I am having the same screen problems. I assumed it was related to win 8 so I changed mine to win 7 pro. With this change I still have the problem. I tried the suggested “LCD BIST’' There were no lines on the screen. Also the start up screen is always clear and then as soon as I log in then there is a problem. I have tried to adjust the screen res when this problem is happening and it fixed it right away. So I think that there could be a hardware issue. Please any recommendations would be great.
I was able to replace the hard drive but I can't find what steps to take next.
Do I just turn on the laptop and follow prompts or should I put in the recovery discs before I turn on the computer.
Help!
Thanks.
The left control key is too close to the rubber palm rest and is stuck in the pressed position. This happened the first time I pressed the control key and I has not become unstuck.
Just wondering if anyone else had this issue and was able to fix it themselves or if they had to send it in? Thanks.
So, I have a Dell Inspiron 3520 and recently, out of the blue, it has completely stopped working.
Every time I try to start up my laptop, the Dell logo appears, disappears, and then a blue screen comes up. The screen is headed with the word "Recovery" and below that there's the following:
"Your PC couldn't start properly
After multiple tries, the operating system on your PC failed to start, so it needs to be repaired.
Error 0xc0000001
You'll need to use the recovery tools on your installation media. If you don't have any installation media (like a disc or USB device), contact your system administrator or PC manufacturer.
Press Enter to try again
Press F8 for Startup Settings
Press Esc for UEFI Firmware Settings"
I recently ran a hardware-diagnostics test and everything appears to be functioning well, but my laptop still keeps coming back to the blue screen on a loop. Also, on occasion, I've seen "INACCESSIBLE BOOT DEVICE" appear on the screen. I'm a complete computer novice and I'm not sure how to proceed to resolve this issue.
After 3 months of usage, the L key broke. Called tech support & Dell states that it is normal use & wear & therefore not covered under warranty...this product & Dell ***...DO NOT BUY...I used laptop very carefully, no hard use or kids playing with laptop...it is 100% defective
Hello,
In an attempt to get an updated video driver for my Inspiron 7520 SE, I downloaded the latest Catalyst Control Center from AMD (found here: http://support.amd.com/en-us/download/mobile?os=Windows%207%20-%2064.) Unfortunately, after the installation finished, it said that there were no video drivers available for my AMD video card. Also, Catalyst refuses to start. I am currently stuck using the basic version of Windows 7 and I am running solely on my Intel graphics.
I tried to download the driver found here: http://www.dell.com/support/home/us/en/19/Drivers/DriversDetails?driverId=7VXH5, but that solved nothing.
I am in over my head here. Any thoughts?
Are all my drivers auto updated? If not will I have to install all the drivers that I downloaded from Dell website? How can I know which driver I need to install for updating

I am trying to reload an XPS 12. When the reload starts I see the Windows 8 Window and the rotating dots come up and then it just loops at that point and 60 seconds later the cd rom stops and never allows me to continue installing.
It will allow me to run a low level formatter and that completed fine. I did a full PC diagnostic built in and third party and all the hardware checks out OK. I have tried 4 different WIndows 8 Pro CD's including a Dell one and a different external DVD drive.
I have had 5 computer techs try to come up with something else to try and none of us are having any luck. Is there something unique I don't know about reloading this thing?
My 3 and e key were working fine. Then it became unresponsive. It won't work despite tapping it. Is there a way to fix it?
I was wondering if my Dell Vostro 3460 supports Wake-on-LAN (WOL) from shutdown. I can't find any documentation about whether it supports the feature and how. There are no options in the BIOS to do so (latest update A13).
can i install window 7 on my vostro 3546 as it has ubantu in default, and how much it will cost
Since my webcam isn't working anymore, I tried to re-instal Dell Webcam Central it tells me "Cannot download the application. The application is missing required files. Contact the application vendor for assistance"
Do any of you know how I can fix my problem?
Thank you very much

I recently received a Precision M3800. It doesn't come with a built in NIC. Dell has included a Realtek USB 3.0 NIC dongle. I am attempting to utilize SCCM to image the laptop. Everything proceeds as normal until the Task Sequence gets to the point where it needs to upload the Bitlocker recovery info to AD. The smsts.log file indicates that it can't load the recovery into to AD because the pc isn't on the domain. I searched the unattendedgc and netsetup logs and found that the pc was indeed not able to join the domain. Error message basically stating that the domain controller can't be reached. I hit F8 right before and during the Join Domain step and do an ipconfig /all and find that the laptop isn't getting assigned an ip address during this phase of deployment. The weird thing is that everything up to this point of the Task Sequence went fine and it requires network connection. The problem seems to arise somewhere around the time the hardware drivers for the M3800 get installed or when the Setup Windows and ConfigMgr step runs. Has any one else run into problems with this!?!?!?! I've been working on the stupid issue off and on for a week and still no progress.
On my Latitude E6510, the SD card reader isn't working at all. It isn't listed in the Device Manager or in any of the hardware properties. After reading some posts, I believe my motherboard chipset driver may be malfunctioning or inadequate.
I've read where some users had it working in an original configuration , but when they upgraded the chipset driver, it stopped working.
I can plug my USB Card Reader into the Latitude E6510 and it reads cards just fine.
I'd love to fix this so I can use the card reader out on the road.
Anyone know where to get a working Chipset Driver for the Latitude E6510?
Cannot connect to internet, doesn't find wireless network.Any suggestions?
I have a Latitude E5510 with Windows 7 Home Premium 32 bits.
I need to restore it to Dell's Factory Settings, but can't find the way to do it.
This is the procedure I follow:
Press F8 at boot time.
Select Repair Computer.
Select keyboard layout
Login with administrative rights user
I get the following options:
Sartup Repair
System Restore
System Image Recovery
Windows Memory Diagnostic
Command Prompt
I choose System Image Recovery
I get a message saying "Windows cannot find a system image on this computer".
I choose "Select a System Image".
I click Advanced.
I click Install a Driver.
I can see three volumes:
RECOVERY (C:)
Inside RECOVERY (C:) I find only one directory named Recovery.
OS (D:)
BOOT (X:)
Inside BOOT (X:) I find the following directory structure:
DELL
Program Files
Sources
Users
Windows
Setup
But Repair Computer cannot find the information to restore the PC to factory settings.
What am I doing wrong? Can you help me?
