Im trying to download the latest BIOS from Dell for the Latitude E6410 but each time I download it and try to open it/extract it, it says it is corrupted or it crashes.

Can someone help out?

XPS 12 (9Q33, Mid 2013) Screen Burn-in

I know there has already been other posts regarding the screen burn-in problem, although PCworld, has claimed that the screen can be replaced for customer out of warranty, and customers who are experiencing the problem should contact technical support, however as I have just contacted a technical support, Dell seem to be totally being totally unhelpful as the technical support just told me they are unaware of the issue and has no other report on the problem.  The technical support then asked me to go through over an hour of diagnosis, updating drivers and even remote into my PC and did a few checking.  After all the answer is that he is not able to help, except a screen replacement at a cost.  The burn-in problem is certainly a manufacturing defect!  Your technical support denying knowing the issue and wasted me an hour is not going to save you much but is going to lose you a loyal customer.

Hi

I have just purchased a number of precision and XPS laptops with "docking stations" which turn out to be no more than very expensive USB hubs. These require a power supply. My users have a power supply that they use when away from the office. It looks like the "docking station" doesn't charge the laptop when connected, is this the case? Do I really need a THIRD power supply to charge my laptop whilst in the office? Or do my users have to scrabble under desks for power sockets every day?

This is a backward step if this is the case, please tell me there is a means of getting charge through the dock?

Dell inspiron 14z ultrabook 5423 bad sectors chkdsk won't start, defrag does not recognise C:\

Hello people I have a Dell inspiron 14z ultrabook 5423 64-bit windows 7 500GB HDD , 32 Gb SSD that gives me a headache. The last couple months windows informs that I have bad sectors on the disk, as a result I can't do system restore. Every time that I try to run chkdsk it prompts that the disk is in use and that it will start at system reboot but windows starts immediately. I tried defragment the disk but it only recognises a recovery partition and not the C:\ drive. Any suggestions?

My Dell inspiron 14z ultrabook 5423 came installed with HL-DT-ST DVD+-RW GU60N SCSI CdRom Device optical drive. This month for no apparent reason it stopped writing whatsoever but read disks normally. has anyone encountered this problem before?

Lost my warranty ???

Hi all,

I bought a Dell Venue pro 11 in June 2015. When I checked it warranty status, it was under warranty until 2016 or 2018.

But now, when check again, there is nothing. No start day, no end day, ... nothing at all

I also check my other Dell laptop. It is out of warranty but still has other details

So what is wrong with my warranty? Anyone has idea abt this

I really need this warranty because my dell venue has problem with the fan, it is too noisy when working.

Not able to boot into O/S

My friend said he is not able to login to his laptop and gave it to me to take a look at it. when I inspected i found that someone has either locked the BIOS and/or the HDD. so now I am not able to either enter into BIOS or boot the O/S. can any one help.

Inspirion 15Z Batterry never full charger!

I replace my battery 1 month ago and the battery never charge over 14%. The most critical is, when I'm not plugged in energy the system send me a message that I don't have any power in the battery. I check a lot forums problems about the same problem, solved with BIOS update but dell doesn't update for my model after 2013. How can I solve this?

E7440 Slow Performance

We have 2 identical Latitude E7440 units (8GB, SSD, etc) each assigned to VP's. One VP has no complaints, the other VP constantly complains about slow performance. His laptop passes all diagnostics tests, although it takes significantly longer for the thorough tests to complete when compared to the other unit. Both are running current BIOS A15 and were reset to defaults. Swapping RAM between the 2 units does not change the performance issue. The only clue we have discovered is RAM benchmark results when running MemTest86. On the problem laptop the results are:

Vostro 1510 MASS STORAGE CONTROLLER

Windows 10 preview appears to run fine (good old Vostro!) but I'm getting a device manager error MASS STORAGE CONTROLLER driver error/wrong driver or something (with standard hard drive).

Is there a standard MASS STORAGE CONTROLLER driver for this laptop for Win7/8/10?! (Dell only supports this laptop with XP and Vista which is fair enough).

