The laptop was working correctly, powered off and when powered back on screen is black and 7 loud beeps followed by silence and then 7 loud beeps. This continues until powered off.

Inspiron 1545 Laptop
Trying to connect external device, i.e. mobile phone and keep getting the following message
"One of the USB devices attached to this computer has malfunctioned and windows does not recognise it"
It then tells me to click the message for more info and shows 'Unknown device', with further details 'no drivers are installed for this device'
I used to be able to connect my phone and kindle previously but suddenly the machine doesn't see them so i can't transfer files between phone and laptop or vice versa.
Any clues as to what I should do would be greatly appreciated

(Legacy) M4400 Precision Notebook Workstation - Suitable CPU Upgrade
Hello,
I would be very grateful to confirm my findings below.
I'm a bit on the intermediate side of things with laptops.., Although , I've built a few gaming systems for Desktop users under a different CPU Manufacture back in the 2007-8 years.
Having done some digging.., It appears that my Precision M4400 was originally shipped with an Intel Core 2 Duo CPU, T9400 2.53Ghz x2, PGA/BGA 775 - Socket P 478-pin. (w/ Win7 Ultimate Sp.1 32-bit O.S.)
Discovering that the T9900 3.06Ghz x2 CPU is identical in Socket Specs, FSB, CPU's System Board power allocation limits, L2 6MB cache, 35w TDP, A/C Adapter's headroom requirements, etc...
Q. Have I missed anything that could cause a serious heat concern when running heavy apps or maybe a problem over-site with BIOS support?
Q. And secondly.., Does anyone have first-hand knowledge or professional advise they could share about this T9900 CPU, as "a compatible configuration for the M4400 Precision in question?"
This M4400's System Board BIOS and Chip-set are the latest ver. A29, since this inquiry was written.
This is likely to be irrelevant here, but for general purposes., I am using two SSD Modules.
SSD module 1. has the O.S., utilizing Primary internal SATA. The second module 2., is configured as an external Boot Device. (in this case, the Optical Drive Bay)
In addition, 4 GB of DDR2 2x2 matched Ram., And of course.,The M4400's System Board has a dedicated, Nvidia Quadro FX 770 w/ 512MB GDDR3 )
Note:
I am still unclear about the relevance here but if Dell, having integrated it's memory app. providing it's use of (for lack of a better term) "safe operational-power and management technology...,
Q. Is it true that this so called "CPU braking effect." is integrated in the T-series CPU, itself?
That's basically my major concern, in this case.
After cross-referencing my a T9400 CPU with a T9900 CPU in the 'Comparison Chart' which can be found on Intel's support site., The T9900 CPU seems to be an excellent compatibility solution for a M4400.
Physical requirements are identical. Hardware performance numbers are virtually identical.
T9400's temp threshold is the same for T9900, at 105c. This has to be encouraging.
With all SINCERITY.., ANY AND ALL HELP IS TRULY APPRECIATED.

Anti-virus on new (4 days old) Inspiron 7548
I have the 30 day McAfee installed and I want to replace it with Windows Defender which seems to have been turned off with no option of turning it back on.
It seems as though McAfee has a lock on the system from which I cant escape. I need help during the period in which I can still return this laptop and get one where I am free to use whatever software I wish.

Dell inspiron 1501 BIOS error??
Hi all! The problem is this: the laptop can't log in windows 8.1, is computer diagnostics, system check and says the presence of errors, the collection of information and restarts. When I go from usb to restore the system (windows 8.1), there is the following inscription: Broadcom UNDI PXE-2.1 v 2.1.0
PXE-E61: Media test failure, check cable
PXE-M0F: Exiting Broadcom PXE ROM. Operating system not found.

Inspiron 7548 15,6" series 7000 Defect Touchpad Movement Detection Lag
Please reply if you DO NOT HAVE the problem shown in the following two videos.
I'd like to find the best configuration to avoid or minimize movement detection lag. If you laptop works fine, please reply to tell me which touchpad driver you installed.
Here is a description of the problem by Da AugGust:
"The touch pad seems to ignore the first half an inch of movement from the point of the start of the touch, so i could keep wiggling my finger around on the touch pad and it would ignore all input as long as its within half an inch of the starting point. After i go past the "activation threshold" then it tracks perfectly fine including the tiniest movements"

Nvidia 780m SLI problem.
OK so i recently refreshed my alienware laptop, using the DVD that came with the computer. Everything seemed to work just fine till i realized that only one of the graphic cards seems to be working. The thing is, on both device manager and on nvidia experince both cards are detected. However on Nvidia control panel both cards are also detected but there is no way to configure SLI settings. It looks like this:

dell inspiron 5323 freeze at dell logo on boot
dell inspiron 5323 13z , very lite use, just reading books,
3 days ago, while i reading, it turned off, i try to turn on but it freeze after 2 to 3 seceond in dell logo, and it keep like that every time i try to turn it on.
1- no beep.
2- f2 setup, and f12 boot options are accessible but it freezes as soon as i choose any option and hit enter.
3- diagnostic test not working and not accessible neither through f12 booting option nor through Fn key way.
4- i removed the hardisk, batteries, keyboard and still giving the same freeze.
5- i exchange the ram but still same error.
6- i removed the power and the battery and holded the power button for 30 second then tried to reboot but same freeze.
7- the procsser cooling fan is working.
8- the freeze screen either black or dell logo.
i took it to repairshop near me he told he cannot determine the issue.
so, any suggestion?

