Laptop booting issue
Recently I had some issue with my Inspiron 7720 17r SE that required my motherboard to be replaced.
Anyway, after installing Windows 8 again on my laptop, booting time is extremely longer and for the first minutes the system is very laggy.
Other than that it works fine. I don't know where or what to change because I didn't replace the motherboard by myself: in fact a technician did that.
I suppose he changed some BIOS settings but I'm not sure.

Inspiron 14R Touch - Display remains dead
I very recently bought this laptop. The power scheme by default is Dell. The display many times does not come up again if it is shut by the power
scheme or the laptop goes to sleep mode as per the power scheme. No key stroke, mouse movement or anything works. The power button / wireless indicators keep blinking/on but the display remains dead. I have to force shut the laptop and restart. Need help

Sony Optical device swich -- Dell XPS 17

i was looking for a BluRay-RW which can replace my old Sony DVD-RW device!
The model number of the dvd rom is AD-7717H, considering that i will order the new blyray rom online i just dont wanna risk to buy something that i cant use in future!
I was searching in the web but found nothing for compatable blu ray rom for my laptop, so i hope that someone more knowledge then me can help me with this task.

Power problem
I have replaced the LCD screen of my Dell Studio 1555.
After I have installed the new screen, I have replace the battery in place and plugged the power cord, the power light flashed 4 times red and 1 time white, it did it for a few times. Then, I pressed the power button and nothing happened except that the blue light on the power cord shut down. I have to unplug it from the outlet to see it back on.
The Laptop seems to be dead and the light of the power button (the circle light) seems to be dead...
I tried to boot with and without the battery.

Random Shutdown

Screen resolution on XPS17 reverts to 600x480 resolution every reboot.
I have an XPS 17. Every time it reboots, the display resolution reverts to 600 x 480. I change it to 1600x900, apply etc and it reverts every time. I'm thinking of restoring factory settings in the hope that this will also reinstate Dell Webcam Central which has disappeared (I have reinstalled, been through all troubleshooting I can find) - any thoughts/help much appreciated?

Inspiron 1546 wont boot. 7 beep Error code.
A few months ago my Inspiron 1546 started hanging in the Dell boot screen. This progressed to it freezing in that screen and eventually just turning itself off after 5 or so minutes. It would always eventually boot though, just took a few tries, until a couple weeks ago it stopped booting altogether. If I power it on, the fan goes, and the optical drive is reading, but I get no picture, and it just turns itself off. If I boot with FN+Power I get a 7 beep error code. I tried troubleshooting by: exhausting flea power, removing peripheral devices including checking RAM sticks one at a time, booting with no battery and just the power cord, resetting the CMOS battery, and connecting to an external monitor (I have seen people suggest this...).
I let the laptop sit for a couple weeks as I was busy, and yesterday got it back out again to try to figure out what's wrong. This time I booted it like normal and got the same black screen and then power off. However, this time when I FN+Power booted, it loaded diagnostics, and when they were finished everything checked out, and it asked for the HD, which I installed and then booted the computer like normal. I used the computer for about 8 hours, and ran some diagnostics and during that time everything was 100% fine. The battery was dead when it powered on and it recharged fully while I used the laptop. I restarted it and it again booted like normal. After I shut it down and came back the next morning, I got the black screen and 7 beeps again from FN+Power.
I am at a loss for what is wrong with the laptop. I am out of warranty, but I am looking for advice on something to try next. I know the 7 beep error code signifies bad CPU, but it seems odd that it boots fine and the CPU tested excellent. Maybe it had something to do with the dead battery or AC power on the board? Any input would be greatly appreciated.

Dell System Detect Installs but wont launch

I am working on an inspiron N4110. I need to update drivers and my BIOS.
I have installed the Dell System Detect application twice and it installs correctly and I ahve the icon in my system tray but the application never launches.
I have uninstalled and re-installed and came to the same error. How do I get this to work as I would really like to update my system.

setup error no language configured
I am trying to install a game (EXCOM enemy unknown) from DVD on my new Alienware MX14x R2. Immediately after selecting setup from the autorun for the DVD, I get setup error dialogue box that says "no language configured."
I have seen many posts about this on other websites with a variety of games. But, so far nobody has a solution.
Anybody on here know what to do?

the laptop is working but not charging only orange LED blinking so what should i do?
its new i only used it for like a week! a friend told me leave it plugged in for like 4 hours and it should be back on charging but i want to make sure.

Inspiron 15 3521 Has very annoying keys and space bar.
I have had it for a couple weeks now and it is very touch and go with the key responses, especially the space bar. I am a fairly quick typer but I still need to stare at the keyboard. when I look up, random words are stuck together becauseof the problem. See what I mean? I have some prettyheavy keystrokes but still have problems with missing letters and finding the sweet spot of the space bar. I have enrolled in online university and have tons of papers to write. I cannot handle it. What can be done? It doesn't feel like a sensitivity issue because I will press the space bar at one point and it wont work, move over a 1/2" and it works.

INSPIRON N5050 Windows 7 Laptop does not turn on. Power adapter is working.
My INSPIRON N5050 Windows 7 laptop has all of a sudden ceased to turn on. Before I went to bed, I unfortunately left the laptop on my carpet floor near my bed. I closed the laptop, usually the laptop would go into a type of sleep mode where it would conserve energy. The laptop was not plugged in with the adapter at this time. Today I plugged in the adapter and the laptop did not turn on when I pressed the power button. The entire laptop was cold.
The power adapter looks to be working, the green light is still on, even when I plugged it into the laptop. I've tried multiple sockets in my house to see if there's any difference,there isn't.
I read online about a trick where you take out the battery, take out the adapter, and any other devices, press the power button for 30 seconds, then plug in the adapter, that it might turn on the laptop. I've tried that multiple times, it did not work. I've even tried it once by plugging in the adapter and the battery, still did not work.
No matter how much I press the power button, there is no indication that there's anything working in the laptop. No fan movements, no sounds, no light pops up on the keyboard when I press capslock, absolutely nothing.
I don't think I got a warranty, might just get a new laptop, although I would love it if someone has any ideas as the nature of the problem, and if it's easily fixable, thanks in advance.

My Dell Inspiron N7110 wont't turn on.
My Dell Inspiron N7110 won't turn on. I already tried taking out the battery and then holding down the power button and then reconnecting the charger and then pressing the power button and f9, it didnt work. When I try to turn it on, none of the lights are on on the computer. the charger light is on though. my computer is not that old. bought it in november of 2011. thanks for the help

connecting my laptop to a projector
