My dell's xps 13 wifi works good, but connection speed with AC router is too slow (I have AC routers Netgear R7000 and Linksys EA6300). Dell xps 13 5Ghz band max connection speed is only 270Mbs.. Dell's wifi card works as simple dual band wifi card, but not AC.. Other my devices with AC wifi connects to router with 866Mbs speed. Why?

Charging issue
i have a problem with my power, when some times (not always) i plug in, the CPU fan turn on automatically and the power LED blinks showing some kind of error. when i turn on the system with the power switch or from a sleep mode the down arrow key is pressed automatically is that a mother board issue can i solve it from my home

very loose USB port on a brand new dell inspiron 14 3443
Hello I bought a brand new dell inspiron 14 3443 sometime this June and recently I noticed that the usb ports are very loose as if you are using an old laptop. I am wondering if this is normal or did the vendor sold me an old or used laptop. I am hoping that you can enlighten me regarding this matter.

Admin password set on Dell Precision M4600 BIOS
I purchased a second hand Dell Precision M4600 Workstation recently.
But unfortunately I discovered the previous owner setup an Admin password in the BIOS.
My question, is there any way of removing the password or resetting the BIOS, that won't cost me anything or if it does cost, the cost will be minimal.

Resetting a Dell Latitude
Hi Guys.
A family member is going to give me their Dell Latitude (i believe it's Windows 8).
Seen as though this will be my Laptop I'm wanting to know the best way to go about putting the credentials in my name.
Would it be best just to factory reset the Laptop and then re-instal the OS and MSO, would this then allow me to use my details to setup the Laptop or would it be still registered to the family member?

USB Ports on Latitude E7250

Just taken a delivery of a new Lat E7250 but am unable to connect a USB mouse (either cord or cordless) in any of the three ports. Could it be that the USB drivers have been deleted?
Does anyone have advice on how I can fix this?

XPS 11 won't start with AC power plugged in
Bought new XPS 11 from Amazon shipped to Chile (with no international warranty, only US, so that I cannot use local Dell service for free). After 40 days the following started to occur:
The unit won't start with the AC power cord plugged in.
With the ac power unplugged it starts normally. When started, plugging AC power charges the battery normally. Within 5 seconds or less from the moment the AC power cord is plugged in it still can be started. After 10 seconds, it fails to start. Specifically, while the LED light on the power button itself stays on while I PRESS the button -- it goes off the very instant when I RELEASE the power button. Nothing happens then, no fan, black screen.
With the ac power unplugged, I can press and hold the power button, then insert the power cord while holding the power button down, then release the power button -- this starts the unit normally.
The pre-boot diagnostic tests are all passed with no errors.
The BIOS (A2) has been re-flashed.
The AC adapter status shows 45W in the BIOS. The battery shows healthy in the BIOS.
Chat with 3 different reps still doesn't reveal the truth as to what's happened.
Anyone please help.

Dell XPS L702X Broken Left Hinge
So I have a broken hinge on my XPS L702X (off warrany) - from my google-fu, I see that the left hinge is pretty poor quality on Dell laptops by the many posts over the years. I had a Studio 17 before this one that had the same problem.
So I call dell parts to get the $5.00 hinge shipped out to me, but am informed that not only can I not get a hinge shipped, I cannot get Dell to come out and service it - I need to ship the laptop to their service center and wait god know how long to get it back.
Dell - are you crazy? For A $5.00 hinge, you lost a customer - I have bought many desktops, workstations and laptops over the years, but I am done with you. Since I need something now, I just ordered: apple.com/ca/shop/buy-mac/macbook-pro
It is easy for a customer to change brand loyalty for little things - not sure how easy it is for you to attract loyal customers.

Dell XPS 12 shuts off when Unplugged
I have a Dell XPS 12 laptop that is 2 years old. Even though the laptop reports that the battery is 100% charged, the laptop will shut down instantly if I remove the power cord. It also will not start up if I try to turn it on without the power cord. What can I try to do to fix this problem?

