I am having to replace the hard drive in my XPS-502X laptop. Of course, this happened about 4-months after the warranty expired and I was told by Dell that they would not extend it on XPS laptops.
I have a new copy of Windows 7 Professional and the new hard drive. I am good with the hardware side of things, but want to make sure that I don't miss anything as far as drivers. etc are concerned. Does anyone know the procedure I should follow with regard to the software side of things?

For a while now, I have had issues with having my internet connection drop in and out. Roughly every minute or so, my internet will cut out for a period of 15-30 seconds. This is particularly frustrating when I am trying to listen to spotify or play an online video game. I decided to test my internet connection and I consistently fail the ping test. I have tried a couple different hot fixes like changing my windows defender firewall settings as well as re installing my Intel Dual-band wireless-AC 7260 driver. I will supply any information you need if you could please help me!
I am currently in college, so I know that the ISP isn't the problem. My roommate doesn't have these issues nor do others in my hall.
I have an Inspiron 17R SE 7720 running Windows7 Pro and want to turn off the touchpad permanently. When I reboot the laptop, it comes back on even though in the settings it shows it as off. I tried a program called 'touch freeze', but that didn't work on mine. Does anybody know how to fix this?
Hi, I have a DELL inspiron 15 (N5010) laptop.My laptop BIOS password (admin) set automatically. While going to BIOS security, my laptop is asking for password and setup is lock. I tried many times but unable to enter correct password. Can any one please tell me how to proceed further for resetting the password?

Ok ive done a lot of reading on this and nothing has worked so far. With both memory cards in it the power lights come on and caps lock blinks but thats it. With the bottom card removed it will turn on and go to bios. I ran the onboard diagnostics and it didnt have any errors i know its not the memory card because it still works if i switch the cards. When bios comes on i can go to f1 to continue and f2 to run setup utility and f5 for onboard diagnostics. When i press f1 it says missing operating system f2 brings me to settings and f5 does diagnostics which all passed. Any help is greatly appreciated. Could it be the little battery by the bottom memory card?

I would like to take advantage of the $42 upgrade to the 91wh battery, but I am not interested in also purchasing an mSATA hard drive at this time. I have my own mSATA drive, so I would prefer to have the laptop with the 91wh battery and simply no hard drive at all (as the 91wh battery extends into the 2.5inch SATA drive bay). I'm not even looking for a discount on the price for not receiving a hard drive, I just want the 91wh battery.

Hi all, I recently purchased a Latitude 7350. I believe the system has a primary battery in the tablet and a secondary battery in the keyboard dock.
However, in both Windows and in the BIOS, it only shows a primary battery installed. The second battery is listed as "not present." I've tried attaching and detaching the tablet from the keyboard multiple times and the status hasn't changed.
Any ideas?
I recently purchased his dell 15 5547 and right out the box i am having track pad issues, everytime i click the left button it continues to bring up the short cut menu, i even switched and made both buttons the "click feature" and i still occasionally get the short cut menu to pop up, is there any solution to this problem? i even uninstalled the drivers and reinstalled them, i keep getting the same issue
Hi sir, i have dell inpiron 14z ultrabook, that suddenly this msg display it says "Internal Hard disk drive not found to reseat the drive Press F1 to reboot devices, F2 to enter setup, F5 to enter PSA. I try all of that but one i concern aobut is the F5 which is the PSA, it runs the diagnostic of my hardware, all is check aside from Hardware 0, Hardware 1 and Videocard and Memory it doesnt run or doesn't show the check. it always beep and says thermal is on limit etc.. then, whenever i go into the BIOS i can only run my OS when in LEGACY MODE, but in UEFI the msg display >>Start PXE over Ipv4 then no response... ..Start PXE over Ipv6 and etc.. then after the two PXE ipv4/6 the msg Display No internal hard disk drive not found etc... help me sir, this is only my laptop. i dont know what to do :((

I got my new Dell XPS 13 Tuesday (Core i7, touch screen, 8 GB RAM, 256 GB SSD). I started using it wednesday afternoon - yesterday (Thursday) - I really used it - where I also updated with the latest BIOS version.
Later that day I turned the computer off - but now I cannot turn it on again. Nothing happens when I press the power button.
Approx an hour before that happened - I noticed two errors in the event viewer - unfortunately I cannot remember what the errors said - but something like: power at core 0 and core 2 (or was it 2 and 4) - contact the vendor for new firmware.
Anybody having experienced the same error?

The Inspiron 3000 has served me very well and I am generally happy with the machine, however over the last couple of months it became extremely slow and is almost unresponsive at this point as soon as I fill the hard drive with around 100GB additional data (note that I need all the programs and additional files for work).
Since Avast couldn't find anything wrong with the files and formatting didn't make it any faster, I am looking into getting a new SSD. My question is, which model/brand should I go for?
Right now I'm looking at samsung SSDs, as I've heard only the best things about them on Apple forums, however, does that apply to Windows too, and most importantly my laptop?

Just received a Dell Inspiron 15 3543 the other day and wished to install Windows 7 in stead of the preinstalled Windows 8.1. It appears that the card reader and ethernet drivers are both missing from the support website for this model (for both Win 7 and 8.1). Could somebody at Dell please solve this issue so people will be able to reinstall their operating system and utilize the card reader and ethernet port?
