Inspiron 1750 Freezes

I have a Dell Inspiron 1750 running Windows 7 Home Premium. It freezes for about 35 seconds whenever I open certain web pages or emails. Any Home Depot email causes it to freeze. Other pages cause it to freeze also. This happens with IE and Firefox. The clock even stops during the freeze. If I wait, things run normal, until I open another Home Depot email, for example.

Hello. I have this inspiron 14z-5423. Almost 2 years it is beeping 8 times at startup and it is openning wrongly. There are 4 seperate desktop like in the photo. But it is happenning only normal situation ( you know you push the power button when its lid open)

Normally in this situation, I can say screen is faulty or broken BUT here is the thing, I figured it out when I push the power button and right away close the lid, my finger in between, (like in the photo) after waiting to get welcome screen, like 10 seconds, I open the lid and there are no problems, everything just fine. No beeps, no faulty screen nothing.

That because I think the problem is about one of the monitor cables. What is your opinnions?

Inspirion N5010 will not restart after Windows 10 upgrade attepted

I have tried to upgrade my Inspiron from Windows 7 to Window 10 this weekend. The PC completed the download  and started the install and left the laptop while I went out. came back after around 6 hours the screen could not open and the left hand side of the laptop was very hot. Contol Alt Del, ESC etc would not take the PC from this locked state so I held the power button down to turn the machine off and cool down

The Inspiron will not boot now and bleeps twice when powered on, I have looked this up and it is a faulty RAM code. I have re-seated the RAM but this has not resolved the issue. I thought I would swap memory with an old HP Laptop  to see if the issue moves with the card or stays with the laptop but the memory cards are different so I could not do this

I would appreciate recommendations on the next steps do get the Inspirion 1050 back working

dell N5110. window 10 upgrade plus graphics

First I got to give dell credit for a very easy bio's update. Yes i had to update the bio's as i was running A09 bios but needed A11 bios this was very straight forward and took less then 3 min to do. Not i'm running window 10 but starting to find the dual graphics is a right pain in the back side. Some game's will not use the nivdia GT 525M i set it in the nivdia control penal but they just don't see it.  I will never be going with dual graphics again in a laptop. Dell should of disabled the *** intel 3000 why set the worst gpu as default. using two display driver's amd/nvidia on one system don't work. Will we see dell display drivers to sort out this mess in window 10. ?

XPS 15 (9530) does not boot anymore, error 0xc000021a

Hello everybody,

My XPS 15 does not boot anymore, following a forced shutdown I had to do after it would refuse to wake up from hibernation (black screen for several minutes).

Now, the UEFI is displayed, then the Dell logo with the loading animation, and after a few seconds I get a BSOD with error 0xc000021a. It reboots automatically on the Windows troubleshoot tools.

My computer was on Windows 10 for a few weeks already (update then clean refresh), I had all Dell drivers for Win10 installed, and the Intel Rapid Storage mode set on maximized.

I already tried these things I read on the internet, without success:

  • Switching back and forth the "SATA" option in the bios from Intel Rapid Storage to AHCI.
  • Restoring Windows to a previous point: it would always crash before the end of the operation, telling me that I should run a chkdsk
  • Running a chkdsk: no error found
  • Running a sfc /scannow: no error
  • Refresh windows (with option delete applications and keep documents): the operation is successful, but at first reboot... same bsod...

The only thing I could do is to save my important documents and current works to a usb stick from the command prompt...

I start to be desperate... Anybody has an idea ?

Regards,

Guillaume

Inspiron 3442 intermittently does not wake from sleep

$

My Inspiron 3442 seemingly randomly does not wake up from sleep and at times does not power on from shutdown. I've noticed that this only happens when right after sending the laptop to sleep or shutting down there's a faint sound (similar to a capacitor humming) when I put my ear to the fan vent on the left side of the laptop which persists until I force the laptop off (press the power button for 4 seconds). On these occasions I've also noticed that the laptop becomes a bit hot (note that the laptop is in sleep or powered down). If the sound is not present then I know it will wake up / boot normally.

I've installed all the latest drivers and the newest BIOS revision (A08), which I suspect to be the cause of the problem. Prior to upgrading the BIOS this never happened to me. I've also recently upgraded to Windows 10 Home 64-bit, if that information helps.

Has anyone else experienced this or found a solution? I've already tried uninstalling the Intel Management Engine Components and Intel Security Assist, as well as updating the Intel Management Engine Interface driver from the Device Manager like some posts have suggested but to no avail.

Thanks.