Dell Inspiron 3541, no network connections
My Dell Inspiron 3541 laptop is all of a sudden is having issues. I was using it on my wifi with no issues at all, shut it off, then when I went to go on it again, it is saying I have no network connections available. My router is working fine right now because I am on a different laptop at my house right now.
I tried everything I could think of. My laptop has no physical wireless switch, so I tried pressing Fn F2. No luck with that. I made sure airplane mode was off. I went into my PC network settings, and there is nothing at all there for wifi. All it shows is my Ethernet connection (Which is not connected because I dont have that hooked up), and my VPN connection. Nothing about my wifi connection. I went into my network and sharing center, and looked everywhere in it, and not a word mentioned at all about wireless connection. I tried troubleshooting the problem, but all it told me to do was hook up an Ethernet cable.
I am very confused, its like my all of my computers wireless capabilities just dissipated randomly. Any help would be appreciated.

My Inspiron M5110 will not power up.I have tried the thing where you remove the battery and hold down the power button for 30 seconds and it tries to power up bu cant.Of the 3 buttons on the one side only one lights up then it shuts back off.The screen doesn't even come on.Help?

Windows 10 Update
Hey. I have a Dell Inspiron 15 3537 and obviously a Windows 8.1 OS. Windows has announced it's release date of Windows 10 and I already made a reservation. But when I checked my compatibility and found some of my hardware/software are not compatible with Windows 10. I figured that it can be solved with a simple update to the software. But the reason why I'm putting this up is that: Will it receive an update to solve that compatibility problem and will it be done within a year.

ST Microelectronics 3 Axis Digital Accelerometer is not compatible with this version of Windows
Hello,
I have a Dell Inspiron 11 2-in-1 3147 laptop. Recently the screen is no longer auto-rotating when I change the device orientation. At one point, the Windows Action Center popped up saying the ST Microelectronics 3 Axis Digital Accelerometer driver is not compatible. I have the latest driver 2.2.2.20.
Has anyone else had this problem??

Inspiron 7000 17 Android syncing
Just got the Inspiron 7000 with Win 8.1 pro. I want to sync my address and calendar with Outlook 2013 like I could with my old Inspiron running Win 7 Pro but there is no mobile device center anymore. My phone is paired with the laptop. But when I try to added to devices it doesn't see it even though it shows up under Bluetooth device as paired. It shows paired but not connected. How do I connect and sync. Can I even do that? I tried resting my Outlook address book from my Carbonite backup but for some reason it is not there. My address book is also out on Google, is there a way a maybe can get it from there. Not liking the fact I cannot sync my phone anymore.

E5510 won't power on :(
So for months my laptop (a dell E5510) has been broken.
To shorten it up a bit, it just will not turn on.
I have tried everything. Power reset, buying a new charger, and now I feel as though its pointless to even get a new battery.
I know that even when the battery is out, the laptop should still work if the charger is in. So I feel as though it isn't the battery but maybe something wrong on the inside.
I looked on the inside, and to my surprise everything looked ok. I'm no computer genius but nothing looked fried or anything.
I should also add** that there is no beeping or flashing coming from the computer whatsoever which only forces me to believe that this isn't a motherboard issue. But again, I suppose I could be wrong.
Just thought I'd add that information. :)
Anyway, I would love to get back to gaming so if I could get advice..thatd be great.

my dell laptop sometimes gives 8 beep code when I start my laptop ( even before the screen of dell logo, where bios options are given). when I try multiple times it starts working. till I shut down. there is no problem when its on sleep mode. please help

My laptop N4010 beeping 8 times on startup and i have also get changed its display IC once with the help of dell service center. It performed very well but only for 2 months and now again i'm having an issue that i have experienced earlier.

Dell Inspiron 3541, no network connection
My Inspiron 3541 is having issues. I was using it fine on wireless internet, then the next time I went to use it, its telling me there is no network connection. My router is working fine, Im on a different laptop right now at my house.
i tried going into the network and sharing center, looked everywhere in there, and there was nothing at all about my wireless network in there. i went into my PC network setting, and the only things that show up are my VPN and Ethernet status. nothing about wireless. I tried troubleshooting the problem, but all it did was tell me to plug in an ethernet cable.
Its like all wireless capabilities just dissipated from my computer. I even tried pressing Fn F2, but that didnt help.
Any help here would be greatly appreciated.

Laptop keyboard not working (even on start up)
I have a Dell XPS laptop with a Windows 7 installation.
I turned it on this morning and the keyboard no longer works - even when attempting to go to the settings (F2) or BIOS (F12) screens it usually ignores it.
When it goes to the Windows 7 login screen, it fills up the password field - just like if a key is being held down - however, I am unable to stop it from filling up completely as no keys work (although the touchpad does work) - it even 'enters' (and brings up the 'wrong password' text box) without any input from myself at all.
Fixes I've attempted:
1. Remove the battery and charger, hold down the power button for 30 seconds (suggested elsewhere).
2. Unscrew the back of the laptop and clean the components.
Any suggestions as to how I could self-fix this without shipping it off somewhere? Thanks
