My machine doesn't boot and some service center said that my laptop has a motherboard problem. When I tried to recover my files from my hard drive, the drive is not detected or just showing "0.0GB". I have a BIOS and hardisk password on my inspiron before it broke. Does the password in hard drive still active that's why I can't access it in another machine?

Inspiron N5110 turns on itself on battery only
My Dell Inspiron N5110 keeps turning itself on but only when there's no charger connected.
This ONLY happens when the battery is in but the power supply DISCONNECTED. With the power connected it stays off.
If I shut it down when on battery only it waits a few seconds and then switches back on again.
Weird much?

Bsod with different error codes/reasons
My dell xps 15z, almost 4 years old, suddenly gives me this blue screen of death while using it, sometimes it comes even before windows finish booting and then it restarts, this started a week ago but then it used to happen once/twice in a day, but since yesterday its quite often, the computer gives bsod within 10-15 mins of booting, all dell hardware diagnosis tests pass. And also its not possible to install another copy to windows because the blue screen appers even while trying to install new windows. And the bsod give different errors everytime, I've just attached one of them.

[Q] is it possible to replace QHD+(i.e. 3200x1800) display with 4K?
Dear expert,
I am Yeongmoon Son using XPS 15 QHD+. Unfortunately, I found out that XPS 15 UHD has been released.
I compared my laptop with the new laptop in the specification perspective. Finally, I am guessing that they are the same except screen resolution.
Now, I am wondering if QHD+ could be replaced with4K without hardware modification (i.e. firmware change or additional wiring) when I order and get the parts of 4K LCD screen . Is there anyone who tried to replace it? If then, What was problem?
I would appreciate if you give me any hint or clue for it.

Beeps at startup
For some time now everytime i turn on my laptop it will continuously beep and the monitor will stay black. Even the backlight doesnt come on. Just today i tried to turn on my laptop and now it just always does the beeping. I have looked at many forums and none of them are working. When i get home today i was going to test it with an external monitor to see if the display is the issue amd see if i cant fix it. My warranty has run out a long time ago so there is no help there. I probably got the latop 2-3 years ago. Please help

yesterday i shutdown my laptop normally . and now trying to start it and nthing happen
NOTES FOUND ::::
1-Not working with battery(full charged) or AC charger
2-Ac charger led is turning on normally
3-NO BEEPS
4-Only the first left led of laptop is working (power led Even when charger is connected)
5-Screen don't turn on !!!!!!!!!!!
6-AC charger led dont turn off when i press power button it is just working well as before !!
7-NOT IN WARRANTY
I TRIED :::
1-Connecting each power source separately -->no change
2-Disconnecting any power source and pressing power button for 30sec -->no change
3-Replacing rams and HDD --->no change

Dell Studio 1555: replace Mainboard (downgrade)
Hi.
I have a Dell Studio 1555 (ATI mobility Radeon 4570) which doesn't start beeping six times.
As far as I've read, it means that I have to replace the main board because the graphics chipset.
Is is possible to replace with the intel graphics model? Is cheaper and I don't realy need the ATI card.

Insprion Laptop N55110 Windows 7 to 8.1?
I have a Dell Inspiron N5110 (Service Tag <ADMIN NOTE: Service tag removed per privacy policy>). It came with Windows 7.x. The hard drive went bad a few months ago, so I replaced it with one around 750GB and the faster speed than the original one. When the hard drive was replaced, I also installed Windows 8.1.
The computer works great, boots over and over and I let it run for hours while I’m away. BUT – when I connect to the internet, it stills works great. UNTIL about 5 minutes later. The monitor does blank and it beeps, nothing on the keyboard works. Therefore, I have to crash the system by power. When it will no longer boot. I have to reinstall the os (8.1) and this repeats itself!
If something is not compatible, then why does it run great even for 5 minutes on the net?
What is wrong?
If I need to go back to Windows 7, how do I get the OS? I don’t have the setup disk. As I recall, it didn’t come with one!

How to Disable Venue 11 touch pad Pinch Zoom
The Venue 11 Pro keyboard uses a 'generic' mouse driver with no settings for "Pinch Zoom". It is terribly irritating and needs to be able to be disabled.

AC Power Adapter Issue

I have a Dell Inspiron N5110 laptop
I have been receiving the following error message upon boot up:
AC power adapter wattage & type cannot be determined.
The battery may not charge.
The system will adjust the performance to match the power available.
Please connect a Dell 65W AC adapter or greater for the best system performance.
Strike F3 if you do not wish to see power warning.
Strike F1 to continue.
I have not changed anything and I am using the power adapter that came with the laptop.
I tried unplugging and plugging back in and it is not charging...says 92% available (plugged in, not charging)

Inspiron 14 (5423 or 1470, not near me but both numbers are written down)
My power cord/battery charger is lost. I have the wall part and blue lit box, but the other end has some how gone missing. I plug it in, doesn't go in all the way, then gives an error message. So I'd like to buy a new one. I checked this site and can't find the full cord. I need it as my laptop is dead. Where is the link on this site for the recharger cord?

