- 2 days ago I've experienced that strange problem that when i plug in my AC adapter batter doesn't charge ! though the lap works just fine .
Notes:-
i put my battery in another lap of my friends and it charged just fine ( so it is not battery )
i use the charger of my friend ( 4.6 A ) on my lap but it also didn't charge my battery ( my AC adapter is 19.5 v 6.7 A )
i tried to update Bios too and didn't work .
i need help please because i can't continue like that .

I am a proud owner of a Precision M4700.
Unfortunately yesterday evening I broke the [+] key of the numeric keypad.
more precisely, I broke a small piece of white plastic U-shaped below the key.
What can I do? Can I find the spare part or need I to change all the keyboard?

I have Dell Inspiron 14 3421, and I brought it with win.8 ( home Edition), and due to business needs I installed Win.7-64 bits as company role.
now I am not belonging to company network, and I upgrade my windows to win.10-64 bits, after upgrading, the Touch screen is not working even re-installing its driver, but it is working when I need to unlock windows only.
the setting is as follow in pics.

I bought a new battery because my previous battery died.
This new battery Turn off the laptop while 30% battery still remains and it stop charging battery when it reaches 100% and if my laptop keeps running and battery become low again it plug in charger but it do not start charging i have to shut down my laptop then it start charging otherwise in running mode it do not charge.
Please help me with this problem.

I have made two recent new purchases.. one being the 12,000 mah power companion and the other being the Dell 11 2 in 1 .. both seem to be great products.
The Power companion works great with my work laptop Lattitude E5540
But when I change cords and use with my new 11 2 in 1 it will power it but the bios message comes up saying wrong power supply.. It will power it fine but it wont charge the laptop,,
I assumed the dell 11 2 in 1 would just need a bios update to allow it to work. so I downloaded and the bios and found it was the same version installed #7 ..
I am out of ideas "Help" my whole reason for the power companion was this 11 2 in 1 .. while its nice for my latitude it already has an all day battery and I don't need the extra power.

It takes ages, it seems - I waited for about an hour. How long does it take it is to detect if a software if installed, I wonder.
The I used to Try Again' to install System Detect anyway. But it still keep checking, making me wonder it this working properly at all.
System Detect is in my system tray, but I do not know what to do with it. I just wan to run some test on my computer.

So my laptop will get past the dell splash screen and then just hang on a blank screen. The third reset will bring up the troubleshooting screen, and the only way I can get the laptop to boot is by performing a system restore or complete reformat. However any time I turn the laptop off the problem will reoccur.
I ran diagnostics with Fn boot and it came back that everything was in working order, although the diagnostics process froze twice needing me to abort and redo it, completing in the third time if that might have any significance.

I want replace HDD with an SSD and install Windows 7.
I do not want to use the mSATA 32GB (cahcé). (Perhaps to install Linux in the future)
How should I set the BIOS?
Intel Speed Step (Enabled / Disabled)
Sata Operation (Intel Smart Response T. / AHCI / ATA)
Intel Rapid Start Technology (Enabled / Disabled)
Boot List Option (UEFI / Legacy)
Any other settings required?

In my Touchpad settings, the left mouse button is set to "click" and the right mouse button is set to "shortcut menu".
However, many times when I click the right button, on purpose or not, it acts as a "click" button and opens pages and such.
How in the world do I shut this off so it will stop doing this?
Can I upgrade my old 9.4 NiMH to the newer 14.4 li-ion without a problem. And if I can do I put the new battery in and update the bios?
My new Inspiron 15 5558 had a pattern burned into the screen. The Dell tech came and put a new screen on it. 4 days later, the new screen has an image burned into it. Help?
Hi,
My ATG D630 has started leaking a sticky substance from the lower edge of the screen. This is leaving a long air bubble running up the right hand edge of the screen.
Is this substance ok to handle as it is getting on the power button and some of the Function keys? Also is this going to cause great issues if left as it is.
I have had this laptop from new with my job, and now that I have retired after 30 years service I was given it as a parting gift as it is still fully functional and I am rather attached to it.

I have a dell inspiron 7537. although it has a 3D capable graphic card, i can't seem to make it work with an external 3D tv or a 3D monitor.
i think it keep using the on board intel graphics after connecting to the external displays. not sure though. can anyone help??
after windows setup i had lost all device driver for Dell Inspiron15-3521. how can i find/download all driver that are needed.
My Dell Inspiron laptop is introducing five beeps before starting.
When removing the battery it is free of such beeps and turns on normally, with the battery it features the beeps and the restart does not present this problem and connects normally.
Already changed the BIOS CMOS battery.
I wonder if there was already a problem like this I've been having and how to solve it practically.
I just installed windows 8.1 64bit on my new Dell Inspiron 15 5558 and I'm having problems installing some drivers, I tried the drivers section on Dell website for this model and OS version but the installation fails with error.

I've just recently bought a dell xps 15(higher spec) and I have to say that I am extremely disappointed in its performance. After reading reviews about the dell xps, I was looking forward to a high performance laptop with little to no downfalls other than its relatively steeper price. It has been a week since I've received the laptop and I have been plagued by troubles since. Since I've updated the laptop to windows 10 my computer has constantly been BSODing(page fault in non paged area) which only did I recently discover that it was due to a faulty video driver that I have then updated several times to no avail- meaning that I have had to disable my nvdia video driver which was one of the highlights of the laptop itself. Not only is the computer laggy when browsing the internet, it lags even more whilst gaming which surprises my considering that it possess a 16GB ram. Furthermore, my built-in microphone is not working and the battery life is rather laughable. I am willing to concede the fact that these problems could have been caused by my own blunders and inexperience in using a windows laptop(have just recently transitioned from a macbook pro). As such, any advice on either improving my computer's performance or any steps on refunding it, etc. would be much appreciated.
Hi, I've just recently acquired, a week ago, a Dell xps 15(higher specs) and have been rather disappointed in its performance. The laptop is laggy when opening applications or while browsing the internet and is even more so during games- which surprises my considering the fact that it has 16GBs of ram. My process in trying to get a new SSD with DELL has been frustrating.
This is my 2nd laptop 512 SSD, XPS 13. I was told that after my first laptop had the Hynix SSD that the second would ship with LiteOn SSD. Colin Hu confirmed the 2nd laptop would ship with the SSD that could upgrade to Windows 10. It arrived with the Hynix drive.
Then an LiteOn SSD was shipped out and service tech came out quickly. However, image on hard drive corrupt and needed USB to boot. Another drive was shipped out which was Samsung SSD, but no image. Upon USB boot, there was no activation code thad Dell included in that shipment.
Now am waiting for an entirely new motherboard which has product code on it to ship out.
All this in order to upgrade to Windows 10 on this machine configuration and DELL still has no great answers or solutions. Service reps are not entirely aware of what is needed to correct the problem and service techs sent out for repair are limited in what they can do for help.
This has been a month long process and still don't have the laptop that they advertise should be upgradeable to Windows 10.
