Hi, I've been trying to use my USB Controller on my laptop however its not working. My laptop model is Inspiron 15 3542. In the action center it says 'Install your USB controller driver' which when I googled it brought

downloadcenter.intel.com/download/21129/USB-3-0-Driver-Intel-USB-3-0-eXtensible-Host-Controller-Driver-for-Intel-7-Series-C216-Chipset-Family which I downloaded however the controller still wont work and the same message still appears in the action center. 

When I went to the program detail it brought up this 

Where would I find the correct driver to install for this? I couldnt find any solutions, thanks!

Hi

I made a mistake and upgraded my Dell inspiron 15 from win, 8.1 to win 10. The upgrade went ok but there  is no network adapter.  Device manager shows dell wireless  1705 as  installed and woks fine.  I tried to re install from driver downloaded from Dell site.but hot the  same  result.  I purchased a USB WiFi stick but it would not install correctly.

Any suggestions?

According to Dell is XPS 12 windows 10 compatible
I did install windows 10
I tried to install all recommended updates but still no wifi connection possible 
Windows didn't find wifi network adaptor
adaptor is working fine in system management
Am I forced to downgrade or is there a solution to make windows on my xps 12 9Q33 WW

Hi,

I just bought a new dell inspiron 15R N5521 battery, charging is disabled and system is not identifying the battery in system bios battery is tagged as Non- dell battery.

My dell lappy wont boot i closed the lid 4 days ago and it was working i opened the lid later that day and there were NO SIGNS OF LIFE

I recently sent my laptop into Dell for repairs, and they ended up re-installing my operating system, which of course wiped every program out. I backed my computer up to an external hard drive, but it doesn't seem to have been successful for Microsoft Office.

I purchased my laptop from QVC over a year ago and it included Office, but I don't recall ever getting a disk or anything with it. I searched through my files just in case, but I don't have any disks/paperwork on how to reinstall Office. Am I going to have to repurchase Office or is there something I can do?

Hi.

Can anyone help. New to computing so probable simple answer but problem annoying in extreme.

After a random amount of time on internet I get a message to say internet explorer has stopped working and program will close. It appears as if something switches connection off.

Any ideas or thoughts greatly received

while i was trying to upgrade my os to windows 10 i suddenly start to get system thread exception not handled error and the computer keeps rebooting.  I am trying to start system in safe mode but f8 doesnt work for me. I have run the diagnostic test. Everything seems to be fine and the hd is shown in boot menu. Can you please uelp.me .

I reinstalled Windows 7. Now I can't use my webcam. It recognized my webcam as 'integrated webcam' you can see it in device manager under imaging devices and it says it is working fine and the value is USB video device. My problem is I do not have Dell Webcam Central so I can not open the webcam. I didn't get reinstall discs when I bought my laptop. Also if I go to my dell downloads it only shows Mcafee and Cyberlink Mediasuite. How can I reinstall Dell Webcam Central?

I had this problem in the past but very infrequent, maybe happened twice over several months. Dell tech support removed the check from the System Failure Automatic Restart option saying it was the probable cause. Again my problem is that the unit would appear to shutdown while in sleep mode it was not restarting. I recently updated the BIOS (I was A05 which was the current version on 7/26/2015 and I updated from A04 to A05). I did not have any issues and I normally don't shutdown just close the lid to put it in sleep mode. Powering on the unit seems to take an excessive amount of time before the unit is usable and coming out of sleep mode unit is ready in a second or two. On 7/29/2015 The Dell System detect indicated several driver updates were available and a BIOS update A08. The following is the drivers updated in addition to the Bios update of A05 to A08:

Chipset_Driver_5R99D_WN32_11.0.0.1153_A00.EXE
Chipset_Driver_P79WN_WN32_10.1.1.7_A00.EXE
Serial-ATA_Driver_379P3_WN32_14.5.0.1081_A00.EXE

It was after these updates wee completed that the sleep mode shutdown started up again and frequently. Updates were done on 7/29/2015 around 7PM and the unit was put into sleep mode around 12:5 AM on 8/1/2015 and according to the event logs an unexpected shutdown happened around 1:51 AM. On the same day 8/1/2015 unit was put into sleep mode at 1:23PM and the event log reported an unexpected shutdown at 3:38PM. The only changes that were done that seemed to probably cause the repeating sleep mode problem are the above updates and BIOS change. Has anyone else having this problem?

Hello, I recently received a new laptop from my company (Dell E5450) to replace the E6420 I had that was having hard drive errors and locking up.  I have a docking station and use 2 Dell 2001FP 10" monitors.  Both work fine on my E6420, one connected to the DSub connector on the dock and the other to the DVI connector.  With the new E5450 on the dock, while I can see both monitors in the video properties and multiple monitor configuration, the one connected to the DVI output on the dock will only display a message "2: DVI-D Cannot display this mode".  I've tried all sorts of combinations of resolutions, and switched it to the DSub output and it works there.  The only real difference is that the older laptop was 32bit and this new one is 64.  These are old monitors, could it be a driver issue?

my motherboard fried replaced it with a new one I was running winnow's 7 bios Ao8 now It will not let me load the update because it says the rom chip only has the original bios and I need a copy of windows vista  to update bios I have a dell 1735/37 running Intel core duo t9300 2.50 8GB RAM WI8NDOWS 64 with ati Radeon mobility graphics Also can not find service tag from old motherboard and dell detect cannot find it

My 3 years old laptop lcd screen was broken and i want to replace it with a new one. But one big thing is here in Myanmar I can't find anything such lcd screen like dell xps 14z. Hi ,

  I have updated my laptop to (inspiron 14Z 5423) to windows 10 on july 29 . After upgrading , wifi options and wifi settings didn't show up in the settings menu. I tried to run dell diagnostic tools but  all the results are shown as  "passed" (how could it happen??..) and i thought it might be due to driver issues and tried to re-install the wifi drivers . to my surprise , i couldn't  find any drivers in the dell site and  after performing "detect service tag for driver update."..it says drivers are upto date.

  So .. after complete disappointment .. i rolled back my OS to windows 8.1 and everything worked fine . Again on august 1st...a menu popped  up on my laptop saying ...your laptop  is good to upgrade as  DELL team tested and no sign of any issues..bla bla. I thought may be this time the upgrade may work and updated my OS..and again disappointed to notice that wifi failed to detect in windows 10.So .left  with no option..i tried  "Reset" option in windows 10 for clean install .

  This time wifi worked and i am happy and  "sound" failed to detect. Again ran all those dell diagnostics...all the results show "passed" . Tried to download dell sound drivers.. from dell site but i could not see anything in the site

while running tests in the boot menu ..i have encountered  blue screen error and from then my laptop failed to boot and i could only hear 3 beep sounds ??

Tried resetting the button underneath the latoptop..but no use. Any other 14Z users facing the same issue?
