Hi,

This issue has been around since 2011, when XPS 15 L502x systems came with 525M and 540M graphics cards. For any game, the GPU will fail and create an audio loop, hard freeze and lock up the system. NO IT IS NOT DUE TO OVER HEATING!!!

The prevailing fix is to underclock the card and play with a poor performance. It's been five years and NVIDIA nor DELL has provided any permanent FIX. I'm here again asking for your help as both the companies has left us alone.

So far, this is what I have done:

1. Updated to the latest drivers (NVIDIA, RealTek, Windows and everything)
2. Fresh Installation of Windows 7 (Now, Home Premium)
3. Re-installed, repaired all the games. (Battlefield 3, GTA IV, COD MW3, Battlefield 4)
4. Took it to the service center and replaced heat sink.
5. Bought a laptop cooler (Deepcool N400)
6. Tried different NVIDIA driver versions including the DELL version.

Result: GAMES STILL CRASH AND FREEZE WITH AN AUDIO LOOP

Temporary Fix:

1. Install Nvidia System Tools or MSI Afterburner and Underclock the GPU.

Result: GAMES WORK FINE FOR SOMETIME.

Please guys, I am really desperate and my patience is almost gone. Help me find a fix.

Hello, I have a Dell XPS l502x laptop, but the windows product key on bottom is unreadable.

Currently I installed Ubuntu on my laptop.

Is it possible to get Windows product key from dell support?

Any solution will be appreciated.

Hello,

   I got my new Alienware 15 today, and upgrade the OS to Windows 10 immediately. Everything seemed OK, until I found the computer can not recognize any of my earphones (neither New earpods nor AKG Q460). The only device that can recognize is the speakers, what can I do to solve this problem (without return to windows 8.1)?

Hi

I have purchased the laptop L501X with Wind 7. Consulted the DELL support center to upgrade the system to windows 10 and straight way the comment came was the system will not be applicable for the Windows 10.

When the entire world going for the Windows 10 upgrade.DELL lets down the L501X customers to stay outdated in all the Fields.

May I know where there is customer support here for the L501X.and what we must do  here sit with windows 7 or starring at other systems

Do DELL want us to Sit the L501X users as like people starring at old age computers. Expecting the valid answer from DELL

Hi, 

i'd like to disable my pre boot authentication.

My finger print is working but  I don't habe any passwords. Is there any possibility to change them with my finger print only?

Hello to all!

After installing a SSD-HDD, my Dell ran into a critical problem and switched off. Now it wont boot at all. I already drained the remaining energy by leaving pressed the power button (without battery) for 1 Minute, and even removed the battery of the BIOS. Nothing has helped and the laptop would just turn on to send 3 mid-large beeps. There is neither welcome image nor the logo from dell, so that I can access to the BIOS or to run the selftest from Dell. I dont know what else to do, I would really appreciate any kind of help!

I ran the upgrade to Windows 10, and everything seemed to be working fine, including the touchscreen. I decided to then do a clean install of Windows 10, and now I cannot find the driver for the touchscreen. I know it's the Intel Serial IO driver, but everyone I've tried fails. I've tried running the installer in compatibility mode and that fails as well. Any help on this issue would be much appreciated.

M$ releaded win 10. I checked http://www.dell.com/support/drivers/us/en/04/ServiceTag/ my_service tag but i can't find driver for win 10

I have an inspiron 7110 that I had to reinstall the OS from the thumb drive that Dell sends with a laptop. However, once re-installed the webcam driver continues to show up as an unknown device under the USB driver section.

Device Type: universal serial bus controller

Manufacture: (Standard USB host controller)

Location: Port#0004.HUB_#0003

Device status: (code 43)

1) have tried updating drivers: says 'unknown device' is up to date.

2)Uninstall, scan, comes right back.

3) Scowered the internet for: Dell 7110 webcam drivers or Generic integrated webcam drivers and am constantly see people that direct you to dell: Reinstall drivers.

Problem is that dell DOESN"T HAVE drivers, they simply tell you how to do what I just described doing.

The computer is out of warrantee, so going to dell tech isn't possible.