Dell Inspiron 1721 (Mid 2007) Model: PP22X will not boot.
hi all, thanks for the help in advance.
i have a Dell Inspiron 1721 (Mid 2007) Model: PP22X running win7 that will not boot. it was working fine a week ago, powered it down after using it. went to power it up a couple of day ago and it will not boot. hit the power button, hear the fan start, the caplock indicator starts blinking, hear the dvd drive get tested, can not tell if the hard drive spins up, no flicker on the screen (nothing at all, not bootpost). after 45 blinks of the caplock indicator it shuts itself off. i have tapped/held every key i can think of (delete, f8, f11, f10, f1, f2), reseated the ram, the hard drive, removed and replaced the battery, and still nothing.
i am open for any suggestions.
i was wrong. it is the hard drive spinning up that i hear, not the heatsink fan. the fan does not start.

Inspiron 17 5000 Touchpad Left Click Problems
I have had this new laptop since April 2015. The touchpad is all one piece, not separate buttons. The left "button" seems soft to the touch. When I want to open drop-down list, it will not stay open. I need to click several times until it works. If I want to highlight text on a Word Document or a Web Page, the Left Click works sporadically. Sometimes just a word highlights, or it will highlight smoothly and just drop part of the text, or when I let go to right click Copy all the highlighting is lost. The left button seems like it does not connect for simple things like moving the cursor in a document or clicking on a tab.
Any ideas? I have gone to Control Panel Touchpad and tried but I'm not sure what to do. It tires me out.

Ispiron 17 5000 series: battery falling out
I bought the Ispiron 17 5000 series about a year ago or so, and have had 0 problems out of it. Until today. My battery keeps falling out, even with the latches locked in. Is there a part or something I need to buy to fix this?

Inspiron D17R N7010 GPU memory failed, should I upgrade main memory?
I was loading a web page that had a picture. The ares where the picture was loading changed to horizontal colored lines, then the system shut down. On reboot I got the 5 beeps that says the LCD is bad. I replaced the LCD but on boot the screen first flashed horizontal lines of red dots, then vertical columns of white dots, then blue screen (related to ATI video). The system would only run in safe mode. To make a very long story short, I re-replaced the LCD and I have replaced the video cable. Same problems. With any AMD ATI drivers installed I get the blue screen. Removing all AMD ATI software and drivers the system will still run in VGA mode but oh so very, very slow. Even just booting seems to take many times longer. Power on to lock screen is 3 minutes and 3 seconds. Sometimes I can see the screen painting from the top going down just using Firefox. This is with a Ready Boost USB flash drive which seems to help overall performance at least slightly. I upgraded to a 2 tb hard drive several months ago (lots of pictures and videos) with indexing turned off. I use the system mostly for Internet, Word, and Excel.
Running the system test (using the function key during boot) the test for reading and writing video memory fails every time. During the test I also get the red and white dots on many test screens and there are two groups of vertical blurred areas, each about 4 inches wide, that are visible on some screens between tests (I never see this running the system in VGA mode).
The processor is an I5-450M, 2.4, 3MB, Arrandale, K0 4PG9N. The system has 2gb of memory running Windows 7 Home. Max configurable is 8 gb. I would like to use the system for 6 to 10 months and then give it to one of my grandchildren. So two questions.
If I upgrade to 8 gb memory, will it noticeably help the overall performance?
Should I upgrade to Windows 10 (non-touch system of course) in hopes Windows10 will run faster?

BIOS Core Voltage Mode Un-changeable + General Performance Issues
Hi,
I have had my Alienware 17 for some time now, and let me specify that it is a laptop.
Recently, I have noticed that the option to change the core voltage mode in the BIOS has been "greyed out" as they say.
Additionally, I have been recently experiencing performance issues in only mildly intensive video games, and I am frustrated by my capable system's inability to properly perform. I am hereby seeking general advice and expository "anecdotes" so to speak that may assist me on a broad scale, which of course is the nature of my difficulty.

M Dell Inspiron 3543 restarting automatically.
my laptop restarting automatically after windows logo came turn in blue screen testing memory. it restarting over and over.
it completed diagnostic test but is showing no problem in my machine. then i reinstall my windows 7 ultimate again with complete format data. after installation same problem is repeating.
then i try to open in safe mode.
what is the problem. problem with my laptop or in my os?

Dell supportassist crashes on startup
My PC is a Dell XPS 13 Signature edition and it had come with "My Dell" installed which was not crashing.Now it updated to Supportassist and it crashes every time it starts.I already tried uninstalling and reinstalling..Any help is appreciated
