Hi first post. My grandson's laptop has a smashed screen. It seems to be a special where one store sells a unique model? I'm just trying to find where I could get the spare parts to repair it myself.

My battery no longer holds a charge but it works when plugged in. I ordered a new battery but it is only coming in a few days. The battery percentage amount is slowly decreasing even though it is plugged in.
I was wondering if I can still use the computer even in the battery is removed?
I have had the most unusual things going on with my Inspiron one 2320. After going through all of the normal steps I searched online for the symptoms and most of the answers referred to a Bios virus. I did a full backup onto a USB backup hard drive, used wipe to clear the internal hard drive, used the jumper to clear the Bios, removed the bios battery after that and replaced it after about 5 minutes, it didn't work so I got a new hard drive, cleared the bios, and loaded the new Win 7 on it. As soon as the Bluetooth drivers were installed the PC coupled with my I PHONE all by itself and the virus repaired itself from there.
What is going on here?
hi, i have a dell Latitud E5510 with windows 8.1, but my integrated camera dont' work when installing that OS. I look the drivers for the camera but only I found for the Windows 7. Where i can find the drivers for Windows 8.1??

l've tried registering 3 times. I would like to download Cyberlink PowerDVD 10 that was preinstalled on my computer. In error I deleted it and I never received any install dvds with my laptop. I don't want to have to do a whole system reinstall to install just one program. Any suggestions?

I am getting so angry with dell because all support is chat, I despise chat! All I want to do is by a brand new left side cooling fan, mine quit working all together and all the people I chat with cannot give me a direct link to buy this darn fan. When I say left side fan, I am referring to the left fan with the bottom grill removed and looking at the bottom of the laptop.
I know most of you already know this and the chats had no clue. Will someone please give me a direct link to buy this cooling fan?

I have a dell inspiron 3542 does any 1 know which wlan card upgrade is the best for this laptop it currently has the oem DW-1705 . if possable can you replay with the make and model. I stupidly pressed the “on” switch for 10 seconds while the laptop Dell Model XPS 14 (L401X) (Windows 7 64 bit) was booting up. Afterwards, my wi-fi and USB Verizon Novatel 760 Mobile Modem weren’t working.
I checked device manager and sure enough I had errors in network adapters. I tried restoring to the next earlier restore point, 4 days earlier, but the restore failed.
I went to the Dell website and downloaded the Windows 7 64bit and download all chipset and network drivers. Then I uninstalled all devices in Device Manager - Network Adapter. The new drivers were all re-recognized after installing the drivers I just downloaded. (I think all but one of the drivers were restored.) (See existing devices below.) Then I rebooted. My wi-fi was restored, but the Novatel Mobile modem was not restored.
I tried installing the Mobile Modem and the current VZ Access Manager on a neighbor’s laptop and it worked. So, it is not likely the Modem or VZ Access Manager software are to blame.
Just in case, I uninstalled and reinstalled the Verizon Manager, with the latest updates, software on my laptop. When I use the software the modem is detected and authenticated, has its green led on and shows signal bars like it has found a signal. But when I click “Connect WWAN”, I get the error message from VZ Access Manager, “Connection failed. The modem (or other connecting device) is already in use or is not configured properly. Error 663.”
In the Event Viewer Application log I get RASClient Error, “CoId={135362E9-B484-4E37-821D-B7136424F0CE}: The user RobertAdams-PC\Robert Adams dialed a connection named Verizon Wireless - VZAccess which has failed. The error code returned on failure is 633. Event ID 20227”
When I have my Novatel plugged in, the Device Manager shows it as a Modem with asyncmacs.sys and modem.sys (6.17.00-16385) as drivers. I have those two files in Windows. Device Manager shows the device to be working properly. When the Novatel is unplugged, Device Manager shows no other modem.
I believe my problem is that I’m missing my RAS Async Adapter. I think it was in my list before my crash, but am not sure. Friends with Windows 7 (x64) have that on their hidden Device Manager-Network Adapter. (6.1.7601.1754/6.1.7600.16385, Win7_rtm.090713-1255, 6/21/2006, asyncmacs.sys in the windows/system32/drivers folder). RAS Async Adapter is not listed as an option in the “Manually Add Legacy Hardware Network Adapters Microsoft” section. I have no Unknown Devices in any of my Device Manager entries including hidden. I have my Del Install Driver CD.
How can I obtain and install the driver or otherwise repair this problem?
after upgrading to win 8.1 i noticed my alien fx editor (keyboard lights) is having issues... alienfx is not responding good to changing colors and also i noticed i lost alien autopsy as well... nowhere to be found...
ive been looking to upgrade alienware command center compatible for windows 8.1 for 2 years and i dont find a place where to do so...

