I purchased Dell Laptop 5520 INSPIRON during July 2012. Now the wireless is not functioning properly.
Every time i used to disable and enable and by doing , some times internet is working . Is there any problem with network adapter. I am able to work with wired network. Pl help

I recently bought a Dell Inspiron 15 notebook. From the very first day I noticed erratic behaviour of the Touchpad. Cursor movement is not smooth and sometimes it jumps when I move my finger. I try following the Dell support page instructions but it doesn't help.
Also I cannot open the Dell Touchpad settings in the Control Panel.
I received a Dell Latitude E7440 as a work laptop a few months ago and have never had a problem. The battery ran out, however, and I was on vacation and simply forgot to charge it. When I returned and attempted to charge it, it now won't turn on. The light on the charger lights up when plugged in, and the little light that is a battery with a lightening bolt temporarily flashes when the charger is plugged in. I was able to plug my charger into another Dell laptop, and it worked so that doesn't seem to be the problem. Any help or suggestions would be appreciated!
I could'nt upgrade memories in my Studio 1458 (early 2010). I tried to replace two 2Gb RAM memories by two 4Gb Kingston KVR13S9S8/4 (1333MHz). Although the BIOS recognized them, it was impossible loading Windows 7.

Just received my Dell Inspiron 15 5000 (5558) yesterday and I'm thinking of upgrading the Hard Drive to an SSD and wonder what problems if any I would encounter?
Any Bios Settings to change?
The SSD will have a smaller capacity than the 1gb HDD it came with.
I would prefer to use the current Licenced version of Windows 8.1 that’s already installed on the Hard Drive that came with the laptop, I know there's cloning software out there but would prefer a clean install. I've made the Dell recovery media using a USB stick would this be all I need to reinstall Windows 8.1 on the SSD?

I have a Latitude E7450 running Ubuntu 15.04. When I connect an external display to it (either a beamer via the Displayport to VGA adapter or a Computer screen via DVI through the dock) the X system freezes. I can kill the session from a terminal (the terminal is displayed fine), log back in and again X windows freezes after a short moment of negotiating screen resolutions.
At some point it helped to quickly run
xrandr --output DP2 --mode 1024x768
before the freeze, then kill the session and logging back in. But when I tried this on a different beamer, the problem persisted. So I assume the issue has to do with determining the right resolution of the external device.
My workaround at the moment is to use my old laptop, but that is not what I bought the adapter and the dock for.
XPS Laptop was plugged in and the power cord exploded, yes exploded, separating the plug from the cord. Laptop shut down and it might be toast also. I read one of Dell's recommendations of replacing the mother board....yeah, I'll get right to that., The solution is to never buy Dell again. I know this problem has been around for years with Dell and as far as I know they never offered to fix the problem for out of warranty products. Hard drive failures, fan failures, keyboard failures, power cord failures...thanks Dell. Never purchasing another one. 
I will be traveling for few weeks and will be taking my laptop (Inspiron 17R). I am used to dual monitor set up in office. From http://en.community.dell.com/support-forums/laptop/f/3519/t/19387521 I understand if I had a NVidia or another graphic card, this was possible. But, mine just has the default Intel HD graphic card.
1. Can my Intel HD graphic card support dual monitors?
2. If so, which monitors would it support? Can most Dell/HP monitors work with it? My Inspiron 17R has a HDMI port only.
3. If not, how difficult it is to upgrade the graphic card? I am wondering if it is worth it for few weeks of travel.
Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Hello, I own a Dell Precision M6800 laptop and I have noticed that every time i turn the system on, or exit the BIOS, or when I restart the OS, there is a BIOS Power Events log entry with the message " Power On - Not applicable" and that's it, no additional error code.
The message sounds to me like a problem, should I be worried about this? could this be some defective hardware? I have ran the ePSA diagnostics and everything checks out ok, but it could be missing something since the log entry is exactly at the time of the power on before you can run the ePSA. I'm guessing that at the time of the POST checkup there might be something wrong.
Did anyone else encounter this BIOS log entry?
I would like to have a backlit keyboard in my Latitude E7440.
Can I just order the spare part (TV6P8) and it works or do I need a cable or something?

So far, I've tried two different Broadcom WiFi cards, and the computer still drops in an out of connection.
Question, can I use an intel Centrino Ultimate N 6300? Or something along those lines?

Whenever I try to do either of those things, it says that "it looks like something didnt load correctly restarting might fix the problem"
It never fixed the problem.
Is there any way to fix this issue?
My warranty unfortunately ran out and all I need is a factory reset.

While installing the XPS13 for the first time I selected to create a recovery usb flash drive. The dell application crashed.
I could still use the computer and updated from the included repositories.
Afterwards I was able to create a usb recovery drive but while booting from this drive (to test that it is working flawlessly) I select 'dell recovery' and after a while I get stuck with :
(initramfs) Unable to find a medium containing a live filesystem
What's up Dell ? Are you not testing your own software ? Crash on using the tool in the first place and the resulting image is not working.

I bought refurbishid dell xps 15 9530 about 5 months ago from ebay and shipped to iraq where i live. The device worked very good until yesterday where turnoff suddenly without any heat issues. When tried to turn on again there is no response. The problem i noticed that the charger unpluged from device and repower on the led of charger is work ok but when i pluged to laptop the led of charger turnoff and not work also. I tried all the solutions found in youtube and google but not work. The real problem is i live in iraq and there is no maintenance center for dell in iraq. Please i want solution.
I am an electronics hobbyist. I was trying to make my own portable laptop charger.
But I didn't understood working of the Central SMART pin of the charger. Does smart pin has anything to do with the current drawn from the charger.
When I plugin my portable charger the laptop is showing that its charging but it is not drawing current from the charger(Current drawn is less than 0.1A).
I am using a Dell Inspiron 15R laptop.
Can anyone help me out with this issue.

Trying to start up a Dell 1737. Battery seems to charge, and the indicator light comes on.
Mute button lights up 28 times, volume up and down stay solid.