Dell studio xps 1647 launch problem

Ok, I was installing a game on my dell studio xps 1647, then pc randomly black screened and restarted and went to start up repair and by pure unluckyness I turned my pc off during the repair process. Now when I start it I get the normal dell loading screen, then the underscores flash in upper left corner and then nothing, black screen, whats wrong???

What is the best way to resolve a service issue?

Here is what I have

Inspiron 17 (5748, Mid 2013)

Product ship date: December 12, 2014

On 5-30-15 my computer would not boot up.

On 6-3-15 sent back to Dell for repair

On 6-16-15 received computer back after being told the mother board was replaced. I powered the laptop up without plugging in power and everything seemed fine.

On 6-17-15 (Wednesday) laptop would not turn on had no power at all. Call tech support and was told that a service tech would contact me in two days to come out and repair.

On 6-17-15 called to verify that I would receive service the next day Friday 6-18 and was told that parts were on back order until 7-13-15. I explained that this was unacceptable and was told someone would contact me in 48 hours. Since it was Thursday I would be contacted on Monday.

So today 6-22-15 I call and am told that it would be 7-10 days before a replacement could be sent.

Several comments:

1-I need my computer to run my husbands business. I am going on 30 days without a computer.

2-After reading many, many online complaints about Dell computers as well as the tech support I am concerned that even if I receive a new-refurbished computer I will have the same problem in a matter of months.

3-I would like to know why it is out of the question to ask for a full 1-yr warranty on the refurbished computer that is being sent to me. If Dell truly stands behind their products then they should have offered this without me asking only to tell me this can not be done.

4-to make this most acceptable to me I should receive a new computer, not refurbished with a full 1-yr warranty. if not the very least I should receive the 1-yr warranty at no cost.

this is the first time that I have posted a complaint and do not like doing so. I chose Dell believing I was purchasing the best computer as well as good support. I would like to post that my concerns have been resolved and that I am once again happy with my purchase.

Would you please direct me in how I can get this resolved timely and address my other concerns.

Dell inspiron 1564 battery cannot be identiffied

Hello,

I have an inspiron 1564 laptop and I just replaced the battery about a month ago. However, after a recent restart to install windows updates, the system gives me the battery cannot be identified error and flashes the battery light orange. What does this mean and how can I fix it? I would hate to have to get ANOTHER battery.

Latitude E7450 no longer works with dock

I have a Dell E7450 and up until this morning, I have been able to use the e-port on it to dock it to my docking station. When I tried to use my docking station this morning, my monitors would not wake when my laptop was turned on. I troubleshooted this and the dock works if I plug my AC power cable directly into my dock instead of the power cable being plugged into the docking station. After searching on the forums, I found that this has been a known problem and was resolved back in 2014. Is there a currently solution? Thanks!

I have a Dell Latitude E5510, recently I change the keyboard and I installed anew backlight keyboard.

my problem is: the backlight of the keyboard is not working, even I used different ways in troubleshooting (reinstalling new fresh of windows, updating the drivers from dell & self test from bios). but still not working!

Hey guys,

You are my final hope for my old Dell Inspiron 1545. It does not work anymore, from one day on the other. I took it completely a part to see if dust was a problem or a broken wire. Nothing broken sofar I can see. Normally it works on windows 7. If I turn it on, I hear the fan turning and there is something happening. The power/battery indication does light up. But next there doesnt happen anything.

I tried to do it with and without the accu and charger. Tried an external screen. Can the CMOS battery be the problem?

Nothing so far helped.Any suggestions?

Dell E520 should I keep it?

I have a Dell E520 desktop. It needs a hard drive and 2GB of memory. 

DIM E520,Intel Pentium D Processor 915 with Dual Core Technology(2.8GHz,800FSB)

1GB DDR2 SDRAM at 533MHz

250GB SATA II Hard Drive (7200RPM)

256MB nVidia GeForce 7300LE TurboCache

Is it worth spending $80-$100 on the computer?..I would be using it as a backup and for a flight simulator. It has Windows XP now....I was going to install Windows 7... I think it is 8 years old