Just seems like finding webcam drivers shouldn't be this hard, since they come from Dell in the first place.

 

Any help would be appreciated (provided it's not referring me to Dell webcam Central... I need the drivers, not the *** software that needs the drivers)

sir, I have dell latitude 3540 model laptop and have window 8.1 in it .when i go to "network and sharing center in control panel >>and select change adapter setting , Ethernet icon shows red cross marks and showing status "network cable unplugged". When i diagnostics the problem i found massage . An Ethernet cable is not properly plug in or  might be broken.

Actually sir  i tried to use window 8.1 laptop as wifi router and share internet from laptop to mobile by "command prompt(admin) on DOS screen like

netsh wlan hostednetwork mode=allow ssid=name key=password

netsh wlan start hostednetwork .

sir, i have used it many times and after that i got this type of problem. i think my Ethernet cable is broken. please help me to solve my problem.

I have had this issue for a long time now and have been slowing working on it to see if I can see why this is even happening. 

For some reason none of the Dell software is recognizing my Studio as a dell laptop.   Even the backup and recovery app will no long recognize that its a dell laptop.

Quite a while ago I did a bios update and it froze toward the end of it for some reason.  Well I decided I would just leave it like that for the night and went to bed.  When I woke up the next morning, the computer had rebooted and was sitting at log in.  I check the bios version and it did not change.  I re-downloaded the bios file again from Dell from another computer just to make sure it wasn't something corrupting the download on my laptop. 

Same thing happened.  I only let it sit for about an 1.5 hours and then forced a shutdown.  I got into bios and loaded factory settings and tried again.. (Not sure why that would do anything to make it work but tried anyway)  This time it completed and the bios version updated to version A12.

I was thinking it was all golden until a while later when the dell software would no longer work.  I went into the bios and notice that there was no service tag or asset tag in there, not even a product name.  I basically compared my laptop with my wife's laptop which are almost identical except for 3 things.

Since my laptop was out of warranty I decided to do what I could to try and fix this, but have been having some issues.   I was able to get the Product name and Asset Tag back in, but I can not seem to get the Service Tag to stick.

Anyway.  Not sure if Dell even reads the forums, but I figured I would give it a try.

It would be nice to have something to just flash everything back in correctly if at all possible or instructions on what to do.

Any help would be appreciate.

I have an inspiron 5447. dual gpu. amd r7 m265 and intel hd. loading screen doesn't disconnects my internet but when i enter the game the internet is gone and already disconnected. i tried all possible solution but doesn't seem to help.

I have Inspiron 15z. I have been facing blue screen error for a while therefore i planned on doing factory reset. However I had not created any restore point earlier and theres a possibilty i might have deleted all restore points. Now when i go to recovery option and try for factory settings my laptop pops up with information to put in installation media, however windows 8 had came preinstalled in my system so I dont have any disc. Is there any possible way to format my laptop and get rid of this blue screen error.

Previously on Windows 7 the Bluetooth worked fine, but as I updated my Windows 10 from Windows 7 there is no option or not a single hint of Bluetooth in my inspiron N5010. Please provide me the link of compatible driver for this.

I have downloaded the Bluetooth driver for this laptop from dell drivers and run it as compatible for Windows 7, but it also didn't work.

Hello

I have a dell e6410 that came with a german keyboard. I have been rebuilding a number of the e6410 and replacing them with US keyboards. 

I replaced this with a keyboard 0UK717 - i saw that this is the replacement keyboard on a number of sites. the number keys 0-9 work but only t y g h b n keys work. none of the others work. 

There was just one time the rest of the keys work. I had 3 of these replacement keyboards but none of them seem to work - 

The keyboard 0UK723 works fine - the only difference in these was that the 717 has 4 extra connectors on the extreme left of the ribbon. 

Could anyone be in a position to explain if the 717 can be used on the e6410 or do I need to get the other 0uk723.. 

im a bit confused because the 717 worked very briefly just once! 

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

need help in troubleshooting this error.

i already tried refreshing option in windows 8.1. tried system restore but i cannot find any restore points.already ran the sfc scan but it says a scan is pending and that it needs to be restarted. and when i restarted my laptop i am back to square 1.