Laptop graphic issue
Hi there. I'm posting this on behalf of a friend. They have an Alienware (I believe M17x) and have been having problems with it for a long time now. There are multiple issues.
For starters, the sleep and hibernate options are greyed out. I tried turning them on through command prompt, but it says because VgaSave is installed I cannot enable hibernate/sleep.
Also, I cannot start the computer properly (the Windows logo during startup appears, but afterwards it's just a black screen; the startup sound occurs during the this process, so it's all starting it's just not being displayed). The only way I can start it is by running it in safe mode. In safe mode I can disable the Intel graphics driver, which allows me to then restart and run it in the normal mode (then there's the issue of sleep/hibernate being greyed out).
Both the Intel and NVIDIA drivers are apparently up-to-date.

What is the best option do to for Dell Inspiron N5050 laptop
I have a dell Inspiron N5050 Laptop. In that as there are some issues like hardisk ,Heating ,Air vents are slightly damaged. Windows OS got corrupted.
Now what do I do to solve the above problem. Yesterday I had taken it to the dell service centre and they told to first backup the data but the problem is I simply cannot backup as the optical drive is not working.
I also don't know how to backup the data using and Optical drive even if get a Optical drive.
When I asked the person there he said to remove the hard disk and use the SATA casing and then you can use it as an external drive and then take backup . But the problem is I do not know how to open the computer and the manual here is difficult to follow.
I am unable to purchase the Philips screw driver, plastic scribe in my area. Online there are many screw drivers but not mentioned is whether they are the Philips screw driver or the tradional one's.
The problem with the Dell service centre is that I have to have a backup and they only I would be able to that they will take 2 days for some name sake diagnostics and if spare's available then it would be replaced else if not may also take 2-3 months and if I call the technician home they will only rectify the hardware issues(if spare parts required that will cost additional and are limited with availability ) i.e it may take 3-4 days for spare to arrive and 2 days for the technician to arrive.
For the Windows issue although I am able to update the Windows update daily, update the Microsoft security essentials and still the Windows is not genuine.(Infact had installed the updates for Windows 7 on 20th July 2015).So if the Windows is not Genuine then How am I able to install the updates.Had spoken with Microsoft team and they said that it's the manufacture who can help with this.
So How can I make my laptop cooler and back to normal without any defects.

Dell inspiron 11 3000 series

I bought this laptop last month. It was working fine initially, but now I have observed a very strange thing which seems to be related to touch. Many times the touch screen works uncontrollably itself, like some ghost is operating my laptop. In this situation I can not work the way I want. I can see the the touch points on the screen which moves throughout the whole screen uncontrollably. Please suggest the possible solution for this.

Computer Issue Driving Me Up a Wall
Ello all, I'm having a bit of an issue with my computer. I apologize if this is the wrong board for me to post on, so if I need to move the post, please let me know. It is much appreciated.
Anyway, I'm having an issue with my computer, and I can't seem to figure out what's wrong with it. What will happen is that I'll watch a video (either on Twitch.tv, YouTube, or even Amazon.com) on Google Chrome and everything will be fine. However, after anywhere from 45 minutes to about 2 hours, my CPU usage will spike to 100% (or near 100%) and my computer will lag severely, even after I close the video and web-browser. The only thing that seems to fix this lag is restarting the computer itself via a soft or hard restart.
Things I've done to try to fix this:
-Watched Videos in Firefox (still lagged)
-Uninstalled and re-installed Google Chrome (no effect)
-Disabled built-in Adobe Flash and installed Stand-Alone Flash (no effect)
-Ran AntiX on external hard drive (still had lag)
-Disabled hardware acceleration (No effect)
I strongly believe it is a hardware issue, although I've ran a diagnostic check and nothing was detected, minus an error code saying the Optical Drive couldn't be read. The thing is, my CD-DVD drive is still able to read and write CDs, so perhaps that's relevant. Probably not.
The computer I have is a Dell Inspiron 1564, which I've owned since May of 2010. I have changed out the hard drive and motherboard once, as well as the built-in keyboard, monitor display, and fan with heat-sink. I want to say it's either the CPU or possibly memory, but I'm not sure. If you want a list of specs, let me know (and how to get it, if you don't mind...I don't do this too often), and I'll post them.