Can anyone help with this? I have run the pre-boot scan and it reported all was OK. I have also updated to the A14 BIOS and updated to the latest Intel RAID Drivers with no success.
I have read that disabling ASPM in the BIOS might help, but my BIOS is locked, so can't do that :(
Finally, this started about a week ago (literally a couple of weeks AFTER my warranty expired, and I can't afford $300 to extend it!!) So I don't have access to DELL's support hotline.
Any help would be greatly appreciated, as it is my main computer and only works for 10-15 minutes until it freezes.

I bought a new Dell latitude 6440 in Mar 2015. Unfortunately it makes severe vibration along with noise. i am using Latitude for the last 7 years. so i can feel the difference very quickly. I did complete dell online Your system analysis and all the results are passed. Did update bios & windows and all dell updates using the service tag. But still the problem persist.
Your help in this matter is highly appreciated.

I have problem with this I purchased (2) tablets from Dell when I purchased (2) laptops I am having a problem with (1) tablet when I checked it was still under warranty I call dell wait almost (1) and half to be told that the service tag for tablet is not registered in my name? I have no idea when I log into my Dell account the tablet is under my name I am the original owner and purchased direct from Dell, I was told by a guy I could hardly understand with loud back ground noise that I had to transfer ownership to me, I said look at the records I purchased this items and others!, this some sort of scam from inside Dell or an former Dell employee the best is I have to wait 15 days to get Help for this problem via transfer of ownership which I purchased the tablet does Dell extend the warranty (15) days now sine this is Dell screw up? Not a happy customer after years of buying Dell products I think its time to check out Apple. and stop paying my Dell account Bill?

Overall I'm happy with my Inspiron 15 7548 with 4K display despite the tiny keyboard and inability to set a lot of programs to use the AMD graphics I paid a premium for but I have hit an issue which I'm not sure is down to my laptop being faulty or drivers / software.
I have tried running PC Mark 8 (Basic Edition)via the Intel HD Graphics 5500 and then with the AMD Radeon R7 M270 set to High Performance but with either the whole laptop just suddenly turns off about 5 mins into the test.
I have also tried dropping the resolution down to 1920 x 1080 and running with either Intel or AMD graphics and have the same issues.
I have posted more info online here but has anyone else managed to run PC Mark 8 free all the way through ok?

I am using Dell vostro 1550. I had dual booted ubuntu 14.04 LTS with Windows 7 a few weeks back. Every thing was working fine but suddenly my laptop's wifi LED is not lightning up in ubuntu. But it lights up in windows 7. There are no answers in askubuntu.com for this question.
Should I reinstall the whole ubuntu OS or just switch to older/version of ubuntu?. Or is there any solution to this problem without going for such a big headache?

My Dell XPS 15 just goes to a blank screen now. I was required to do a Dell update and restarted my computer. Then it started to go to the FastAccess screen for less than one second then go blank for about 3 seconds. After about 10 minutes it would stop doing that cycle then it screen was blank. I could move the mouse and see the point and that was it. I keep pushing the space bar and putting in my password on the blank screen. Then after about a half hour it show up with my desktop with the right side of my screen was black (about three to five inches). So I uninstalled FastAccess and restarted my computer. Now it still does that 1 second on and 3 seconds off but now FastAccess does not show up. It flashes the wifi symbol in the lower left hand corner. After about 10 minutes I can move the mouse pointer on the blank screen. Tried the password thing and it is not working this time. Any ideas on what I have to do to fix this? I am in the military and Philippines for work and I was able to pull all my files off while it was working but I need to get this fixed.
Any ideas? I love my Dell, I just need to get this fixed.
