Also when trying to install the auto detect and run diagnostics it fails saying that my internet connection did not work properly.

Problems with McAfee and E5450
Loaded Drive Encryption on new Dell Precision E5450 Laptop.
When system boots, the mouse shoots up to the far upper right of the screen and is unusable.
Using Tab key to navigate to log in...once windows starts, mouse operates normally.
Any suggestions?
