I updated my Dell inspiron 5547 to windows 10 from 8.1. I keep getting this VIDEO_TDR_FAILURE(atikmpag.sys). Dell cares told me to update the drivers and reinstall. I did all that but the problem still persists it occurs when im watching a video or playing games. Any help?

Hi, I m kpw786. My Dell e6520 is recently upgraded to windows 10 pro. The 1st thing yet I have noticed that Web Cam of my Dell e6520 laptop is not working. Any one who may provide solution please.

Laptop out of general warranty but Dell replaced HDD 3mo before expiration. HDD under warranty?
Hi all... sorry for the odd title.
My laptop went out of warranty in May. In March, the hard drive went bad and Dell replaced it, however, now I'm getting reports that the HDD is going bad - again.
Is the replaced hard drive still under some type of warranty or am I SOL?

Buying laptops from Dell Outlet US vs UK
Hi,
In the past I've bought laptops from Dell Outlet UK, and got excellent deals. I'm going to be in the US for the next 6 months though, and so I was looking to buy a new one from the US Dell Outlet. However, the US Dell Outlet seems to have hardly any stock. Whereas the UK one has many XPS15s in stock, the US one has none at all, and similarly for other models. I do see a few refurbished ones on eBay, but I'd rather buy from Dell if that's possible.
Is there some trick to buying laptops from the US Dell Outlet?

Dell Studio 1458 Display turns black
Hello,
Now its my turn after using the studio 1458 for almost 5 years. I followed the below steps as mentioned in the other threads,
1. Power off the computer.
2. Press and hold the "D" key on the keyboard and then press the power button and wait for the computer to start.
I can hear only a beep sound, but screen remain black.
Please suggest me what to do with this case.
It has been happening for last 10 days in the middle of my work but today I am not able to see anything on the screen. Please note the laptop remains on.

Hi,
I have a Dell Inspiron 5721 laptop and I can't get the "Get Windows 10" app button to reserve a download. I tried running the Windows 10 app troubleshooter and I keep getting a reply that there is trouble with the application eligibility and to try back in a few hours after rebooting the computer. Can anyone give me guidance?

overheating
Hey,
i have a Dell Inspiron N7110 wich is getting hotter and hotter by time ... when the computer is on it get hotter from 27°and by time it get to 80° in normal cases nothing is running on my computer, when i open up a big program wich needs big resources it gets up to 95° when i open up a game it get up to 96°
is this normal ?

Inspiron 15 5447 (2014) Shutsdown after 5 minutes
This has been an ongoing problem with this computer since it was first purchased. Dell sent a tech to work on it, which seemed to fix it for a short while but it has been shutting down again in recent months.
When running diagnostics, I get a warning before it shuts down that says "Video Thermal Senor overheating."

DELL XPS 13 (9343) can't pair with WM615 mouse
I've installed all the drivers by running "Guide me" plus the following ones
Intel PROSet/Wireless Bluetooth LEGUI and DW1560 bluetooth
First of all it can barely find it, I need to switch bluetooth on and off and setting the mouse in pairing mode in some odd combination for it to show up.
When it finally does, I get an error that I should check if the device still is in pairing mode.

Latitude E7240 - Docking and Charging Problems
Hello,
I have a similar problem that was posted earlier - when docked to the E-Port docking station, the laptop was not charging and now the computer will not turn on at all when connected to the AC power adapter.
The BIOS was all up-to-date and was still receiving the error message:
The battery currently attached to the system will not supply enough power to dock for it to function. Please attach AC power to the dock for it to function normally

F2- change setup options
Is there any way to fix this?

Dell Latitude E6510 RAM installation
Hi I have a similar problem to this post by Wrand003 (
)but not exactly my problem is i have already installed the RAM and have gotten the OS to recognize that i have 8gb of RAM installed my problem is that it says in system info that only 3.24gb is usable, and i checked other forums and it turns out that to my knowledge the dell latitiude E6510 does not have a memory remap option in bios setup. So my question is how do i get the PC system to recognize the other 3.76gb as usable?

Dell Studio 1557, doesn't turn on
Hello,
I took apart my Dell Studio 1557 to clean it (and not for the first time), but this time after I put everything back the laptop won't turn on.
I have this laptop since 2009 and didn't have any problems before.
When I press the power button, I can hear that CD-ROM, HDD start to work, Also the CPU and Graphic card getting warm, but there is nothing on the screen (remains black) and fan doesn't start.
I figured out that it's probably some problem with the motherboard and ordered a new one on eBay (exactly the same part), but to my surprise after changing the board I ended up in exactly the same situation as before (no screen and fan; CD-ROM, HDD, CPU, GPU work).
The only noticable diffence after changing the board is that with old board after pressing the power button there was light around it (as it should), and there is none with the new one.
Can it be that I got a faulty board on eBay and should request a replacement? (seems strange consdering almost the same bahavior after the change).
I tried to drain the static charge, and also to connect an external monitor but it didn't help.
I'd appriciate any help and suggestions. Thanks.

dell xps l501x screen lit up on short press of power button
in the recent days i observed strange behaviour with my laptop
on pressing the power button screen is lit up for a moment and windows boots up normally
later i had observed while laptop is off, on short pressing power button my screen is lighting up for a moment
is this normal or start for a major breakdown..
rest laptop is working fine, it is around 4years old

XPS 15 Bricked During BIOS upgrade A08 - A09
I wish I had seen this forum before attempting to flash the BIOS. My expensive 18 month old XPS 15 now wont' power up.
I've read the other threads from owners with the same problem and am posting this as a warning - if your machine is out of warranty - don't flash the BIOS.
Dell support tell me that I will need a new motherboard - at my expense of course - seems ridiculous since their software caused the problem in the first place.

Don't Upgrade to windows 10 for now! (all issues listed, Dell 7537)

i have an inspiron 7537, i upgraded to windows 10 on july 30, and my struggle began since then (UPDATED ALL DRIVERS). i know i could go back to windows 8.1 but i just wanted to try and fix all the issues, so let's begin:
- laptop doesn't come back from sleep, i open the lid and the laptop is hot and doesn't turn on)
- laptop battery drains while in shut down.
- dell back up and recovery software uses 100% of hard drive after startup for a very long period of time (had to uninstall it), and thank you dell but i don't want to upgrade to premium to have a windows 10 recovery..!
- uninstalled dell Truecolor because it was causing issues and not working.
- microphone's volume is too low the you have to shout for others to hear you.
- whenever i check for updates from dell's website it tells me that i have 1 update available which is Intel Management Engine Interface Driver. i download and install it,restart, go to check updates again it tells me that the same driver needs to be updated!
- all other drivers are updated to the latest version and still having issues.
i advise you to wait a month or two before upgrading cuz win 10, for now, is no fun..
