XPS 13 - Bose Sound link issues
I can connect to my bose sound link via Bluetooth without a problem, however I cannot play any music. I have updated the Bluetooth driver but this has not worked, I can play from other devices it's just the XPS 13 that's not working. I have been told by Bose that the problem is an OS driver issue but I am stumped at how to resolve this - any suggestions greatly appreciated.

Inspiron 3721 - won't startup with one beep
Hello. My inspiron 3721 cannot startup and there is one beep every 3 seconds. I try to remove the CMOS battery and to get factory settings to the BIOS but it didn't help. when I get the beep I turn off the computer and turn on again and sometimes the startup works. but most of the time I get the beep and the startup failure.. any suggestions? It's makes me crazy :(

My Inspiron 15 laptop has trouble turning on?
It bought it an year ago and it worked perfectly but recently it is very hard to turn on. It becomes completely dead some times and doesn't even indicate that it's on charging. I have to press the power button several times or wait for several hours before it finally turns on, but then it works just fine. I diagnosed the hardware using the dell diagnostic tools and passes all the tests. What can be possibly wrong? The power button is fine too because it works when the laptop is on.

Dell inspiron 17r 5720 bios chip location
Hi everyone im new to this blog but if anyone can help me I'd appreciate it. I bought a second hand laptop but I later noticed that it's bios locked so I took it apart nd im trying to locate the bios chip/cmos so I can jump it since I already took the cmos battery out for fivr minutes and that didn't fix anything so im stuck here trying to figure out were the chip id. Difficulty with hinge
I have a Dell inspiron 15 3521. When I was trying to insert the dvd drive back in I noticed that there was an obstruction. So I disassembled the PC and encountered this. Is there anyway I can fix this or do I have to buy a replacement?

Inspiron 15 5000 i7 Extremely Slow
Just purchased an Inspiron 15 5000 with 5th gen i7 processor, 8GB of RAM & running Windows 7 64 bit.
I loaded only one of our applications and I'm amazed at how incredibly slow this machine is. On a three year old i5 machine, the app opens in under 15 seconds. On this PC, it's just under 50 seconds.
If I close the app and start it again, it's open in less than 3 seconds.
Paint takes 10 seconds to load. IE11 takes so long that I think I didn't click the icon on the task bar.
I've disabled Intel Speedstep and didn't see any improvement.
No other applications are loaded, including no antivirus.
Any suggestions?

Dell e6520 not turning on after...
Hi
I have a dell e6520 without optimus, I was using it without a battery for several months mostly, recently i didnt used battery for like 3 days and when i turned it on it turns on (boot up) and sudenly black out.
After some time when I started it up only power and capslock light turns for 15 seconds...
Rams are fine, hdd is fine, cpu is fine. I tried many methods to turn it on.
I show it to some technician he says maybe its because of electricity fluctuation, I gave him for repairing. Now he says its a water demage, I am *** sure water didnt touched it...
Can any one help me with this. Please

Dell XPS 13 (9343) Touch screen vs Non Touch Screen for Glare
I am looking to purchase the Newest Dell XPS 13.
i am worried about glare and reflections on the screen whenusing the laptop outside or near glass windows.
Does the touch screen version suffer from glare or reflections ?
Does the Non Touch screen version cope any better from glare or reflections ?
Is there any where in thr UK i could view either of both versions of the XPS 13 ?

XPS 13 touch screen scrolling keeps zooming in
Hi,
I have a new XPS 13 but one thing is really bugging me.
Whenever I am scrolling with the touch screen, with just one finger, after a few scrolls it keeps zooming in the screen. I could understand if I was using two fingers and it mistook it for pinch to zoom but this is just flicking with one finger or a thumb.
Anyway to fix or disable this?

WINDOWS 8.1 single language key problem

pls help me I have a dell inspirion 15z 5523.. I downloaded and created a recovery media for windows 8.1 single language and then I decided to reformat may laptop and use the recovery media I've created, now the problem is that my laptop does not accept the activation key for windows 8.1 because of that I cannot personalize my laptop. what should I do? I want to bring it back to windows 8 but I cant find a recovery media for windows 8. maybe the problem is that I should have created a recovery media for windows 8.1 instead of windows 8.1 single language? am I right? please help.. thank you

Hard drive cloning and O/S issue
Hello everyone,
I am having to replace a failing hard drive on my XPS M140 laptop and my intentions are to use cloning software and a USB to SATA adapter cable. The problem is , I don't know if the old drive will last long enough to do the clone. The computer usually blue screens after 5-10 min's.
I know very little about O/S licensing and product keys so hopefully someone can help answer this question. I am running XP on this laptop and I need to keep XP due to some older two way radio programming software that will just not work with Win 7. This computer did not come with the re-install disks but I am running the same version of XP on my desktop on a second hard drive. Most of the other software on that drive is identical to the software on the laptop. Can I clone the desktop XP drive to the new laptop drive and use the product key that came with the laptop?

Inspiron 14z SSD/HDD system - HDD failure
Hi - I was hoping someone could help me. I have an Inspiron 14z (5423, Mid 2012) where the HDD failed. This system has both a SSD and HDD. I've installed a replacement HDD but I am getting an 'internal disk not found' error. Unfortunately recovery media was not prepared for this system - hard lesson learned. Is the operating system and drivers installed only on the SDD? If needed, I was hoping I could download the factory installed software using my service tag, but only see and option to download drivers. Any suggestions would be appreciated!

Dock not working as expected
I have a Latitude E7450. I got an E-port Plus II - Pro 2X docking station that I am trying to set up. This is the first time I've used a dock. There are several things that are not working or at least not the way I expected them to. Below is a list of features I expected to work but do not. Could someone please tell me if the dock is not working properly or if there is some configuration I must do to get it working. Thanks!
- The display on my monitor shuts down as soon as I close the lid. I've set the power settings so that, when plugged in, it should "Do Nothing." [I still want it to sleep when I close the lid and it is not in the dock.]
- The display on the laptop is set to 1920 x 1080. This is the same res that my monitor is set to when it is connected to my stand alone PC. However, when using the laptop in the dock, the screen on the monitor is much larger and much less fits on the screen than it does on the laptop. How do I correct this?
- The dock is NOT charging my laptop. It still says it is running on battery.
- I have an Ethernet cable plugged into the dock, but when docked, the laptop is still using Wi-Fi. I was under the impression that it would switch to Ethernet when docked. Is there a setting I need to change?