Latest Bios A12

Crucial.com memory selector claims support for 4GB DDR3-12800 CL11 1.35v

I've tried three G-Skill and Samsung products with identical results:

1) G-Skill F3-1600C9D-8GBSL (PC3-12800, CL9, 1.35v)

2) G-Skill F3-12800CL9D-8GBSQ (PC3-12800, CL9, 1.5v)

3) Samsung 4GB 1Rx8 PC3L 12800S-11-13-B4

None boot normally, either as a single device or in combination with existing memory (at same voltage). All devices are recognized in the BIOS (as 1066MHz). Following BIOS splash screen, attempts to boot Windows result in video corrupted in repeated interlaced block pattern and system freezes.

F5 MATS fails with corrupted graphics after several minutes. System is unresponsive.
Memtest 86+ fails almost immediately (Fail-Safe or not) with a spattering of black character cells

These specs appear to be compatible, yet don't work.
Any compatibility suggestions (ideally based on actual experience) would be appreciated.

Dell Studio XPS 15 l521X Windows 10 Touchpad Driver Issue!!!

Hello,

I installed Windows 10 a few days ago and updated the drivers including the Touchpad drivers from the Dell Support site. I immediately noticed system instability caused as soon as I did any mouse gestures (two finger and three finger). Right after doing these gestures, the mouse freezes in place until about twenty seconds. After sometime, different windows start to crash also and scrolling is not smooth. Several restarts and Windows reinstallations were ineffective.

I did some search and found that a person had the same issue a couple of years ago with a different Dell laptop, and they solved the problem by installing the synaptics driver directly form the Synaptics website. I tried that as well and installed the latest synaptics driver, and the system immediately became completely normal, and all mouse gestures became nice and smooth.

I thought to post this to let Dell know about it and in case other people face the same issue.

Windows 10 stuck on spinning dots after upgrade

$

Hello, I own a Dell XPS 13 (L322X) with Win 7 Pro that was recently upgraded to Win 10. The first two days everything went fine. On day three, on boot, the screen was stuck on the Windows Logo with the spinning dots. I let it spin for about 2 hours before powering down and rebooting. On reboot, it did the same thing. Rebooted several times and no luck.

I then attempted entering safe mode by hitting F8. No luck so I did some research and tried F8 SHIFT. Also no luck getting into safe mode.

I then read other users who had this issue that downloaded and used the Win 10 USB recovery media. I downloaded the Media Creation Tool for Microsoft's website and the 64bit Win 10 image. Loaded it onto a blank USB stick and attempted to perform a recovery on the XPS 13. It began running the diagnosis which ran overnight. The next morning it could not find any problems. I rebooted (no USB stick inserted) and still got stuck at the spinning dots.

I then tried to perform a clean install of Windows 10 from the USB Stick. Hit Advanced Install, then skipped the Win 10 license key (since I don't have a Win 10 key, and my Win 7 key didn't take) and begin the install and HD format. It begins to copy files and while at 0% it throws error 0x80070057.

After much frustration, I dug up the old Dell Recovery Media and inserted the disc using a USB CDR drive. Loaded it and then waited, and waited, and waited for the media to load. Nothing ever loaded.

Not sure what do next.

Any suggestions what should be attempted next is greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

"Cannot update a Latitude E7250 with a BIOS for Latitude 7250"

I've just downloaded an "urgent" BIOS update which was released on Aug 19 for my Latitude E7250/7250 running Windows 10. I entered my service tag correctly on download page so there is no mistake. However i got this warning while running the file:

I thought Latitude E7250 and 7250 are the same ? If they are not so where is BIOS update for my Latitude 7250 ?

I think i need this update because it say there is a fix with USB booting. I was unable to boot from a Live Ubuntu USB on my laptop, while it booted successfully on other notebooks.

Please help.

Dell XPS 17 L702X 3D - Memory Upgrade

Hey all, I'm planning on upgrading the memory of my system in the future and was looking for some guidance on what will work. My laptop has 4 memory slots, currently 2 are occupied - 1x 2GB + 1x 4GB (6GB total). My manual that came with the laptop tells me my maximum memory capability is 16GB (4x 4GB). The manual also stipulates the compatible memory type is DDR3 1066MHz / 1333MHz. I'm unsure of what 4GB memory is already installed and understand compatibility with other 4GB memory sticks is dependant on this, so if you're aware of what this model has, please inform me.

Most importantly, could you recommend the best solution to achieve 16GB on this system described above, that is also cost affective if possible. Thank you for your time!

The Dell site returns an error message when I try to reach email support for the product.

The service code of the laptop is<ADMIN NOTE: Express service code removed per privacy policy>
